I THINK that the sleep requirement for an individual is often based on what a normal nights sleep was to us when we were really quite young - adult but young - teenage maybe - personally as a teenager (obviously not when on the razz at weekends!!) I used to read anything up to 2am or 3am - and then get up for school - so I think my 'norm' has always been maybe 6 hours - I haven't slept a night through from night till morning since I had children - think the disruptive sleep having babies crying etc. just never fixed itself - I try not to worry about it - but if you are - maybe speak to a doc -- there are lots of sleep aid programmes online - they say they work??
