[MENTION=22411]IamMary[/MENTION].........of course its your's next week. Its the big 10k race in Dubbers isn't it? It seven years since me and Mr JC came across and we got upgraded to a suite because of the mix up in our booking being their fault........as far as we knew there'd been no mix up so grabbed it with both sticky mitts. There was a big meet-up and we all went on the Viking boat thingies and our Mrs A ran the race on the Monday. We stayed on the rest of the week and it was lovely.

[MENTION=22456]starty[/MENTION]........I take it Iceland the country not the shop..........even our extremely rich friends had to be picked up off the floor at the price of the booze....

Its 19 years ago today since my Dad died.

Oh I am sorry Jax. Those anniversaries are so very tough. October 4th for me. We brought Casey (our dog) home on that day to ensure that some joy was always brought to a tough day xxx

We'd organized a Eurovision Song Contest for Jenny and her friends and my Ma insisted we went ahead. I just got absolutely shit-faced.

Ahh we had Dylan then, sobbed into his coat more than once.

Sorry been AWOL .......... out every day trying to get mother sorted.
At last the care package is approved and she's able to go home tomorrow :yay:

Well he's still here - he's relapsed a few times - but ye know I've given up giving a s*it.
Just hope he gets a job soon & moves on - that how I feel deep down tbh ..... he's now costing us money in bills & food and I can't afford it any more.
He cleans up after himself but in a grubby kind of way - I'm just tired of re-cleaning the mess.

How long is the trip to iceland for [MENTION=22456]starty[/MENTION]? I still dread the big gigs, but always find them grand when they arrive. focus on their hairy mouths the next day :happy2:

Good morning everyone. Another beautiful morning here. Glad you got your Mum sorted Satz. Is Iceland just work Starty or will you get to do some sightseeing? Beautiful but very expensive. We went about two summers ago. We are off west this weekend as it’s our bank holiday. Hoping to get a hike in on Saturday morning. Lots to do before then so I had better get up and at it.

You know you get those friend suggestions on FB? I got one the other day and just couldn't place the face. Took me a while and it finally clicked..........one of the old clients from the old place I used to work........tbh he was a pain in the proverbial arse..........he'd been kicked out of re-hab, left re-hab as they wouldn't let him take his painkillers in, used to turn up drunk and be verbally abusive and was last seen in another town in a white hospital gown with a drip hanging out of his arm buying a bottle of vodka (it still astounds me that the owner of the shop didn't call an ambulance).

The good news on reading his FB profile now...........he did 12 weeks in re-hab, he's added another two months and he looks so different and so well. He's attending meetings and seems to have found an acceptance and a gratitude that he used to pour scorn on others for having. I'm amazed.

Yes it is a work jolly. We are doing the midnight run on June 21st well I am walking it. Then we have Friday to ourselves so I am doing the Golden Circle tour. We then visit some thermal pools on the Sat and come home. Not paying so lucky in that respect. I understand it is very expensive.

Lovely story. It is amazing what folk can do if they put their mind to it.
