Have to say it's been a rough week. The warmer weather seems to go hand in hand with the urge to drink, but I am fighting it tooth and nail. Another sober week for me, and I am very grateful!

Re: Super Sober Shout Out Sunday 10th June 2018

Very grateful to have somewhere to go to get help when I need it and to still support me when I fail.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

3 years, 4 months, and 28 days for me, and there's a message in that for everyone trying to quit; if an old drunken cowboy like me can do it, so can you!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

I may be on day 2 but I know that I can make it to 7 years again and this time go further. I just got to beat this demon. I want control of my life. I want to be able to wake up early and not worry about how hungover I am or trying to live through the motions of life with a hangover.
