Bogia - Netflix... https://www.netflix.com/title/70208792
it's all about a...
Pope :haha:
Alexander VI no less. Comes across as a quite evil licentious soul. Lot's of sex - the pope's at with young mistresses, the cardinals are at it with each other :egad:, barbaric violence, drug taking, endless swilling of vino collapso.... If ever one thought the RC church was in any way puritan, they'll be shocked. Hedonism ruled. God was an excuse. Religion a front. Hmmm... actually not so far from some quarters of organised religion today.... Interestingly (or not) (it is for me, cos i used to live here...) Pope Alexander VI was influential in the creation of King's College, Aberdeen - now part of Aberdeen Uni. Pope Alexander VI - Wikipedia

Re: August Army Manoevres
Hello Molls and good to see you Whizzy - keep close.
Kids back tomorrow, but I've got an easy start - no needing to plan anything as I'll probably be assisting teachers with classes. Next week is when got to get to the grindstone.
Tonight I start directing the am dram theatre group - 9-5 - runs from Nov 6-10 if any of youse find yourself in Helensburgh!
It will mean that from a fortnight hence, I'll be out Wed and Thur evenings til late (for Arsey) and all Sun afternoon. the thought of it dreads me, as i'm often so bollixed by about 7pm, and rep's don't START until 7.30pm/8pm!! But it's only for 12 weeks. I can survive. Actually, it'll be good for me. Get out there and have my life be consumed with something other than teaching or running by myself. It's a good ting.
Right, better get some desert... ice-cream methinks.

LOVED the Borgia's -- love Jeremy Irons anyway - but the series was amazing!!!
You're right to fill up the evenings for a while Arsey if you're thinking of moving on the grog - the less time the better....
Now gonna get my grub -- starving marvin!!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: August Army Manoevres
Helloooooooooooo
RunningCourage......will it be luvvie or dahling from now on? Took me two goes to get into the Netflix version...........just couldn't get Borgia's broad American accent the couple of times.......did power through as its gruesome, raunchy and tbh highly entertaining if you put your tongue in cheek.
Molls, the Jeremy Iron's Borgia sounds like it was done properly. I'm just having a re-run of second series of Versaille (got a brain like a seive so need to get up to speed) so I can start season three. Just love the king and his brother.
Just how long have the powers that be known he was coming? Disorganised is the word that comes to mind.
You lucky lot the Pope in August and JC in October
brit..............we'll be tracking you all the way round. Mr JC nearly passed out withdelight when he saw you cross the finishing line. Bugger about the op. Honestly. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Yes Jacks - Jeremy et al did a great job on the Borgias - again imho --- didn't see the American lot --- or achully -- hold on --- think we MAY have -- ringing a bell there - and I think I was underimpressed…………
I'm orf to bed now - tired out indeed!!! Night all --
Was just thinkin - anyone who's still in the grip of the aul grog - still drinking or early days sobriety - please don't feel ye can't talk it out here -- it is our business - not Netflix or HMT or none of that shit - that's peripheral -- we are here as a group of addicts - some sober a day - some not sober yet - some sober months and years -- and we are ALL one lift of the elbow away from the same place --- so -- ah yiz know what I mean -- talk it out - if you want to -- otherwise this place is a waste of space and we should be on Instagram or FB or something.... lecture over

Those still drinking who just want to be part of something while they consider going sober - join in. It's how I began my sober journey 5 years ago.
Also anyone else who wants find a home on MWO to chit chat - take the leap of faith & join us.Last edited by satz123; August 15, 2018, 04:22 PM.
