Re: October Army Manoeuvres 2018
I need fattening up, I'm underweight for my height. Trouble is now I feel so well I'm more active so I'm using the food for what its meant to do........energy. I'm mentally feeling great but feel like there's a veiled threat ( for want of a better word) that they'll whip me back into hospital and tbh had an anxious afternoon waiting for a call from my doctor.
I eat when I'm hungry..........I've never been a breakfast person. Used to drive my mother insane that I'd go to school with nothing on my stomach (her words)........and I must have been one of a rare breed that enjoyed school dinners.
We've gone back to using real butter..........heaven knows what they put in spreads .........shudder.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: October Army Manoeuvres 2018
I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat a lot of sugar/starch or a lot of fat with starches, both of which cause problems independent of body mass. If I needed to gain weight (which I definitely don't), I would eat as much high quality whole food with as much good fat (grass-fed butter :smile as possible, hopefully beyond caloric needs which at some point should result in weight gain. Some people who eat a low carb high fat diet with the goal of losing weight get frustrated because they are forcing themselves to eat so much fat. Eating to appetite is a much more reasonable approach in my opinion.

Re: October Army Manoeuvres 2018
JackieClaire, I did have the same thought as NS, maybe you are just naturally thin/light?
I do wonder if the perception of slim has changed in recent years. Im normal weight, but would be considered slim, if not skinny by some standards now. Im not, Im normal. Im sure the doctors are absolutely correct, but do you feel you are underweight? Are they happy with everything else?
In bed - unheard of for me. Think Im getting a dose. blasting Vit C into me. Any suggestions for cold prevention would be appreciated. I can handle the cold, but not the dip in energy levels until after Sunday. mildly panicking.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

We had booked to go to Dingle but I decided YS is doing so well - I don't want to abandon him in these critical few weeks.
Also I find it stressful with just MrS alone - he's great for the walking etc but wants to be in pub all night swilling pints - having the 'Craic' - I want an active day , nice dinner and I'm happy.
Doing the whole independent thing and leaving him there sometimes causes friction ..... I don't need it ... no thanks ....Last edited by IamMary; October 23, 2018, 04:26 PM.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

NoSugar..........I was naturally slender............always a size 10 (that's a US size 6 I think). Ballooned to a massive 16 (US12.........I found a conversion chart) when I gave up drinking ..........too much chocolate
I'll take your advice, love.

@byebyebridgetjones - now that I've my own place and I've an extra room - you can come visit me. I'm about 1/2 hour from the centre of Athens in a lovely quiet neighbourhood. The landlord has a good-sized garden out back that he does little with. It would keep you occupied on days you felt like having a good dig in the earth instead of exploring Greece. Just saying....
Oh man! That sounds like an offer...

Evening,
Not as blowy as yesterday but its still dreadful.
Got my Dog's Trust Chrimbo gift book this morning...........just about read the spots off it. We got Bess from the Dog's Trust and we sponsor one in the shelter.
Doing a little bit of cross stitch at the moment...........stitching white on white is a nightmare.
The little bedroom is next to have a do-over.......getting started Saturday. I want proper bookshelves/unit putting in so on the hunt for a carpenter/joiner..........they're like hen's teeth round here.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Ha ha, sure have Bridget :happy2: avoiding coverage of presidential election and had a much more enjoyable evening. Crochet and Coronation Street. Now I sound about 90 :egad: same problem everywhere trying to get someone to do the small jobs.
Glad you are ok Mary. Promised cold but that’s better for running. Off on my walk in a few minutes, catch you all later.
