Hi everyone, long time no see :-)

Just navigating the site again.

Good morning Army!!

Thought I'd drop by for a quick visit to the barracks and who do I see. HAPS!!! It is so good to see you!!! Bridge told us you're doing well and I was so glad to hear it! Great news!! It's so good when former posters stop by and let us know they are well. We would love to hear your news if you want to share.

Having lived by myself these past few months for the first time in over 40 years - I would HATE to have unwanted visitors who didn't have a leave date. Great that your brother and the others have seen the light. Now you can find your peace at home, at least.

Don't have much time to write anymore right now - will try to drop in again later. Just the usual drama in Stirly-World. Younger son is supposed to finally move into his own apartment this week which I know will be very hard on him - not waking up with his boys is going to be the worst part for him - he is a dedicated Dad. But the situation with his wife is toxic and he'll be better off once he gets used to it. A friend of mine was diagnosed with uterine cancer last week and is expecting to be admitted for surgery this week or next. Another friend's brother was hit by a car and killed last week. It just seems that it is never ending sometimes. But I am sober and content and therefore strong enough to be there for others.

Hello Stirly!

Lovely to know you still pop in! All good here. Have had a few ups and downs of late but I feel like things are back on track now. Just felt like catching up on things over at MWO and the Army are always so hospitable, its a pleasure to read everyones posts :-)

Had a wee phone call from Jenny last night she had back to school nerves.........told the daft bint you've got to go in you're the teacher. She had her first (minor) fire in her lab the other week......kids loved it but she was mortified with exploding test-tubes going off..........according to the head teacher its just a rite of passage and not to worry. Spent the rest of the lesson explaining how fire-extinguishers work.

Had another nice little trip to IKEA.........and ended up looking at wardrobes. Tbh I was a bit iffy about their quality but they're blooming sturdy beggars their wardrobes and half the price of some other places I've poked my nose in. Remind me I did say no more 'til April didn't I ???

You did, but I thought it was a bad idea. All those winter months with more tradies around. And then it would be over and you get to enjoy it for next summer...just a thought...

That engagement ring sounds delish. Hope we get a photo.

You know Sweatpea, I know full well that if I currently had a partner (a boy) nobody would just turn up with their bag packed. I think it might be same for you. Might hire a bloke to pretend to be my boyfriend. Solve a few problems with the neighbour eijit and get rid of the stoners too.

Mary I was paranoid about the online persona being found out but I've met a with a few of the online girlies and they are nicer than a lot of the numpties in my own life.

Stirly, my brother is in the same place as your boy. He said he didn't want to move out alone because he doesn't go well at all when his daughter goes home to her mother. The Mum seems to have moved straight on in life and left him behind, much like your DIL. I have a feeling my brother was the last to know...

Afternoon all. Great read today, they are right Bridget you should consider writing ✍️. Glad your visitors are getting ready to depart. Same nonsense here JC and even my daughter thinks the free bar is crazy. It becomes a competition. Waste especially with so much suffering out there. Could be put to much better use imho.

I always hated leaving personal written stuff around but now have an app on my iPad that I can lock with a password. Happy days, I have a gratitude journal and am doing some DailyOM courses. Technology is great.

Did 15km hike yesterday, hubby dragged me along but the rain stopped so was ok. Taking it easy today.

App is a bloody brilliant idea. Which one is it?
Agree about the open bar. My God, as if people need encouraging....

I never thought of that. Sounds like a plan. Mr JC has been busy with his tape measure and drawing plans, I think he's already sold on doing it now.......but he'd wait 'til after Chrimbo
We could shift our bed in the back bedroom, the other shite in the little front room and just get on with it.

I'm getting there........I've just printed off some graph paper, done my own measurements and in the process lost my new glasses after I put them down somewhere safe.........grrrrrrrrrrr

Its me that wants to wait.......just like the idea of cheap labour. Mr JC gets carried away with grand plans although that's waning as he's on his 3rd coat of white paint in the little bedroom trying to paint over bright yellow.
