Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Hi all,
Almost finished clearing stuff from the yard now. Loaded about 40 junk tires up yesterday. Boy was that a job. Slept like a ton of bricks. Sold off all the cement blocks which were in the yard. There were so many. The people who bought them couldn't get their truck to pull them up the hill and had to go get a bigger truck. 2 loads of blocks. Thare is a lot of junk lumber, which we will pull out today. It is scary and snakey and spiderey. Haven't seen and snakes so far, but a couple black widows.......Pauly and Drifty, we are all around the same af time. Pauly, sorry about your windw. .....Lizann, nice of you to sneak the pasta in. Sorry it is all rough though and so hard on your Mom........Glassie, good luck on the job front........ Nora, Rusty everyone have a great day.....b

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Hi everyone. Had another f**k it day and called in. I stupidly missed 2 or 3 days of my med so yesterday was not a good day. Very teary, upset, anxious. Work was the same s**t I deal with everyday but just so tired of it.
So today, I am sitting here reading a book, kicked back, will sit out in the backyard for a bit and I will enjoy life. I was feeling guilty but I am letting that go. Life is short - I made the decision to stay home so I'm going to enjoy it :yay:Last edited by NoraC; June 13, 2018, 12:03 PM."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Glad to see everyone taking it one day at a time.
Glassie - how did your interview go? Really, you're looking for a higher stress job?!?!?!
Drifty - congratulations on your new job. Tell us all about it.
Liz - sending good thoughts your way. My brother came over yesterday and Mom called him by name. Talked to him, told him she loved him, held his hand. It was great. I'm glad he got to see that."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Nora, glad you had a day off! Sometimes you just need to stop and smell the roses! Tonight after I left dad I went to a park close by and just walked for 20 minutes. I was truly "in the moment". It was wonderfully peaceful.
Glassie, good luck on the job and interview. You certainly are a go getter!
BIrd, I was exhausted just reading what you did today! Progress is a beautiful thing.
Rainy and humid here today, but I'm happy to be running around in shorts. FaceTimed with CJ and Joe today and the countertop is halfway in already. It looks beautiful. I should post before and after photos here so you can see their progress, hmmm.
Happy hump day.! Waves to Pauly Rusty and drifty! Hope you're all doing well!

Bird - wanted to tell you CONGRATULATIONS on leaving the beer aisle! Fantastic. I hope that you have a good visit with your friend. It sure sounds like you are getting a lot of stuff cleared out though. Great!
Liz - the kitchen is amazing. Wow! Are they doing this to flip it or are they going to keep it? Sure is beautiful there.
I haven't really been able to keep up with everyone lately. Will try to catch up soon.
I was reading a book and a woman had taken a vicodin for pain because she had been shot. In the next scene, she was going on about how wonderful she felt and that it was better than alcohol. Scary thought. I've never been prescribed it and now will make sure that I'm not."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Nora, when I gave birth to Brady they sent me home with 3 percocet pills for pain, after a few nights of being up all night with him I told hubs it was his turn for the night and decided to take one of the pills and get some sleep,I tell you I was sooooo euphoric and happy it was unbelievable! Lasted for about 30 minutes then I fell into a deep sleep,I can understand why there's such an addiction to pain pills,I'm glad I've never had to take any again,I'm sure it wouldn't turn out well cuz yes it did feel better than drinkingI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Pauly - yep, that's what I would be scared of. Like I said, I know people that take it occasionally for the high. No thank you!
We are sure lazy bums over here. I'm slumped in a corner of the couch. Hubby has fallen asleep on the other end of the couch. Mom is dozing for a few minutes and then waking up. It's not even 7:00 and I think we all could go to bed. :harhar:"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Hey guys! Funny you should mention Vicodin and Percocet. My dad was writhing in pain tonight and all they would give him is Tylenol! I get there is an addiction problem, but he's 89 years old. Where do you draw that line. Rough night with daddy. It's a long story and I'm wiped. Sissys were soo worried about me drinking, they thought for sure I would tonight. That just annoyed me even more. Coincidence that your talking pain Meds,
Took Lucy to the vet this morning, she's due for a cleaning, vet said she has never seen teeth as good as hers for a small older dog! I brush them every night. I was so pleased and relieved. Yay me.
Let's see, this weekend is Logan's birthday party and I'm working Saturday. Sunday we will no doubt go to see dad. Nothing planned with my hubby. Maybe the kids will stop by. What's everyone else up to?
Nora, they eventually plan to sell it. For now they will live in it while renovating the other properties. The guys never came to finish the countertop. Hopefully tomorrow.
We still don't have a date for mark leaving. He has a few apartments to choose from and they say a visa takes two to six weeks! I have a feeling he's going to be scrambling last minute, but that's what we expect, so.Last edited by Lizann; June 14, 2018, 09:31 PM.
