Re: December Army Manoevres

satz123.........I love hats.
Just shoved the last of the baking in the oven and shoving a custard doughnut down my throat. If that New York cheesecake sets it'll be another Christmas miracle.

Luckily going for supper Christmas Eve at my cousin's house.

Mr JC left me with a you-tube playlist while he was at his Ma and Pa's. Bit of Green Day, ACDC, Foo Fighters, The Who,Pearl Jam and ended up with Beethoven's 1812 Overture.........he knows I like my music played loud.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening all. Welcome back Stirly and RC. How are you both? Busy day in the kitchen. Have the ham on simmering as we have it on Xmas eve so will glaze tomorrow when it’s cool. Had lovely meal last night but passed on the continued drinking, himself has man flu so we came home early . Only problem was that I was awake at 6.30 am so knackered now. Chauffeuring tonight so might need 40winks at some stage.

Evening,
Nearly sorted. MrM has spent 2 days putting wardrobes together, tools and wood, because these things cant wait until after Christmas . Anyway, Im glad theyre in now.

Your probably right Bridge, but its more the occasional nights I feel the pressure, or at least the pressure of not being able to avoid these nights.

Our ham goes on tomorrow.. Its a lot of fecking work this Christmas lark!!!:nutso:

Olive Ketteridge was fabulous, @Satz . Just the kind of thing I like.

Mary, I think the kids will be too scared to stay home without you this year for the óccasionals'. Just a feeling I've got.....Besides you will have had enough socialising with the new group of girlies - coffee, movies....

Oddly, I've been gifted a King's ransom of wine and champagne for Christmas this year which I have packaged up to re-gift tomorrow. How very odd. Not the least bit interested. I would have been terrified to have it in the house last time, even after years of sobriety. I'd love to know what the switch is this time but I really don't know.

Right, I'm off to the kitch for some prep. Nothing that Nigella wouldn't approve of. A bit lazy and very enjoyable.

The turkey and the leg of pork to pick up and panic buy some bread. Then a hoover round and dump anything not needed into a big box and shove in the garage and a few other squillion things. And if does go pear-shaped I've got plenty of cheese, bread and chutneys.

The S&H has to work 'til 10pm today and on alarm call out 'til 8pm tomorrow. The joys of working for a supermarket.

byebyebridgetjones......I got a that feeling. A feeling like peace and acceptance. Think I just gave up the fight to be a 'normal' drinker.

And the baked cheesecake set and the cracks in it can be disguised by raspberries.

Good morning JC and all to come. Busy day ahead in the kitchen. Went out early and got my fruit and veg and then had a lovely walk on the promenade. Sound of the waves and seagulls, you can’t beat it. Needed it, didn’t get to bed until 2 am as did 1.30 pick up. Have to say it lifted my spirits.

If I don’t get on later, just wanted to wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and a healthy new year and to say thank you for all your support during the year. Feeling much more comfortable this year, being alcohol free is the norm.

Yes that's exactly it, isn't it?
You just accept that you've got no control over anything (except not plugging the first drink in) and let go.

Time for me to sit down and watch some QI and perhaps a movie while the cake bakes. I think I'll need more than raspberries to cover this cake up but Hey ho.

Have a great Christmas Eve up-enders. See you on the flip side.

That's the sprouts on........I know, I know should have put them back end of July for the right consistency of sogginess and fartability, but you know time just flies.

Super gorgeous supper at my cousin's house. Full to the brim.

I forgot about the fartability of sprouts! Ive been peeling and chopping for hours. think my ham was over cooked. I'll soak in gravy.
Waiting for middle to fall asleep - shes on the cusp of not believing, so we are playing the game. I think the youngest will still believe at 20.

Weird dream last night, I didnt drink, but I was sick of being a non drinker and was getting really annoyed about it.. tis the season where the mind is turning over these thoughts at some level I suppose..

If I dont get on tomorrow due to the 500 family members coming for dinner, have a great day everyone and dont fart too much.

Night!
