Morning all - I'm here.
So tired last night & still tired but awake :crying:

I'm in work all weekend . Don't mind too much as it's piddling rain.
The very heavy humid weather had all the residents edgy last night - had to to stop 2 of them taking off up the hill :egad:

They just casually walk out the door and say - "I'm going home ok ?"
Had a man asking was his mother downstairs - he's 92.

Funny they always end up asking for their mother.
It could be a very sad place but we try to keep it upbeat and go along with even the most bizarre of requests. ::radiate:

Morning all,

Satzy your descriptions of the residents always makes me smile. Even though in reality it is very sad.

Sleep was broken for me too because a) it is always broken and b) it was bloody hot and humid.

Been out for a couple of lovely walks already. Yesterday went shopping to get some gear for Iceland. I loathe shopping for clothes. I stand there humming and hahing and in the end buy something then spend hours worrying I bought the wrong thing! Exhausting.

Afternoon,
Couldn't sleep either and just got up near noon feel like I wasted half a day.
[MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION].........my Ma when she was in the hospital (dementia and other stuff).........kept asking the staff that if her mother came in would they make her a cup of tea..........I'm afraid the nurses just patted her hand and said of course..........I went in one night and the ward sister came charging at me full of apologies after my Grandma actually turned up...fit as a flea. ..they thought my mum was delusional.

After the meeting at the old place decided to go back........it has changed and changed for the good. Trying to keep this short but there's a few of us going to be trained so we can work behind the cafe counter.......I'm doing it and hopefully become a barista. We'll be getting paid for any time there are outside firms using us for conferences/training courses............its only 5-10 hours a week but its pennies in the bank..............biggest news though I'm going back to AA.

The hippy twins are having a wonderful time apart from one of the airbeds has sprung a leak. There's a shuttle bus into the village and at the moment worshiping at the statue of Rory Gallagher while a tribute band play.

Great news on the paid work Jax! That is always a big bonus. Plus it sounds like it will be better managed at the center?

Took lurcher dogger to the vet yest for his manicure. He managed to head but me in the face and elbow me in the boobs. Feel like I have done 10 rounds today!

Evening all.
Back from the madness ......... they are all lovely really
Errrr except Maeve ......... she's a terror.
She's 95 - sharp as a tack but pretends she's deaf ........... sits in the chair from 8 am to 8pm shouting ''I want to go home" Helllllp me" to get attention. Which she gets.
I brought her out in the sun & couldn't get her back in - kept putting her foot down when I'd push the wheelchair. ...... left her there calling me "the bitch" and the ringleader of all those terrorising her.:happy2: [MENTION=7008]JackieClaire[/MENTION] : Delighted re job : and AA :egad: I think [MENTION=22456]starty[/MENTION] - heard only yesterday from a therapist - Valerian / Hops tincture has cured her sleep problems - she's going though menopause too.

Much better managed.......and the lad who's got the manager job has loads of connections and not shy about calling a few favours in. He's very likable.

The AA thing....... My head's been all over the place since at least the beginning of the year and I'm needing the face to face of AA and some serenity in my life. I used to see AA as a bunch of people who thought they knew everything.......couldn't be more wrong. Its changed in the 10 years or so since I was last in the rooms. Its not all about doing your first 90 meetings in 90 days/reciting the Big Book verbatim/being holier than thou......mind you there's bound to some that are hard core.....its more about the fellowship. There's even a meeting up the road in Tesco.......obviously not in the dairy aisle its upstairs in the meeting rooms.

Saw RG years ago.......he was such a bonnie lad. My friend's grandson is called after him.
