That's probably when the drinking escalated - trying to cope with different challenges

You see that's where you are kinder than me - I would have presumed the other way round - not that the challenges made him drink - but that the drink caused his life by necessity to be challenged - chicken and egg ya know? But then I probably just amn't a nice person??!!

And yeah that's exactly it. Had to come home eventually - burned all his bridges .....
Immediately found a girlfriend - moved in with her - and she was so sweet and trusting she took AGES to cop on to the extent of the drinking .........
So last chance saloon is now Chez Satz ............. and we are letting stuff happen ..... not intervening at all.

My friend that fell off the wagon is back on it. Gawd was I the whimpering, pity-potted, self-absorbed when I was in the madness?

Other than that had a walk through town on my way home there's Chrimbo stuff going out in the shops.....:egad:.....I was looking for a birthday card for our Jenny.

I did a lot of what young satz did, traveled and worked around Austrailia, asia etc in my 20s - and drank my way through it. Lots of new and challenging situations, but cant say I used drink to cope with them, I just wanted to drink full stop. Good day, boring day, nutty day, day day..

[MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION] -Doc, a fine poem indeedy. And particularly apt as I'll be heading into P1. Visited them yesterday afternoon, read their afternoon story to them with their milk... It's going to be a lot to take on - tho thankfully I am team teaching so there'll be 2 of us there (cos there are more than 25 kids at that stage,so 2 teachers required). But I think it'll be good to be the 'class teacher' again - and not just the teacher that floats in and out of other's classes. Alas, today is last day of the "Easy life" :haha:

Thank Crunchy indeed. Hope this year goes well for you RC. Had an amazing hike yesterday, The Spinc trail. About 3.5 hours. Food for the soul, although I feel it in the legs today! Need to get more hill walks in. We then went for an Indian which was delicious afterwards. Back to my crochet class today so all good. Hope yesterday went ok Satz and no matter what the outcome it has some impact. Hello to everyone else.

Good morning, lovelies.

It is hissing down, cold, bleak and the heating's on............its defo a pyjama day. Going to make a big pan of bacon and lentil soup.

Let us know YS got on, Satz. I'm really hoping he's been ordered an alcohol awareness course.

I used to help out one morning a week in reception class where my two went to school. I used to come home and lie face down on the settee for two hours.

Jenny's baptism of fire continues...........one of the pupils threw a chair at her.

Thanks jacks! No guilt - I'm mediator for 4 sprogs arguments/sads/angers/nameadilema! AND work a lot so reckon I feckin deserve it walking heaps every day as well as swimming so even getting toned up a bit so yeah it'll be a long winter!!

Don't forget the never ending questions.........when did we go to Chester Zoo with the kids (we've never been), what year did I fall of my bike, have you got my school reports from first school, whats for tea/dinner/breakfast, have you got any safety pins, where's the channel changer...........
