I wish we could meet at a better time for you @brit but I completely understand where you are at. Very frightening for everyone. Not to mention pissed off, I'm sure. So many total bastards in the world, and they all seem to be walking around just fine!
I just hope that you are getting the support that you need (maybe not people suggesting you have a few drinks...)

If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Well Bridgee, you'll never believe this but I was just minutes ago was having a stompy rant saying exactly the same thing to Mr JC.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

I'm absolutely aware that it's not helping the mental state. It never, ever does. Anyway, onwards!
Are you keeping the chill going after the retreat? This is the challenge, isn't it?

Oh, I believe it!! It's one of those basic life truths that just wind me up. Bad things happen to very good people. And beasts get away with being beastly!

Hey Bridgey - it is incredible how many of us would describe ourselves as 'self-reliant' - as if it's a virtue - I know I do..... and if there's a major flaw in my sobriety I guess that's it.. I still can't reach out very well - maybe to Joe -- no one else. except maybe here -- as I've always said MWO was never enough to get and keep me sober - hence the 'maybe' --- but I guess I was a hard case:eek-new:

I've always thought that we need as many weapons in the arsenal as possible. You refer a lot to the treatment centre that you went to Molls. You obviously got a lot out of it. And it's lasted, I see.

Jenny's doing the GNR again next month..........you can show her how its done. You didn't finish your Keanu Reeves picture book last time you were here.
I'd better feed himself before he starts making whimpering noises.

I'm off to watch the sun rise and make sure the day works out OK so that I can package it up and send it your way in good shape.
Got to say, its good to be up at dawn again without a hangover.

It was what made the difference to me - I just wasn't getting it till then and it has lasted - so far -- but I do forget the basics sometimes - and I need to be enough in touch with that side of it that I could realise I need a blast of AA for a while or something - we'll see. but I reckon maybe more vigilance.....

Evening peeps, was just going to go to bed but thought would have a late night peek in and I find... whizzy
brit - so sorry to hear about Mr A(b) - that's a damn difficult place to be for both of you. Scary too, I'm sure. And even though it brought you to fill yer hoose with posh wine, sometimes somethings gotta give. No judgement. That's what so great about here. No judgement. Understanding we are all humans, fallible, frail, yet incredibly powerful souls too.

I do have very fond memories of running with you at both Windermere and Chester (the only time I've been to Wales! - Chester marathon pops into Wales folks, Arsey does know Chester is in Englandshire). Anyways, you know there's some of the wisest peeps here and I am so very glad you knew and could come here.

Big hugs to you - and Mr A(b) x
