Jacks would love to get spin down to see you that weekend, it's Daddy's birthday the 7th and we had talked bout taking him away somewhere for few days but if that ain't happening Id be in Dublin before ye know it! Glad you are getting away somewhere. Scotland looks lovely. Jeez I dunno what size yer piggy banks are over there Tyne side but mines would hardly buy me a feckin doormat never mind door!

Wouldn't say I'm struggling, have had those wee niggley thoughts of drinking lately tho. Just getting lost and hiding in that cocoon of nothingness was appealing. Sorry I have been awol. Couple of days not feeling terribly well and tired. Better now though. Off to retreat tomorrow and after this week at work it could not come soon enough!

Bridge, I get the frustration with numpties at work. There are many and they do frustrate the hell out of me along with the lazy arses who take the piss, and the fantasists who blatantly lie about their position. A guy who works for me has been heard telling people he has an important new function and has implied he has been promoted. Its bollox and I have just asked him to do a simple job lease:

Pea, so sorry to hear about your dad. It must be tough and so young too. I feel fortunate in the way my mum passed (which sounds ridiculous and awful I know) but at least I still knew her. So scary and worrisome for you.

We have a gardener coming today to sort out our tip of a garden. Its just so many weeds that grow in days and take over the whole thing. He is lovely and spends loads of time playing with the dogs too. Bonus !

Jax, are you flying Ryan air? Hope they dont cancel at last min. They did that to me once and I had to buy a more expensive flight. Bstards

With mother the way she is who knows what will be happening - consultant says another infection could be fatal come September and Winter bugs. She only has 20% lung function and an exacerbation is likely in Winter & could wipe that out

BUT if all's well I will be rostered to work that weekend - but I can try get a swap for the Sunday 7th and meet you & Molls and whoever else in town.

Seriously tho - it baffles me how up their own arses some of these ones are - and bless them - there are feck all promotional opportunities where I work - we had a promotion embargo for 8 years during the recession so now everyone with the qualifications are queueing up for poxy little bits of improvement - so they are all self important with nothing to show for it - I just leave them at it - what annoys me tho is that myself and others that have been around a fair while end up picking up the pieces when they cock up!

You frigging crack me up Molls. My boss is a PhD student. Almost completed but he couldn't organise a fuck in a brothel. If I hadn't had kids.......Oh well , enough of that.

I haven't booked anywhere to stay yet and the flight is so cheap I can afford to cancel.

You have no idea how much I would love to come 'up' for that, only it would take a 72 hour flight stopping in half the world and then bus train plane and automobile (donkey moped)

If my flight was canceled I'd just come home............there's only a couple of flights to Dublin a day and they're usually packed. I'd get me money back under some EU rule and I'm only a couple of miles from the airport.

Now listen, if you can you will if you can't don't. Simples.

HAHA!! I s'pose in a way the difficulty for the wannabee's at the mo. to get promoted beyond jnr management means by the time they actually get there they may be of some use - who are there at the moment are positively useless - makes me laugh tbh I just leave them at it and do my own job - that's all I'm paid for!!

Another hot summers day here - my hand feels all swollen up under the cast - driving me mad - need to get this off in hospital on Monday - so sick of it!

Knitting needle & have a good scratch.

My mother's cast was on for 5 weeks - then a splint.

She'll look at it and say
"I'm sick of this - it's been on at least a week.
And I haven't seen a doctor since I came in last week"

- she's there since 20th June :haha:
