Sorry [MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION], I cant even image what your going through now - we all took control over our own AL problems and ended up here, but you cant control someone else. Part of me wants to say, throw him out, then I read [MENTION=7008]JackieClaire[/MENTION]'s brilliant post and think, no, keep doing what your doing, being positive and strong, maybe this time will be the last day one.. :hug:

Morning, off to get my 'free' dress/pinafore altered. Then the carpet shop and because I'm in such a hideous mood, Mr JC has promised me a trip to Hobbycraft.
Watched Stand up to Cancer last night and fell apart at the story of a little boy of six who died of cancer and then his mother was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.....watching her husband talk broke me into tiny pieces.

[MENTION=18049]RunningCourage[/MENTION]..........for goodness sake post. I worked in a bank and the and many thought that bank employees worked 9:30am til 3:30pm.........got to the stage we just used to nod and say yep and we get to take the money home.

[MENTION=18049]RunningCourage[/MENTION] - I could do with your experienced words now :nightmare: I did slag teachers too, Im very sorry, Im a teachers daughter + sister of a teacher, so thats what we do in my house! but Im under no illusion about the work they put in and the massive importance of the job they do (but they do gloat about the massive holidays they have over here, so we feel the need to slag them back..)

Its lots of little things building up with the kids...simple things like the world and his family have seen the engagement ring except us. We only live a 10 minute drive away. FFS. There's times I feel like I'll be making amends to my kids 'forever for what they perceive to be a dreadful childhood and belive me it wasn't.......FFS just think they didn't have a holiday abroad 'til they were 12. I brought up a pair of spoiled brats.

I'll be fine in a few days.

Ah listen, we are all a bit entitled and self absorbed sometimes... but mammy is mammy and if you have to crack the whip to remind them to show a bit of respect, thats ok. As for their perceived memories, I do think we all end up with different versions.. My younger siblings definitely remember life differently, nothing OTT, just different.

You're totally spot on.........I remember my brother telling me when we sold my mum's house after she died to say what a happy home it was.......I had to take a double take to make sure a) he actually was my brother and b) we lived in the same house.

Will you go to bed aren't you supposed to be eating mega amounts of bananas and porridge the night before a race, because I'm not running alongside spooning it in your mouth.

Greetings from Co Wicklow. We had flurry of snow today. :egad:
Fab hike then fab meal then they ruined a lovely country pub attached to the hotel - by putting a feckin band in the corner and all conversation has to stop or just roar. Left them at it and came to bed🌞

It's not the teachers malarky. Just fucking stressed oota my box and or... just feeling like pants. not that i know how pants feel. cos pants have never spoke to me before. long nights with parents evening and school halloween events and rehearsals and other people's opinions and simply coming home to nothing but pretzels and pop and all i want is a real hug.

I bought a teeny flat after my divorce it was back end of November............I used to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday making up some easy to re-heat meals as the bank ............which was smack bang in the middle of the Newcastle ........got crazy busy with Christmas and I was getting home 'til yon time. So when I pootled in I had a hot meal. Mind you Friday night was always a fish and chip supper..........I think its actually in the Domesday book that anyone north of the Tyne must have a fish supper on a Friday.
Get cooking.....takes your mind of many things.

I'm okay. Its been an emotional year. Perhaps I should have told the kids just how ill I was back in July. I sort of glossed over it but if I hadn't had those blood tests, hadn't got treated I'd have been typing this from the great beyond. My guardian angel was working over time time that week........Tbh still haven't told me as I don't want them visiting out of a sense of duty.

Should say they found the c-diff when they were fiddling about with my kidneys.

We found this fab place ..... old fashioned family-run hotel : attached to a pub : surrounded by the Wicklow Mountains.... everything from Japanese tourists with cameras to a Hells Angels - type rally. Great craic.
Walked the shagging legs of ourselves.
Wonderful food ... roaring fires all day even at 8 in the morning for breakfast.
This could be an international meet-up venue -

Back! shattered but delighted with myself! Lost most of the group, but myself and my buddy kept chugging away.. amazing experience, quite emotional. I can see the attraction now [MENTION=22839]brit[/MENTION] and [MENTION=18049]RunningCourage[/MENTION].. Might stick to she shorter distances for while, its takes its toll, especially when the kids are still young.
One thing for sure, not a snowballs chance in hell would I have got over that line today if I was still pouring the wine in every night.. makes every little craving, every mumbled excuse for not drinking and every time I doubt myself that ( 'was I really that bad'), worth it. As does every time I wake up without a hangover :happy2: (no need to go to these extremes!).
