Re: One Step at a Time - Dry (And Healthy, Self-Caring) July 2018

Well - somehow hubby & I got thinking about the watusi and decided to dance. Then we looked up the dance on youtube to try to imitate. :rotlf: What a sight to see. At least it's good exercise. :dancegirl:

I must have been clenching my jaw all day - my teeth & jaw & ear all hurt. I'll try to sit with my mouth open for awhile and see if it relieves the pressure. Now - that is an attractive sight :harhar:

Oh - I am so glad to hear that. I hope that there will be improvement. The liver is remarkable. My dad had part of his liver removed and the doctors did mention that it would regenerate(long story - yes he was an alcoholic but he developed a liver infection that almost killed him. The infection had nothing at all to do with alcohol unbelievably. Happy part of the story is that he never drank another drop and he survived for another 10 years or more very happy and grateful)

So nice to see so many posting here. A lot of support and encouragement for me and I so appreciate it! I am just so grateful for each one of you! My sister called today, she was by my dad. She was unable to wake him. He slept through the night, which isn't usual. His labs are slightly off and the thinking was an IV would help. So far nothing. TS and I left him at 8 tonight and he's not woken up for a solid 24 hours. Covering Doctor wanted to admit him to the hospital, we refused. Hoping for some kind of change tomorrow, we shall see. I'll go over in the morning to see how the night went.

My thoughts and prayers are with your Dad Lizann, for him and the whole family...
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

My daughter simply cannot drink alcohol. It affects her body much more than most. Her doc said she had the liver of someone who had been drinking for years and years.

On the other hand, I abused my liver just as badly as she did and lft's keep coming back fine. Doctors are amazed.

I keep reminding myself that alcohol is actually a poison. For some of us more than others.

Wave to all Steppers. Off to take granddaughter to school orientation.
