.I could definitely afford the 14lbs........found a load of t-shirts I can fit into ............cut the tablet in half last night so I'll see how it goes.
Can you in anyway get half an hour just to put your feet up?

Starty knows her stuff on the oil.. I only smelt it, gross. If you only took a half dose, that would have helped with the nausea too.

Not much rest this week, just about sitting down my 11, but Im making sure a get a short run most nights with a friend. We both take turns to rant -we rekon we have saved thousands in therapy fees over the years!

Perhaps I should invest in something over the water?!

Dont think Id risk an investment over here. Not after the last crash, its all a gamble. What about something that needs work, but in an area you like? You could tip away at it over the holiday periods, extend in a couple of years. Thats what we did.. Mind you, I've had to accept that we will actually NEVER be finished, but at least we will never be bored!

[MENTION=22411]IamMary[/MENTION] - that sounds a great idea, buying a property that needs some TLC... my conundrum, if I can call it that, is where to buy... I bought in Aberdeen when i had family still living there (we're not from there originally)... but since they left/retired, i soon left too, unconsciously realising it was due to family leaving. Well i think it was because of that... anyway... since, like 2006/7 i've never felt like i've had a home - like a base I wanted to make permanent, everywhere has been temporary. I think bachelorhood does't help! No dependents - which has it's upsides, but also it's downsides.

Last week next week.... and we are all, teachers, looking at next Thursday as if it can;t come quick enough. One teacher is off with a bad infection and I;m sure it's just the toll of the last year and her body does;t have the energy it normally would to fight it.

Sunshine... so i'm thinking to get out early and do a long ride/commute to school.

My brother and his missus have a beautiful two-bed house, garden front and back......think they paid £75K. Lovely wee village and masses of walks/runs around there. My advice get your place on the market and see if there's any biters.
Jenny's passed her final assignement and starts at her school next Friday......the head wants her in to see the stress of an end of term. They close on the 20th July.

75k! wow, that's amazing.
Your are in a lucky position RC, you dont have to limit your search to an area. Well, maybe to be close to work. Maybe this time, as you'll be buying just for yourself, it might feel more like a permanent home. Or does it have to? As long as you get a good vibe for now, that would be good enough for me. Who knows what's around the corner!

July 20th is much later that ours JC. Thats secondary? Ours finished at the beginning of June (week 3 and my head is wrecked!).

The private schools are finished now and are off for 12 weeks. My cousin has 3 in a private school and she's just about ready for an asylum by September. Mind you this week she's in Majorca with her pals...........prolly hoping she looses her passport.

Just stopped the fecking anti-depressants. Just could not bear the side effects. If the doctor batters me round the head with her stethoscope on Tuesday sobeit.......I've learnt a lot about my body in the last few years sober.

Jenny's fine. Passed the final assignment with bells and whistles. Graduation on 27th July. Starts work proper at the beginning of September. She's been coaching a few remedial children and having a wonderful time.

No idea why the English school terms are differ to the rest of the UK.......prolly a conspiracy between the holiday firms to keep the prices at a maximum for longer.

Good for Jenny, JC. And i concur with your conspiracy theory! We got told our positions next year in the school. I had said to the HT that i'd like to be back in class - I've not had my own class since I did my probationary year. So two years out of class, and feeling quite deskilled at the teaching :egad: ... So i was a bit, um, miffed, to be told that yet again I'd be out of class. So this will be my 3rd year doing non-class-contact cover - that is, teaching a variety of classes to cover teachers 2hours out of class each week.

Upside: less admin

Downside: feeling like a spare part and, as this past 2 years have proven, I'll be the first person to be thrown from pillar to post if there's staffing issues - i.e. suddenly called on to cover a class if a teacher is off. It's sort of like being on permanent supply. I didn't give up a career to return to uni to cover teacher's classes.

But let's keep this all positive. For some reason the BBC are doing stuff on Maya Angelou. They have on their website 10 of her quotes. So here's one I'm going to take and see if i can apply...

You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.
