As for hanging on to mates.........our lives have intertwined over the years and I'm keeping her because she's shorter than me and still makes me howl laughing. She's actually going to a gig tonight with the bloke next door.........but I've got to tell everyone its not a date............so I'm telling you now its not a date. Reckon withoutmaking an announcement in The Times that covers just about everyone.

Lidl & Aldi kinda scare me - 'cos when they came to Ireland first they were very aggressive & cold - and that was just the staff. It was like where hope went to die.
I used it only to buy my cheap wine & gin - so another reason it creeps me out.

I go mostly to Super-Valu - smaller - not too much choice, Irish owned & Irish produce.
I can afford to be picky when there is only 2.5 of us living here now

I know DD here feels that pressure too - though she throws herself into work instead.

I'm exactly the same - love the local shops - and Super-Valu is smashing - even good butchers..
When Adam was just out of college Lidl came along and were offering graduates great money and Audi cars - the car nearly swung it for him - was a bit terrified that he'd go there but thankfully he heard the stories of how the staff were treated..

Don't think I ever howl laughing sober -- achully dunno that I ever did drunk either... guess I'm just not very laughy

RC it sounds like you have plenty of social interaction. Dunno how you stand the pace of all that!

Satz have you seen your misfits lately? Think one of them was Gerald? That was a lovely story

I sometimes wonder if anyone would come to my funeral :haha:

My mums friends were all way older than her (my Dad was 20 years older and most of the friends were his age) so she reckoned when she popped her clogs we'd have to 'rent a mob' for the funeral

Though my two pals would come ....... and a few other misfits like myself I've met over the years ......

Starts yes I see them and we do lunch when we can - MrS got a little job doing Ger's garden and now he wants him back again. He's himming & hawwwing about it.
He's being so odd about them - but I'm happy in their company.

It's ok for HIM to be pally with 2 dollybird-twentysomethings in his old job - visit them in the office and go out with them ......... I dunno !!!!
