Be careful what you wish for, lovely!
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Really lovely to 'see' you Bridge. Sorry to hear that things aren't going great for you. Some are having a rough time so we're having a Happy & Healthy & Self-Caring month.

Count me in. I have had the most hellacious 6 months with a family problem. The most caring gesture I've shown towards myself is to drink Grey Goose instead of Smirnoff. Vive la Francaise! Boozing has been about as helpful as we all know it is(n't). So back I come to start from the beginning.
How have you been Nora?

I am sorry to hear about family problems. Glad to have you join us here though. I hope that things are sorting itself out in your world now though.

I am doing well. We are going to be grandparents very soon so I am over the moon.

Hi everyone!

Rusty, sorry about the noisy plane ride! A friend of mine just posted on fb yesterday that she was flying home. Before takeoff the pilot announced it was baby Noah's first flight and mom and dad had earplugs for everyone on board:welldone: I've been on both sides of that situation and let me tell you neither one is fun. Hope you get some swim time in. SOrry about your vaca. I hope you get a chance to take another one since this one didn't work out,

Hello Bridge and welcome here. I look forward to getting to know you.

Drifty, I hope you remain strong. Can you treat yourself to something else? Maybe shopping or a spa or a nice dinner out?

NOra, thanks for noticing how Hubby put the umbrella on the stroller! He insisted on it even though I had trouble seeing where I was going. It's really not a great stroller, live and learn. Glad it's not that hot anymore,

Self care for today, I went to the thrift store and bought myself a book! Almost finished with my current read.

Waves to everyone and wishing us all a great AF night.

Ahh how amazing...and you will be enjoying it all sober. Even better

Thanks Lizanne. I think we must have missed each other first time around.

Yes - I am glad that my granddaughter will not see that side of me. I'm sorry that my son had to see it but those days are over.

Liz - I'm trying to figure out all the little tricks again. And to be honest, I feel like my DIL is going to be very positive on what she wants and what's best for the baby. So, I will definitely want to keep the sun out of the baby's eyes. LOL

Morning All,
Thank you for the welcome.
Good to see you bird Seems like a few of us are drifting back for various reasons. I had my first AF night in some time last night and I can remember all of the bad television. In a few days the sleep patterns will improve and on I go from there. Here goes....

Re: One Step at a Time - Dry (And Healthy, Self-Caring) July 2018

Hello all. Pauly, I did get your message & replied.

Took Mom to the Dr today. I had recorded one of the episodes of Mom saying letters over & over. I showed the Dr that so she could get an idea of what we were talking about. However, Mom ended up having an episode while the Dr was in there. She started counting and shaking, breathing fast. They checked her blood sugar or anemia or something and pulse-ox. Nothing wrong. The Dr is going to call Hospice and see if we can get mom certified again. Otherwise, she is looking into some type of palliative care so that the nurse will come here. So, we just wait to hear. We do go back on Friday for her bloodwork and for us to have the 'tdap' shot. We all have to have that before the baby.

Pauly - I have never thought of you as a selfish poster!!! Absolutely not.

Bridget - What's happening today? I still am just happy to see you. :yay:

Bird - I would totally be over having my stuff in storage too!!

Liz - Logan is so dang cute. Are mommy & daddy home now? How did he do with them being gone? Is this the first time that he was away from them? So, how are you doing with Mark's relocation? Don't forget to come here & vent. Talk about it and get it off your chest. I was just looking thru my journal and I see that I sure came here & vented a lot when I started getting wobbly.

Glassie - when is your paper due? How's work going? How is HRH?

Rusty - how are things going? I know not great but are you getting some pool time in?
