Re: One Step at a Time - November 2018

Hi all,
Happy Thanksgiving. Dd1 came over yest and spent the night. Her bf has gone to his parents so..her friend is coming over this aft and dd2 will be here as well. I have some easy things to cook so I won't get overwhelmed and wound up. I keep seeing myself drinking and cooking. This will be our first Tday with a dining table which is nice. Also, the past couple of years I have not spent tday with the kids, as the play always falls the week before, which I would attend, and then I wouldn't have the money to come back up here the following week......Rusty, good for you getting the self care in. Lucky you have some wonderful friends in your life.....Nora, glad you have some time off, and are getting things done. In answer to your question, the next play is already going. Dd1 brought the script over, and that is what she wants to do with her life, work on the lights and stuff. Idk why she stopped acting, she is good......Lizann, my dd1 still communicates with all her exes. 2 of them were up here for the play. And they come and visit with her and her current bf. All very weird. I hope my girls end up doing as well as your kids are......Pauly, hoping today is better for you. Idk what a makeup box is, but hope you enjoy it. Would like to see the blanket when finished......Glassie, glad you are on the mend......well, I am going to dump some canned stuff into bowls and make it look like I did something hahaha.......

Happy Thanksgiving. You all make me laugh about just throwing the canned stuff in the pans. Sounds just like me.
Actually, I am currently cooking a frozen lasagna for our dinner. (And I bought Brown n Serve rolls too)

Glassie - I loved that story about your son. I agree with what Liz said - you have such a kind, wise way about you. You really are special.

Bird - that's really neat that your daughter wants to continue in that career. Has she completely stopped acting? Sounds like a wonderful Thanksgiving in your new home with your girls.

Pauly - I hope you're at the tail end of

neighbors dropped by. So - as I was saying....

Pauly - I hope that you're at the tail end of your cold. No Bueno. I didn't know that Cold Eeze was like that. Someone recommended that to me once when I had a cold. Sounds Yucky.

I hope that everyone has had a day filled with love.

Morning friends, hope everyone had a great day yesterday? Ours went pretty smooth,no mishaps seen a pic of Mamabear's table on fb,how beautiful she had it,we ate off paper plates with turkeys on them haha! Posted in the nest that this extra time off with hubs is kind of bugging me just cuz I like to do my own thing when I'm off and not be bothered, maybe my cold is just making me a crab! Poor Kell had to spend most of her evening cleaning up her house cuz the landlord is supposed to come by and take pics this afternoon, means I'll have her dogs most of the day today too but that's ok wishing everyone a happy AF Friday!

Re: One Step at a Time - November 2018

Good morning loves. How was everyone's thanksgiving? You guys had me laughing with the cans! My TS is away this year and she always makes the cranberry sauce, so I opened a few cans myself! OMG soo much food! And the desserts! I actually froze some of them. It was a smaller crowd than usual and there were some tears at the beginning of the day, just me and mom, sigh. It just was different. My niece and nephew brought over their dog and Logan loved her. Melody, wasn't as thrilled with Logan but she tolerated him nicely. Mel's is an American Eskimo who is all hair, so fluffy and he loved it!
Nora, did you see Savannah yesterday?
Pauly, do you have the boys everyday?
BIrd, your house looks lovely on the pic you posted.
Rusty, what did you do yesterday? How is your mom doing. My moms back is better and it was so good to see her helping out again yesterday. She gave me the recipe for her stuffing, everyone's favorite, kind of a I'm not doing this anymore signal? on a lighter note my BS and I sneaked off into another room so she could show me a picture of the ring my nephew bought for his soon to be finance . You guys know how much I love all this stuff and it was beautiful. Meanwhile I had left the potatoes and cauliflower on the stove, yup by the time I got back they had burnt! Managed to trim of the burnt parts, but those pots were a b**** to clean! So another wedding on the horizon.
My niece on hubby's side of the family is getting married in October. She sent me such a lovely text yesterday about daddy and Lucy. I seriously have a great family.
Need to get hubby motivated to get the Christmas decorations out of the attic today. It is my plan to keep it rather minimal this year, just not feeling it and also not sure how Logan will react to everything. As it is we need to put a things away when he's here.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Cross post Pauly. How many dogs does Kelly have? And I totally get what you mean doing your own thing on days off. My hubby is around most of the time now and while I want him here, I don't want him here here! (Got that from "everybody loves Raymond")

Hello all.

We did have a nice day yesterday. C brought Savannah over for about 3 hours. Since Mommy wasn't there, I got to give her a bottle which was so amazing. My heart just melted. Since J is breastfeeding, I don't get the opportunity to do this.
She is at the age where she is changing so much so quickly. She has found her voice and has started making noises including an ear splitting squeal. :rotlf: We love that little girl.

Hospice has started again. And it is the same wonderful group of women that helped us last time. Actually, the CNA is coming out today to bathe Mom. It helps knowing that we have them to call on 24 hours a day.

Pauly - Yikes is right - poor Dottie. Glad that they are patient with Romeo. I can just see Savannah doing something like that. I'm glad you had a good day yesterday.
How are you feeling today? Is your cold any better?

Liz - I'm glad you had a good day yesterday too! So happy that your Mom was feeling better. I know holidays are bittersweet at times. But more engagement and weddings in the family to look forward to. How did Logan do yesterday? Big day going to both grandparents in the same day.

Boy - do I understand what you are talking about having your hubby's underfoot. Mine has taken down all the fall decorations and is pulling out Christmas stuff. Which is great. But, I am just wanting to vegetate for a bit. Enjoy a rare day off. LOL He's not asking me to do anything but he's in my space. :rotlf:

Well, I guess I'll get up and do something since there's so much nervous energy in the air. :harhar:

Hi all,
Good day here yest but all those cans wore me out! haha, we will eat out xmas. The kids were so happy to have all that food though, they eat so many noodles and fast stuff. I loaded them up with leftovers. Dd2 has gone to our old town to a football game. I booked her a motel so she wouldn't have to drive back in the middle of the night and rain. Taking dd1 to pick her bf up from his parents tomorrow, 2 hour drive. Should be fun. Got my tree up, I hope the cats don't climb it. Still trying to make the pine needle basket, took 2 apart today.......Lizann, I thought you were talking about me for a minute there, Melody the Eskimo I am Alaskan native hahaaa. Sounds like your day was full. Exciting about the ring!....Nora, glad you got the same hospice gals. Good you got to feed Savannah. I love those baby noises....Pauly, we used paper plates too. The dogs all sound very cute....well, back to doing nothing. Lazy day....

bird, that really is funny thinking I was talking about you! Logan would pull Lucy's hair but he did not pull Mel's hair. She just so fluffy and he loves to cuddle! Nora, so glad you have help now with your mom and you like this group. I don't know much about hospice but I hope it gives you and hubs some relief. Can you leave for awhile when they are there? How is your mom doing? How do your pets like Savannah? So nice you got to feed her yesterday. Pauly, better watch that little Romeo, how cute is that?
Tree is up but not yet decorated. Tomorrow is another day. We took the girls small American Girl Doll tree down this year. We bought it for them years ago and they used to set it up in their room, I was going to put it on a table in our family room, but decided I would ask mom if she wanted it. She agreed! I also bought her a small poinsettia. We talked for a long time today and she was laughing at a story I shared with her. Felt so good to hear her laughing! I'm working tomorrow morning then I hope to go to a Christmas craft fair at a castle not to far from here.

Good Morning, Friends!

It sounds like all of us had a nice Thanksgiving....so glad! I really had a nice Turkey Day. My handyman came over on Thanksgiving Day (he is so sweet...but I do pay him REALLY well...Hahah) ...and put up both of my Christmas trees and my decks' railing lights. I spent the day with my mom and my sister and her family. So fun! My great nephew just turned two and I love that he knows how to pronounce my name and my mom's, too! Mom is doing really well. She has opted not to have the glass eye...so that is one less surgery to worry about...we are all relieved. My trees are not decorated yet but I went shopping yesterday for some new decorations and some outside garlands. It was so much fun. I blew off work completely and did not even respond to two business emails. Um, duhhhh… you know I never work on Black Friday so I am not responding to your emails. That was SO hard for me to do but I practiced self-care yesterday by not letting work get in the way of my holiday and it felt SO good!

Lizann...delighted that your mom loved the American Girl tree and that she was able to share a laugh with you. Ooohhhh….I can imagine how much Logan loved that American Eskimo fur! LOL. Thanks for asking about my mom....she is doing really well and there were no "mishaps" when she was at my sister's house. She didn't fall like she did on Labor Day weekend, and we were all on alert to watch her closely.

bird-what did you end up eating for your T-Day dinner? I knew you opened cans...LOL...you are so funny! Good luck with the pine needle basket, you creative person!

NoraC..I hope hospice gives you the needed breaks so you and hubby get a much-deserved respite. I can just picture you feeding Savannah...delighted for you.

Glassy-how are you feeling?

Pauly-are you working today.

Today, I am going to work out and then finish putting up the outdoor decorations. I am planning on putting up some of the indoor decs, too. It looks like it's going to be a rainy day so decorating inside will put me in the Christmas spirit. Well, I am already in the Xmas spirit so I guess I will be even merrier. :-)

Big hellos to anyone I missed...Happy AF Saturday!
