Re: One Step at a Time - November 2018
Hi all
Happy Nobeervember....I need to get this whole month in as I drank twice in Sept. and twice in Oct. That is not as bad as I have been but it is not where I want to be...no trick or treaters here, I have a private drive that is shared with my neighbor. Lizann, going through all that paperwork is a chore. My dad died in 70 and my mom in 85 and I still have stuff I need to go through haha, been dragging it around for years in a suitcase. In answer to your question of how I ended up welding, well its kinda long but here goes...in h.s. I was playing in a band making ok money and this is what I wanted to do forever. My boyfriend was from GA and when I graduated he talked me into moving to GA, said he knew a lot of musicians I could play with...so I moved, but there weren't any musicians much and he lived in a very small town with no venues and I ended up working in a meat place which I hated. I broke up with him and my mom came down and tried to get me to come home and go to college, but I couldn't stand the thought of living with her again or going back to school for 4 years, so she dragged my ass up to the tech school and made me pick out something, and I picked welding, I didn't even know what it was and that is the story. I've never liked it much, but it has got me through and I wouldn't have met my kids dad without it so........Pauly, I loved your Halloween pics!.......Rusty, good you take some time to exercise when you are on the road.. Glad you are out of your funk.....Nora, sounds like you get a lot of trick or treaters......well, idk what kind of plants I want to plant yet. I am just learning about them and making a list for now. .....so off to a state park up the road a bit, they have a spring where you can collect water to take home and it is very good......later...

bird, glad you've had some benefit from welding even though you didn't like it much. We used to go to a spring for water too, when I was growing up. It was a bit of a drive from our house so it was always a fun family outing!
Rusty, lol, I posted on the October thread too! How is it November already? Time to put the pumpkins away, I suppose. I received my Christmas comforter in the mail today. I tried it on the bed and I absolutely love it! Maybe a little too early to leave it.
Pauly, you always do enjoy Halloween! I loved your pictures. Chaos and fun, the makings of a fabulous day. I don't know about you, but I've got lots of candy here and ate way more than I should've.
Nora, thanks for starting us off this month. I had this long post on October, just deleted it. Hope everything's ok by you. How is mom doing? My mom is feeling better. The steroids are kicking in, I think. She was just so grateful to have relief from pain. Just taking it one day at a time.
Beautiful day here. Leaves are changing color and it's just pretty. Spent a lot of time outside, Logan loves it too.

OH Liz - you shouldn't have deleted your post. I am glad that your Mom is getting some relief. That is good news.
Rusty - enjoy your breakfast with your friend tomorrow. Catch up with each other - fun.
Bird - I really enjoyed your story. Thanks for sharing it. Really cool how things turn out.
Pauly - sounds like you had a great Halloween? We had probably 30-40 kids come by. Certainly not as many as we have had in the past. But, it was fun. There was one dinosaur - it was like a blow up thing all around him. If he had fallen down, he wouldn't have got back up. I was worried about him on the porch but he made it. LOL And I watched him waddle away."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Glassie - are you working or are you at home working? Are you still improving? You don't know the meaning of 'take it easy' so I'll bet you are on the go again.
actiongirl46 - how are things going? You busy with your kids?"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - November 2018
So dd1 sends me a picture of her car and says she parallel parked except there were no cars behind her just one in front and I laughed so hard.....Pauly, I wish they would just keep the time one way or the other. It makes no sense to me.

Re: One Step at a Time - November 2018
Good morning! Nora, Savannah was so cute in her little costume, JUst precious! We had one person come to our house and that's pretty typical, I don't buy much candy. I did go out yesterday and stock up on the half off candy bird, your weekend does sound busy. I'm glad your enjoying it. That jewelry making class sounds great. I would be interested in doing something like that. How did you find it?
Pauly, so nice you got to celebrate your daughters birthday together. It's so nice when family is together. Pictures looked like a good time.
Last night I went out with some friends to see A Star is Born. We had dinner first. Haven't done that in ages, but it was a nice evening. Don't know if any of you have seen it but it doesn't involve problem drinking. It was a bit awkward, I was sitting next to TS, but whatever. Of course dreamt about drinking last night. Tonight sissys and I are going out to celebrate our mutual birthdays. Need to start packing for our trip next week, hard to do now that Logan is into everything. I shall manage somehow.
Rusty and AG how are you doing? What're your plans for the weekend?

Re: One Step at a Time - November 2018
Hi everyone
Bird - I laughed at your daughter and her parallel parking. For 41 years, I have pulled up to the spot - got out & let my hubby park it. :rotlf: Your daughters method is much easier.
Your classes sound great. I hope you're enjoying them.
Pauly - glad you had a good time at dinner last night. I told hubby that one of the things that I want to do when we are on vacation is go out to a Mexican restaurant and have dinner. Ha, ha. Drooling over the chips and salsa.
Liz - was it a good movie? I've heard nothing but rave reviews about it. I am sorry it was somewhat awkward because of the drinking scenes. Did anyone drink at dinner? Was that uncomfortable?
I hate drinking dreams but it's so nice to wake up & know that it was only a dream. Does your family still continue to bring it up often? Have you had the talk with them about how that pressure from them makes you more apt to drink?
When do you leave for vacation? I hope you have a fantastic time.
Rusty - did you have a great time with your friend?
Nothing really going on here. To be honest, I have thought about taking a break from here. I am not contributing much lately. I am just too wrapped up in my own little world, I guess. But, I gave myself a little talk and decided that I had better stick close. So, I guess you're stuck with me."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett
