Re. the packing a Mháire - went camping with 4 kids to the wilds of Kerry many moons ago - no toothbrushes (no shops for about 40 miles on country 'roads') no underwear -- for anyone and no torch... we were like the ancient Romans - once it got dark we had to go to bed
Another time - Joey announced he was old enough to pack his own case going to the Canaries - kicked up such a fuss I gave in and gave him a lovely big empty bag with instructions of what he needed -- arrived in Lanzarote - opened the case and it was jammers full...………………………. of teddy bears - he had filled the whole case with every teddy bear in the house.... mmmm --

Speaking of former members - did you keep in touch with any of the Undies? Was especially wondering about Tawny. She is a very unique woman!
I did hear about poor Mario. Very sad business. I have kept in contacts with some of the Undies and the ones I have are going gang busters.
You know, I thought Oney had stacks of kids for some reason. Then again, it has been years.

I love the sound of a forest party!!!

Funny about your Brownies group, JC. Did you ever see that programme Ladette to Lady? Jeez I used to laugh at that.

Your life will always be filled with challenges.

It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

This quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said,

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you've had a drink.... there is no better time than right now to be happy".
Just quoting this one so I can save it. How very very true.

I am jealous too Satz

I woke with a headache (too much sun I think) and ran through my mind what it would have been like if caused by AL. I would not have got up and gone for a walk in the beautiful sunshine with no one else about other than the odd runner or cyclist. I would not have run round the park playing fetch with my dogger and shrieking like a lunatic when he got something right, I would not have focussed on mindfulness and doing an exercise based around what I can see, feel and hear right at that moment, I would not have come home done some chores and then sat down with a lovely coffee and toast and jam, I would not have planned the remainder of the day while walking and run through potential dodgy moments at the barbie later which might bring up a craving and what to do if that happens (I will eat and play a rerun tape of previous escapades) I would not have been grateful that I am sticking to my plan
Was thinking exactly the same thing today starty . I cleaned the house from top to bottom. Started on the garden makeover (boy did that get away from me) washed the car, cooked. Generally had a good old potter. Beats the crud out of staying on the lounge in a half dose all day.

stirly-girly..........it must be love.......:heartbeat:.....the BBQ's later today.

Our only vegan isn't coming as he's in Italy...........the damned cheek of him. I've got 12 vegan burgers, 12 vegan sausages and some vegan mayonnaise going spare.........and vegan bread buns....sorry there's no vegan butter only lard

BTW Croatia will win the World Cup...........if they were good enough to beat England they'll annihilate the French.

I think that's so sweet about Joey, brought a wee tear to my cynical auld eye.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Starty, you should have been here when we had the United Nations of BBQs..........my cousin's Jewish husband who only eats fish......had his own grill, a friend who had just converted to Islam..........halal meat only had his grill..........the veggies had their grills ( we borrowed the neighbours) and I ate a whole bag of crisps because I was sick of the sight of food.

I should do one of those food tolerance tests as they come through the door.

I take people pleasing to a brand new level.

I even bent over so they could park their bikes.

Me and Mr JC were just talking about the first time his Ma & Pa went on a cruise and went on and one about all the lovely nookie they'd had while on board........we just sat there gob-smacked......:egad:...until they said they prefered the one in the tomato sauce..........it was gnocchi.
