Re: July Army Manoeuvres

have to say I never lied doing that test - always knew my relationship with alcohol wasn't quite 'right' even when superficially it was perfectly al'right' - just held an importance in my life that it shouldn't have had - in my thoughts.. ya know?
Doubt if I'm going anywhere Jacks - himself has just pulled his back out - oh tbh I'm SICK of all these ailments - like a pair of aul wans we are.... ffs!!!!
I do love the not having any questions about the drinking/not drinking - it's extraordinarily freeing.. but it takes a while to feel that freedom - as you all know I say it as I see it - I didn't find it hard in the end to quit drinking - really didn't at all - but did find it harder to replace it in my life and get joy.. that was harder

it's fantastic tho Rusty to see so many around here now getting serious sobriety going... for a long time there were only a few true long-termers and we all looked to them... but now - loads and loads piling up years and years - it's super really..
how you keeping anyway Rustyone??

RunningCourage.........thanks for your answers............and hope its opened a dialogue with yourself. IMO if we keep the doors slightly open its only a matter of time before the flood.
Still no idea about the pong, but seems worse in the morning.........think its coming from the outside and something to do with the heat.

Bummer about the hols, Molls. Think we're looking at back end of October now. Talking about Airbnb.............found a lush little place for when I'm over to the Emerald Isle at the beginning of October........£40 a night..........fab reviews.

Rusty......typical alkie behaviour.........we always want to start the party early
It could be worse, I could be filing.

It is great to see the stalwarts still around. Very helpful and shows how living a sober life can be done successfully

I do wonder what happened to a lot of those not posting any longer though

By all means, come on down. Bad news is we can't get CBD oil here. Customs bugger off with it according to the forums. I bet those buggers have some parties after work with the confiscated goods.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Morning troops.

Got up at 5... ran up a hill... had brekkie. Now want to go back to sleep :haha:

Agreed starty , it is good to hear and read of those long termers (sounds like yer prisoners!) ... always looking for inspiration in others who don't drink... I think my supervisor at Uni is one such lady. She's great. Funny, acerbic, smart, irreverent.

Off to look at the blue sky. Cos I can... and then... Oh need to buy contact lens solution.

Morning Army brats
Did big LONG day in work yesterday so off today :hyper:
Had 2 runaways - :egad: they get it into their heads they can just walk out & go home. Once that seed is planted they are devious and impossible to keep an eye on.
The facility likes the residents to feel ' at home' but doors wide open on a sunny day is very tempting.
These are all strong independant women like us who have raised their kids - large families - in some cases - so that streak of 'I can do this' is still there.
Sad really that the body lets them down

WTF you gettin' up at 5 for D'Arsey ? That's the middle of the night.
I like your supervisor - I like irreverence

Yes but isn't it great when people ( like you just did) see past the 'shell' that is their old bodies - inside its all the same really just a bit jumbled:hug:

I've realised that the person I am on here is the REAL me.
I think the REAL me goes to work too.
But :
Mr S is down there but when we talk it will be so superficial -
I'll meet my sister later and that will be the same.

Just in a 'vacant or pensive mood' - 'cos, like D'Arsey - I can ....

I get all that - and it's only in latter years that I realise I'm not quite the same as everyone else - without a doubt somewhat on the spectrum in a minorish way - so it's nearly like an 'excuse' to be more honest with people - obviously with work colleagues a lot is superficial shite - but I've very few people in my life - but anyone who is - I'm generally fairly open with them - whether they like it or not!!!!
