    Re: July Army Manoeuvres

I'm so self absorbed -- poor little bow wow - he'll be okay with you there to mind him:hug:
and yes - horrible story bout Stirly's nephew - I did drink-drive - ashamed of myself to admit - but I did - and looking back my blood runs cold - not at what could have happened to me but everyone and everything I encountered -
Since I got sober I've once driven when in hindsight I really shouldn't have - it was Day 2 of quitting cigarettes - and I was woozy, sleepy and just not right - and that night after I'd driven home from work I was horrified that I had taken such a chance - never once questioned my driving under the influence.. horrible
    Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011
    contentedly NF since 8/04/14

Thanks Molls, I will be delighted when he is home again!

Drink driving is something I NEVER did until the last few years when I would have a few sips before work etc. Just shows it always gets worse.

Yep withdrawing from anything is a recipe for disaster when driving is concerned and it is something we wouldnt usually consider. I drove coming off pills and I dont think should

Gawd, it is lucky any of us are alive!!!

        Very late check-n.
Oh Stirls, that is tragic. I remember the first time you shared it. Heart-breaking.

I used to be so straight-laced about not drinking and driving, never did it .........until it dawned on me that driving with a hangover is as dangerous. You're still getting rid of the previous day's toxins, prolly still half pissed and betond tired on top of it.

Poor doggo, Starty. I rang our vet about 10 times the day Bess got spayed to see if she was all right.

The SIL (Mr JC's sister) can go whistle, but she's better not leave her handbag about in the near future. That's the healing power of a nanna nap.

Satz, I want one of those lollies, for my MIL.......she's laugh herself daft. Can you just take young Satz keys and chuck them down the drain.........if he can afford to drink he can afford a taxi.

Is Mers, rowing to Wales with her crew???

Rustletops, feet up and crochet out?
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I'll try get one & post it Jacks.

On the car & the keys - I am not his keeper. He is 37 years old & neither of us care enough any more to reprimand him, much less take his keys and thus take ownership of his problem for him.
I'm beginning to thoroughly dislike him - and wish he would leave.
I really do not give a fuck any more.

Molls, I hope you got some sleep! I got very little. I woke to the strains of a very loud Youtube Learn to Draw tutorial when my pc rebooted itself in the early hours :haha:

It's a right pain in the arse. I had hot flashes day and night. I can still remember distinctly the morning that I lay in bed gathering the strength to get up and I had 7 (I counted them) hot flashes in 20 minutes. It was seriously one of the worst times of my life and the main reason I went back to drinking - so I could sleep at night. It was a fecking nightmare. Hope you get over it soon, Starty. Jackie has recommended some kind of tea - kohosh, I think it's called. Maybe give it a try.

I understand, too Satzy, but being me, I would feel guilty if something happened and I knew that I could have done something to prevent it. Jackie put it well - if he can afford to drink, he can afford a taxi. Of course, what you do is your choice. I too, would be fed up to the teeth and there have been many times when I have realized that there are qualities in my older son that I really don't like. They may be our kids but that doesn't mean we have to like who they turned out to be!

Like I said yesterday, I'd have taken a saw to the cast and removed it as soon as I got home. Seriously. If I ever break a bone they are going to have to put one of those plastick splint thingeys that have velchro that you can remove when you want to. Otherwise, I'll be :nutso: And yes, take advantage of it and play the helpless maiden to the fullest!!!

Starts, that made me laugh right out loud. It sounds like something that would happen to me. My special friend called me yesterday (well, not him, exactly - his phone called me. I answered with my sweetest voice only to hear his weed-cutter. Phone was in his pocket and called my number by mistake!

Good morning everyone. Sorry about the bad nights sleep Molly and Stirly. Enjoy Kerry, it really is the kingdom. Hope your doggie is ok Stirly. Terrible what happened your nephew Starty. Can’t really give any advice re the car Satz, as you say he is an adult and sooner or later will suffer the consequences of his actions. You keep detaching and look after number one. Both my daughters have traits I don’t like and would really struggle having to live with the older one again, we are better at a distance but I still worry.

I went to bed at 9:45 last night and had a great sleep so feel much better today. Better shower and go to work.
