Sorry, Liz, Cross-Post. I think maybe your hubs is acting indifferent/less than supportive about your parents is because he is sad and scared. My uncle had Parkinson's disease and declined over a period of many years. His son-in-law, Bruce, and he, were SO close for 15 years or so..they would go fishing and boating together, take trips. When my uncle started declining and he became almost blind and couldn't speak, Bruce did what your hubs did...pulled away and did things for my uncle very begrudgingly. He confided in my uncle's wife that he was just very, very sad to see my uncle decline, and couldn't bear the thought of being with him when all Bruce remembered was the retired executive who was once so full of life. Maybe that's how your hubs is feeling now? Men don't handle fear well a lot of times. Anyway, just my two cents. I would be FURIOUS if my daughter and grandson were in an accident and nobody told me til later. What difference would it have made if they had told you at that moment or a day later as far as drinking????? That makes no sense IMHO. Love you.

X-POST again, Liz!. Yes, you will see the pictures on Facebook. Elizabeth Rusty is her name. Thank you for asking, sweetheart. I absolutely adore her. Could not have asked for a sweeter or more loving niece. She treats me and my mom like gold.

How is everyone's Saturday going? Just came from dad. He was agitated and even got angry with me at one point. He didn't want to eat. He eventually fell asleep. Anyone else into the World Cup soccer? Not really my thing but hubby and the kids love it. A nice distraction, though.

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Pauly that story about the little girl in the bathroom is hilarious. Thanks for the laugh!
Gosh – we all have so much going on in our lives. Aren’t we lucky we have found each other and are able to share so much here.
This probably sounds a bit weird but whenever I look at that blanket I imagine little HRH being about 18 (in 2032) and in a college dorm. Her friend says “What on earth is that?” And HRH replies “I know, isn’t it hideous? My grandmother made it so I had to bring it.” But then when the friend leaves she’ll snuggle under it and call me to discuss our next adventure. (Looks like I may have to go back to Antarctica after all!).Last edited by Glass Half Empty; June 23, 2018, 05:58 PM.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

I love that coffee making machine! I just got hooked on browsing toys from the 60's. I was trying to remember a toy that I got from the Easter Bunny one year. LOL"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2018
Hi all,
Feeling good today. DD2 going to Macon for a week. Hope that will help some. She is still very angry. DD1 trying to do better and did her laundry, mowed both lawns. DD2 said she didn't want to come back but she thought I would be sad if she didn't. Well I am sad now, that she will not be in the same room with her sister! Oh well, there is nothing I can do but give it time. They are young.....Pualy, sorry hubs is acting weird. That is funny about the bathroom!!......Rusty, glad you only have to work one day. Have fun...........Lizann, garages aren't meant for cars. That is where you put all your tools and mess:happy2:....sorry your dad got angry...very tough......Glassie, wonderful visual of HRH @ 18....love it....Nora, I love old toys. I have som blocks that belonged to my dad, and old books my grandmother read to me....b

Good morning! Happy Sunday! Today is my nieces birthday and we will go out to lunch with them, yay! I have a new outfit to wear, it's the little things, you know?
bird I hope the separation of your daughters relieves some of the tension. Most of all I'm glad you're feeling good today!
Time to get ready for church. Hope you all have a great day!

Hello, Hello.
I hope that today is a wonderful day for everyone. I
My car won't start. We think it is the battery. Hubby is trying to charge it enough to get me to the auto store. Sigh......I certainly take my car starting for granted until it doesn't. LOL"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett
