Re: October Army Manoeuvres 2018

Morning,
byebyebridgetjones..........go on do a blog. Yep, he's taking the piss. An ultimatum might be a good idea. He's been there long enough and its time he did some adulting...............the only job as an Auntie is to fill niece or nephew with cake and do nice things, buy the best Chrimbo and birthday pressies and then get rid after a maximum of 5 hours.

RunningCourage ...........you couldn't pay me enough to be a teacher. Seeing it through Jenny's eyes she loves the time with the kids but outside the classroom its mountains of prep. The silly mare has now become a union rep.

I remember fondly the aroma of smoke and beer around my teachers and that was just the women.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: October Army Manoeuvres 2018

Some of summer break prep is usually spent a) studying
at least half of my Xmas and Easter break is spent planning lessons and resources
But the other half is still twice what others get ...

I was referring to Irish teachers D'Arsey - they get 3 months off in the Summer : as in they don't get up & go to work each morning but get paid.
There is no denying it's a tough job but whatever way you slice & dice it's a hell of a lot more paid vacation time than most.

Take the nurses / care assistants in my place. Work 12 hour shifts also doing a very important job : 20 days paid holiday a year : Out sick don't get paid: Mandatory training and meetings are off shift and not paid.

Just sayin .......... my eyes have been opened to the unfairness in this country.

Anyhoo - Morning all :checkin:

satz123, morning, darling.
Do they really get 3 months off......:egad: Its 6 weeks over here...in England...that's why there's always a hullabaloo about parents taking their kids out of school to take advantage of the cheap(er) holidays abroad.

That's the state schools.........the posh ones get longer.......hence the rise of prosecco sales for all yummy mummy who's kids go there.

Btw does anyone want a Mr Kipling's toffee and apple slice.........I've just found two at the bottom of my handbag..........still in the packet and just a teeny bit squashed?

Evening all,
A gentle stroll up to the shops, just for a pootle about. Bought myself a couple of nail varnishes and some yellow roses. Weird being in stonking big shops after being in Scotland where you couldn't swing a cat in their's.
Tomorrow, is the first day it'll be just me and Bess in ages and I'm soooooooooo looking forward to it.

Night all. Another busy day here. Feet up now watching crap tv. It’s great to get away from everything, always feel like that when I go to the west of Ireland. Scotland seems very similar. Work in the morning so better have early night. Just me and the fur babies here tonight and like you JC really enjoy it.

Evening,
A day of driving the kids around, matches, the shops etc.. Ive nothing done!!

Friend was over showing pics of the night before, fancy dress, everyone having a blast, locked with no inhibitions. Have to admit, I did feel a pang of jealously. Then she went on about the horror of today and that feeling breezed away :happy2:
Unfortunately I (we) cant look at these nights out in isolation, it doesnt work like that. I would have likely been drinking quickly to cure the hangover from the day before. I would have already have stocked up on wine for the next day when I wouldnt be sober to drive until later in the afternoon.... and on and on the cycle goes. No thank you very much.

IamMary..........wise woman thinking it through. I am ashamed to say I have never been to Wales.

rustop59......sounds like a blissful evening

byebyebridgetjones..........let's know how you're going.

Here's another  for sobriety..............just been doing my nails and remember when I used to need at least a couple of glasses of wine to stop the shakes before I could even start.

Nighty night, darlings.

Good yeah - and I have never since had the confidence to do my own nails. Few glasses of wine and I was super woman (yuk)

OMFG!!!! You are a genius!!!! WHY WHY WHY did I not think of that?

I'm glad Mary. If you don't insist on getting a win for yourself at this stage, you are setting yourself up for (pretty much being me) in a few years.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

@byebyebridgetjones......always room at JC Mansions for a traveler, love. In Northumberland we're a quick hop, skip and jump from Scotland. My little brother or should I say usurper (I was 5 when he was born and quite content being a little princess)...... lives in Scotland now.

No pyjama day......ended up stripping the front bedroom to the bare boards for its do-over...........hence the offer off accommodation.

Now bed. Nighty night, lovelies.
You have no idea how much I would love to jump on a long haul flight right now....

Sounds absolutely idyllic but WTF is a pootle? Is it like a shufti? Is it a slow relaxed shufti?

pootle definition: to move somewhere slowly and with no real purpose.......

I've got HappyPlace on FB....she's going great. Got her own ceramics business.
