Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Good morning everyone. Everything getting back to normal today. I donÂ’t stick to the 6th but thatÂ’s my cut off date, nothing left up after that. Working on Monday so will take it all down this weekend. Had a great sleep last night after my hike. Lovely morning here so got a nice walk in with the doggies. Lucky you getting some gardening in Bridget, being outside in nature lifts the mood. Must put Luther on my list. Watched Peaky Blinders and You over the holidays.

She was a senior sister at the local hospital and he was one of her junior doctor.....just 48 years old....leaves a wife and three little people...........so lads if you're reading check yourselves.

Where will I find You? Netflix???

Mr JC planted some onions and I think he said lettuce yesterday and a few garlic bulbs yesterday.

And a very happy and prosperous 2019 to you both
                    They're all cured..
Here's a couple of theories......the like and thank buttons............. one good and easy way of not having to leave a comment. I'm as guilty as the next person.

People are busy.......we all are (even me). But we used to drink ourselves into oblivion every day...........we had time for that. What's 10 minutes here and there.
Lurking.........is it just picking up PMs? Got time to lurk....you've got time to post.

Just think back to when you decided to make your first post and no-one was here.......remember the thumping heart, crying 'til you couldn't cry anymore, the shaking hands.........I'll never forget it.

Anyway I'll not bang on anymore...............got of the phone from my doctor and he's agreed I can dump the anti-depressants today. I don't have to taper on mirtazapine but it'll take a week or so to get out of my system...........so poor old Mr JC will still have to put up with me ranting about everything from the busdriver to the state of the world..........and then I cry.

I got a pendant from our Jenny containing a Shakespeare quote..........."And tho be but little she is fierce"............I cried........in a good way I had no idea that she thought of me that way. I shall wear it always and be very careful when I'm cleaning the toilets at work.

Afternoon all. Great to see both Pauly and Rusty. Said it before and I’ll say it again my heartfelt gratitude and thanks go to all the JC’s of MWO. People who have sorted themselves out but continue day in and day out to come here and post. Sometimes it’s a bit of banter but there is always a kind word and support offered. No drama, so thanks ladies and gents

JC i leave a green bin behind my gate pier and the post man or couriers drop the packages in it. Mind you we have one courier who just chucks the stuff over the gate and leaves it in the middle of the drive for all to see. Glad you got the tablets sorted and a good cry will do you all the good in the world.

Had a nice cliff walk with my crochet group, followed by lunch. Feet up now, more crochet I think 🤔

I've yammered on about this before but here's my rant -- I think those buttons are DANGEROUS, particularly on a support site for ADDICTS of all people :egad:!

They are designed to get us addicted to the emotional hit we get from being liked or thanked. From being seen and acknowledged. Like you said, they are an easy way out for the reader and can become a dependency for the recipient. Think of the people who constantly have to check their FB and Twitter feeds to see the responses to what they wrote. Early on, I was like that here. I needed approval from all of you. The thing is, to be fully free and emotionally sober, we have to get to the point of not needing external validation to feel ok.

I go in stages of not using the buttons and making myself take the time to reply to posts that resonate with me but of course, it is quicker and easier to let a person know they've been seen and heard with a button. I get lazy.

I also sometimes try to ignore that dang red icon that says people are responding positively to NoSugar. But--- after awhile it just bugs me too much and I have to get rid of it. Plus, I really do like the username alerts and quote function because they help keep us in the conversation, which to me is the point of being here.
I just don't want to be addicted to approval here, as I have been for most of my life. I want to know that I am enough.

If I were in charge of this website, I'd banish the buttons and keep the alerts. I think it would be a much healthier place and would improve the quality and quantity of our discussions.

The package on the porch thing is crazy. I ordered a $$$ Bose radio one time and they left it on my porch with the label pointing outwards!! It sat there (thankfully!) for a couple days because we were out of town.

I'm glad I didn't terminate the thread :haha:! But where is my buddy, satz123???
