Re: November Army Manoeuvres 2018

Morning,

byebyebridgetjones..........its pure determination on your part, love.

The best gift so far.........an Advent Tea Calendar for Ma & Pa in Law. Each day has a different flavour tea-bag. They're getting it next week for tea when they come over to look at our home improvements.
A Men in Kilts Calender for my Aunt.
And for my little brother a chart of the origin of his surname.

I once bought a bedding set with matching curtains. Then wrapped them and put them under the tree and feigned ignorance about where they come from.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good morning everyone. Some very good advice there RC, turn a negative into a positive, will help the school in the long term. Sorry about work Bridget and well done on staying sober through it. Here’s an unusual gift for you. Hubby is a germaphobe and in fairness does a lot of flying. Heard about this on TV, personal ionizer that you wear when traveling, clears the air around you keeping germs away :egad:. Now could be a loads of codwallop but the guy I heard being interviewed swore by it. Got it on Amazon and arrived today, happy days. I am crocheting a few things, throw, baby stuff etc. Need to go pick up my new glasses, lost the last pair in the house!, That was 3 months ago so doubt if I will ever find them.

Evening,
Just awaiting a fig, thyme and goats cheese tart to come out of the oven.........we've gone all Sainsbury's. What a faff on........my usage of filo pastry isn't the best it'll be midnight when we get fed.

rustop59............I've going to give the on-line glasses place to get a spare pair of specs a go.

Evening,
I heard about those ionizers on planes Rustop, Id say he'll love it! We have a lot of Asians working with us at the moment and a few of them wear masks around the office! we also had to install new toilets for them, special ones that smell, with buttons and settings.. the jokes are endless.

No cheery stories Bridge, just had a scrap with MrM.. I was just thinking how sober scraps and drunk scraps are worlds apart...This one has blown over, but when we were both drinking (he drinks normally, now that hes not keeping me company), there were some nasty ones. The arguments themselves haven't changed (usual stuff), but they are less self righteous, less emotional.
Hes still annoying me though.

Bought the first Santa book today, Irish women who changed the world. It might be technically 2nd hand by tomorrow.

Mr & Mrs JC!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Good morning everyone and happy anniversary Mr and Mrs JC. 33 years amazing 😉, we were married the year ahead of you and being honest it does not feel that long ago. Time seems to speed up as you get older. Satz is right, can the MIA’s please check in, it’s approaching silly season and there is always a friendly chat going on here. Busy day ahead so better get a move on.

abcowboy........thank you. That's lovely.

rustop59.........and thank you to you. Where does the time go? Its flown by. We've had some bad times ie. my drinking and the near bankruptcy but we got through with a lot of tears and lots of laughter. Here's to the next 33.:happy2:

We made a sort of a pact years ago that anniversaries weren't going to be a flurry of cards and pressies. Just low key and not forced.

IamMary........the non-drinking does mean an argument might blow up but its over and done with quick smart. Mr JC used to drink along side me as well. He rarely drinks at home now.

After all, the faffing on with the flan it turned out looking very professional but to be honest was very ordinary and not cheap.

Back into town again. Just meeting my pal for coffee and gathering ideas for Christmas pressies. Mr JC's off next Wednesday and he's going to do as much as he can as long as he's got a list he's a demon shopper.

The town was horrendous........Black Friday stickers all over.........bet its quieter over the pond. Ended up texting my pal to not bother coming in. He's very claustrophobic to start with this would have half killed him. I just went in did what I had to and came home.

satz123........meant to say that a 2-year ban's not bad (according to my in-house lawyer). Wondering does he have to attend an alcohol awareness course as well.

And a piddling pupdate is needed.

Good luck with that. I've got 7 pairs and some days I lose the lot. I'm not even kidding, mate.
I think I might take up the online suggestion. Arsey does it too I see. Can't stand people any more so I think online shopping better be the way forward. Let me know how the ionizer thingo goes.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

The perfect way to spend an anniversary.........he's buggered off to the pub with his pal. Just me, my dog and an hour plus on the phone with my cousin who can make and did cry laughing.

I'm down to three pairs of glasses, my old ones, new ones and some readers I got from Poundland. Funnily enough, depends on how tired I am which ones I use.

Slo..........keep the thought that joy is never found at the bottom of glass of wine (or any alocoholic drink). Nor the the umpteen bottles of wine that followed.

Morning from tomorrow!
Thought I better check in before Satzy takes her thong off to me.
It’s after 9.30 and I’m still in bed and I don’t care.

The conference went off well but was under-attended as usual. People are extremely socially rude in this country. They will RSVP and not turn up, or turn up having not RSVPd and it’s catered….Very frustrating as organising training and events is quite a big part of my job.

Anyway, of course there was a thank you gift and we all know what it was, don’t we? Normally I’d come home and bust it open and get drinking along with the bottle of Vodka I’d doubtless bought on the way home, but I didn’t even think of it. Yep, entitled to that reward, right? Today my reward is waking up fresh with a whole weekend to myself ahead.
Stashed it along with my bottles of zero alcohol wines that I keep on hand and also don’t touch (because alcohol tastes like crap, really, doesn’t it?)

Very impressive is Mr JC. Just as well you have a brave one to go to the peoply places on your behalf JC. Happy anniversary to both of you. Can't imagine 33 years with one person. It must feel nice though.

I’m just reflecting back and thinking I’ve been very lucky so far this time. No major cravings despite a very stressful month. Never say never, though. Rest of the year will be spent tying up some loose ends and applying for new positions for the new year.

What is this black Friday thing??? We've got it here too and I don't understand it.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
