Re: October Army Manoeuvres 2018

Evening Army!!

Thanks to abcowboy and paulywogg for your messages!

I've had a good day. Supposed to celebrate with my special friend tonight but his car is in for repairs so we have to postpone. No problem. We can celebrate any time we want. He called me at 8 a.m. to be the first to wish me a happy 3-year anniversary. Then all the wishes from the MWO peeps. Thanks to everyone!! You are all very special and caring people and my world is a better place because you're in it!!!!
For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Evening yourself and another well done. Never doubted you'd get there and you know......... I'm proud of you.

I've ordered a posh new Kindle with the hope I can log in while I'm away on holiday...........I say hope as when we were in this place in Scotland last year the internet was patchy to say the least............its still important to me to post everyday even after all these years.

Mr JC just in so better feed the bread winner

Morning,
Off into town to pick up a couple of prescriptions and meet my pal. I've also got some Boots No7 vouchers crying out to be used........Out for a curry tonight with Mr. JC and the next door neighbour.........last time we went to this particular curry house, Mr JC had a curry that was so hot his bald head was got sweaty. and his face was like a boiled beetroot..........he'll not be doing that again in a hurry.

Just back in and got my tenner back...........he was full of apologies for asking but had just hit a hard spot.

We had coffee in a bookshop and while I was waiting was browsing through the audiobooks.........thought it might make a half decent present for my in-laws. Ma-in-law is 93 and Pa-in-law is 89..............Can't decide whether to get them the complete set of 50 Shades of Grey books or Rumpole of the Bailey.

Pavati............:hiya:....don't be a stranger.

Hello Pav, good to see you in here!

OK, just found something this afternoon which sounded a big "PING" of OMG in me. It's kinda odd after 15+ years seeing something that seems to, if not explain, then give recognition to a disorder that i certainly showed very real symptoms of. Drunkorexia! Honest, it's a real thing - but I only found out about it this arvo while researching/reading stuff on ED. Have to say i do as the article below describes of consciously eating less to get drunk quicker, or to save money, but it became the worst of two evils: drinking instead of eating meant i believed there was less likelihood of my binging (on food). And i preferred to wake up groggy from booze rather than guilt-ridden from a binge.

Have a look, if it is of interest or in case you know peeps - perhaps younger peeps - who may be/have been abusing AL this way.

Well Im guilty of Drunkorexia, insofar as the booze would hit the spot quicker if I ate less. Plus, Id pref to take my calories from wine than food. That was then.
Does that make me a drunkorexic! It was definitely more about the booze for me..

We are supposed to be blown off the island tomorrownthego:

Well hello strangers!
I am just back from my holidays in the country. They advertised free wifi and I thought Ok, I'll take that one. Trouble is there is no reception in the country?? Looks good on paper, eh?
So I am way behind on all emails and other media, but you know what? It was nice to have a break from the keyboard.
I spent a lovely time perusing through plant nurseries and spending time with family. So nice.

I see that big congratulations are in order Stirly? Well done mate. Amazing effort.

If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Just in. Fabulous wee Indian restaurant.........anyway........not sure I would call mine drunkorexia.......but I did deliberately drink on an empty stomach to get the 'hit' sooner and after I'd had a couple I'd be off into the madness at top speed and bugger the food..........hand me the bottle and better open another. Actually reading that last sentence drunkorexia is probably the right word.

Nighty night, lovelies. See you in the morning.

We all learn our little 'tricks' with drinking don't we? Don't eat first. Fill up when everyone is out of the room and make it a big one. Hide the empties in a neighbour's bin. Drink out of a coffee cup. Have sports drink with 2 beroccas dissolved in it when you wake up dying again. Buy a half bottle of vodka so that you have no choice but to stop.
So clever. So, so clever.
