Re: August Army Manoevres
Just been to gather up the waives and strays from last month...........
I'm doing a timeline to start with........I'll write it down because I get white coat syndrome and start nodding, simpering and agreeing. Mr JC has promised to nudge me hard in the ribs if I do. One of the secretaries where he works has promised to type up my letter using very long words and it'll be sent recorded delivery.
Obviously, the most important thing is my health and I'm hoping I'm sent away with no further appointments.
Right, that's enough of that.
We're going to the local auction house this weekend and a visit here ............Pots & Paws gifts, homeware and garden
And have I told you lately how much I appreciate the lot of yis. :heartbeat:Last edited by JackieClaire; August 1, 2018, 05:07 AM.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: August Army Manoevres
Early evening troops... there was me hanging out in July, thank you JC for hauling our arses over to August.
New sofa here. Loungable. Just been hanging out me windows cleaning them - 2 floors up, bit precarious, but back in and I can see out. Only the second time I've done that in the 2 years Ive been here. Tonight more cleaning. I'm making the most of it while my cat is still on her holibags (at my folks).
Good that you are writing that letter, JC. Totally agree with satz re writing it down in a letter and sending it puts it into black and white your experience, and it's written evidence of a sort. Fingers crossed that you are sent away with no more appointments.
If anyone is Edinburgh over the festival period, there's a show on from a comic about his relationship/recovery from booze - young man, only 29 - Booze, bankruptcy, brain haemorrhage: the comics turning tragedy into laughs | Stage | The Guardian
Off to check the roasted veg...

JC's writing a very important letter.
Satz finds the old folks at work inspiring.
Starty has escaped the Grecian fires, but it was close
Bridge has been telling God she works with some shitheads
Rusty's been al fresco entertaining, showing off them b-b-q skills
Mary discovered her garden resembled The Day of the Triffids
Arsey bought a sofa
Tabbers is doing the silent treatment
So is Toe-Knee
And whizzy...
And now i is to bed.

Re: August Army Manoevres
Here goes.
Finding it hard to talk about this - it's so final.
Spoke to the consultant today - had a 'family meeting'.
My mother has not a long time left - the lung disease will get her within the next year he said.
I want her to go quickly - I do not want to have her struggle to find her breath with the panic & distress that causes.
I had visions of moving her into 'my' nursing home and make her comfortable - but he says she needs proper on site medical care .
This means her moving to a HSE run facility in the Phoenix Park - not too shabby it has to be said but more hospital like.
It's a beautiful setting to be fair - with deer roaming the grounds and she'll be able to wave to the Pope from her window when he visits.
And of course our President lives just up the road.

Re: August Army Manoevres
satz123, Im so sorry about that news today  That is never going to be a welcome conversation.
I dont know that place in the phoenix park, but what a lovely address.. Sounds like the right place for her to be comfortable, plus your brother cant argue with that.
Have they a bed straight away?
Have your written your letter JackieClaire?
Arsey, brilliant summary. I vote Arsey does that every night :happy2:
on sleeping.. I developed habitual insomnia many years ago - about the time I started drinking alone actually. 1 week on sleeping pills and I was back into a rhythm again. The doctor knew there was something else up, kept asking me about drinking/drugs...
How are you doing on the booze?
Project garden moved indoors today. rain rain go away...AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: August Army Manoevres
Oh Satz that is the worst conversation in the world to have and such a shock. I am sorry you had to go through that. I do hope she accepts her new residence and she gets wonderful care and attention there.
RC thank you for the summary
Sorry about the rain Mary. Gonna be a scorcher here today hope yours clears up too
