So agree about the Pope - not personally I s'pose - seems like a nice gentle sort of man - 38 mill was what I heard - AND IT IS MY MONEY -- I didn't sanction it - I don't want it - I HATE the organisation that calls itself the Catholic Church - they have hurt so many in this country I doubt any family is immune from their evil machinations - even down to being beaten black and blue by the 'Christian Brothers' if you were poor (my husband and many of his age) - obviously the poor little babies and the sexual abuse victims -- oh good god - what is he coming here for....??? Sorry rant over -- and I thought I was going to be away for the pantomime but got my dates wrong...

Sorry Molls - gentle or not - he has to take the blame - he put himself forward and is the head of the org. that perpetuates the abuse of 1000s of children .
They are still self-regulating.

Yes - I know - just have a feeling he'd LIKE to do the right thing.... not strong enough tho - the Vatican are every bit as powerful as they were back in the middle-ages ffs

There's a shelf for pizzas, one for ready meals, one for frozen chips, potato shapes and Birdseye Crispy pancakes, one for frozen gateaux and ice-lollies, and one for frozen peas. We like to keep a healthy eye on our diet...........that was typed with my tongue firmly in cheek.

Run done. Lunch eaten. About to head into the big smoke (Glasgow) to meet up with an old friend/flatmate who I lived with about 18/19 years ago. She's a trained counsellor - holistic therapy type stuff - so catching up to chew her ear about ME :haha: ... but also to see how she is, been a couple of years since we last had a gabber.

Understand the feelings re Pope Franny coming over. Agree with Molls that reckon, on a personal level, he's a genuine forward thinking, caring, thoughtful man. or so I hope. But that the powers and machinations that make up the Vatican are such that it prevents anyone who is pope - even JC if he came back to life and scuffed about the Earth in his Jesus Sandals - to change it for the better. Sadly any positive changes are too many generations too slow...

Does anyone want a potato ricer? Found that on top of the auld freezer. Poor Mr JC is having kittens as he's so out of his comfort zone having to throw stuff out..........he's a hoarder.

Have a good aul chat -- NO man chat's enough imho -- it is incredibly cathartic - and the fact that she's a counsellor as well -- good luck..I still meet my ex-roomie from the treatment centre (mind you - haven't for about 6 months so must get onto her) and it does me so much shagging good - she saw me at my lowest - as did I her - and now we've moved along and our lives are - well - not WONDERFUL - but 'normal' ya know?

Exactly my opinion re. the Pope - unless someone has the wherewithal to weed out the filth in the organisation.. it'll go on as before - NO one man (or woman) could have the power to do that - my mum's first cousin was a bishop or something in the Vatican and well - lets say the stories weren't pretty....

have the house to myself right now (how long will that last?) and it's very very nice

Same here JAcks - stuff gets hidden behind shed.
I frightened the life out of him & told him a family of rats will be moving in.
The stuffing was coming out of a sun lounger cushion and I told him that was the Mammy rat had gnawed it & was making the nest .......
I think I hit home.

I feel a skip coming on.
( for our US / AUS friends - a skip is dumpster that is left outside your gaff ( house) and one can purge crap out of the house & shed.)
