Re: August Army Manoevres
JC, I like that little car. I do hope it comes in red, as I have a little red car myself that I call the blood blister and I am quite sure that it goes faster (for a Fiesta)
RC I'm pretty sure we have the same brother *deep sigh* He is a chronic under-achiever which shits me to tears but still can't manage to have anything at his house or get anything done despite the fact that he doesn't work at all atm and nor does the wife and I work full time. And I'm old. Anyway rant over. I feel you, mate.
Satzy, I've been spending a lot of time thinking about young Satz lately. It strikes me that this is how my family must have viewed me at times over the years too. Although I wasn't living with them. We always try to convince ourselves that we're only hurting ourselves when we drink, that we are adults and are entitled to live that lifestyle if we wish. Unless you are completely alone in the world (if not, you will be soon!) then you are always affecting someone else with your drinking, often in ways that we could never predict at the time. I know you will have thought about the intervention idea already, along with every other possible angle. I wish I had the answers for all of us.
Anyhoo. Bit of a miserable cold day here so might be a dedicated pottering day while you all sleep peacefully.
By the way, re. sleep problems, I'm going to try Melatonin this week and give that a burl.Last edited by byebyebridgetjones; August 25, 2018, 04:44 PM.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: August Army Manoevres
It is red and its shiny and we can't wait to pick it up.
12:30am here and Mr JC has taken himself to bed so I'm going to have a little me time. I know I can talk the hind legs off a donkey when I get going but just need some quiet.
Did try melatonin and I'm afraid it did swfa for me. I've been a bad sleeper since I appeared on this planet, don't think its going to change now but at least its good sleep.....not unconsiousness.Last edited by JackieClaire; August 25, 2018, 06:32 PM.It could be worse, I could be filing.

byebyebridgetjones JackieClaire - darn fecking sleeping :haha: Like, was up before the larks had even gone to bed this morning. 4.30am :egad: BUT... like you say bridgey, a sober pottering sunday AND F1 is back after the summer break :yay:
As for my brother, bridgey, not sure if mine is a chronic underachiever - he ALWAYS seems to land on his feet. He may not be a communicator, but he is very chilled, tries not to let life get to him. He;s the kind of driver, e.g. who would observe the dick overtaking him with snorting, grunting raving speed and think "probably traffic lights ahead, or some slow traffic that'll slow him right down, i'll likely end up at the same place at the same time... and not have expended a shed load of fuel in getting no where quicker, nor risked my life overtaking on single carriageways..." (I've actually witnessed this by him!). Indeed there are many attributes of his I do like. His lack of communication is NOT one of them! AND he earns shed loads. OK, he lives in a very expensive place (Hove) and has a young family. But he must be earning at least 3 x what I earn as a teacher (he works for American Express... Good choice i reckon JC. We've been using Kia vans at work for the last 9 years. Reliable engine and transmission with plenty of grunt. Never a problem with them (except for their 'spacesaver' spare tyre concept. Stoopid), although we get a new one every 3 years as part of a leasing contract. Happy motoring.Last edited by Guitarista; August 26, 2018, 03:29 AM.

Re: August Army Manoevres
Good morning Army
Bridget I did not think I was a child bride at the time I got married I was nearly 22 and thought I was quite mature.
Lovely looking car JC--glad you got it checked over though
Arsey I have two brothers older than me I feel I can boss them around and organise them . I can imagine your frustration although you seem to handle it OK?
Molly I do hope the birthday party goes well and they all turn up. Pope stuff on media wall to wall here, I guess it is much worse over your way.
Hope cleaning and clearing working out OK Sweetie-- Is your new job less stressful?
Cannot stop thinking of you Satz I reckon it must totally disrupt your home--No words of wisdom from here.
Hiya Mary so glad you are embracing and celebrating the good things of life.
Hello Mr G glad to see you are still trucking along.
Wave to Starty and Rusty.
Mr A gone fishing so having a very free morning. The skies are full of rain so on the couch with marmite on toast and coffee!

Re: August Army Manoevres
Morning
RunningCourage...........have we got the same brother............not the biggest communicator so when I got a text to ask me how I was after being in hospital lead me to think I must have been at death's door.........he always lands on his feet, very laid back except about Newcastle United. He also has this uncanny knack of making money..........for example: a long, long time ago when he was unemployed for a spell he bought a load of cheap eggs.........he got some feathers from somewhere........stuck them on the eggs and went knocking door to door selling them in a rather affluent suburb claiming they were free-range............he made a fortune.........he made a small fortune. And after working as a mental health worker on eons he's managed to retire at 55.
Guitarista..........tbh when I was searching I wanted any car that wasn't blue, grey or white and it had to be an estate...........and that popped up smack on our budget. I've only sat in it.........Mr JC did all the manly stuff. I just sat in the back at the test drive. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: August Army Manoevres
Nice car JC. I have a Kia the SUV type which I am very pleased with. Great for transporting 2 big dogs about and very comfy.
Re brothers. It is my brother who is always trying to get me to do things and me who is the useless vague type. I feel sorry for him having me as a sister
Been feeling really tired the last couple of weeks and a bit unwell sometimes. This morning had teh most awful headache that made me want to vomit so staying in and doing little today.
Waves to all

Ahh, Molly, I was an only child for five and half years and it was bliss and then this blessed wailing infant that ruined my perfect spoilt brat universe..........and it was a boy. :egad:It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: August Army Manoevres
Looks like that's the end of sleep for me.
I thought you were feeling a bit low lately, Starts. Might be time for a bit of a check up and over haul at the GP? I reckon it's good to get a grease and oil change once in a while.
Well, 5 am. May as well have a little read on that new thread. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
