Morning all,
I havent read back properly but.....
Jax, the ADs although can be great are not always the answer. I stopped mine last year after many years on them and really do feel better. Yes I do get very low at times but also very happy. I guess that's life. Kudos to you for realising that they are just a band aid. Helpful but not always the answer.
Molls, I am delighted to see you back! You have been missed.
RC, sorry your job is not turning out as you hoped. Maybe it is time to move on somewhere that you feel appreciated. It is always a real downer when work doesnt work for us. But it doesnt have to be that way. I am expert at learning that lesson of late.
Satzy, MANY MANY congrats on your 5 years! Very impressive and well done !
Mary, Wales is beautiful, truly wonderful. It is a bit dodgy with the weather tho !
And as for me. Iceland was shall we say traumatic. The accommodation was a hostel which was heaving with young folk and along with our party of 50 was crowded and noisy. The football was on and there was much chanting and banging of tables. Overnight rumpas and general overexcitement. Plus it was falling apart and not very clean. I had about 6 hours sleep for the whole 3 days and was beyond exhausted. We had to do the race after being up for almost 24 hours. There was delays in luggage and the plane was overbooked for the way home. We were offered 600 euro to stay there. I managed to get a seat on the plane after huge amounts of stress but 11 of us had to wait. For this old girl it was too much and I drank on the second night. 2 glasses of wine to see if it would help me sleep and release some of the tension in my tummy. It did not. I had to share a room with a lady who flaps and panics which also did not do much for my demeanour. I was desperate to come home as soon as I got there. However, I did see some amazing sights and the team spirit was good. But it just was not for me. I regret drinking, I did not crave it or really want it but I felt desperate to do something to make myself feel better. Anyhoo I am home now and have slept loads and feel good again. On the plus side we have raised over £6000 for 3 local charities, a homeless shelter, a hospice and a charity that helps families who have lost children. What an experience
