Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Morning,

Been up a while but lying on the floor with Bess giving her cuddles. At her grand age of 14plus, we don't don't know how long she'll be with us. She needs a trip to the groomers for a wash she doesn't half pong and now I do. Eau de aging labrador on sale now.

Talking about old schools...........Jenny is left-handed and my Granny used to love coming round to watch her write. Back when she was at school left-handers got either their arm strapped behind their back or even the cane. She was fascinated.

IamMary......you mentioned the B word that's a euro in the swear jar

paulywogg...waves right back to you.

Finally got the toaster. Its one that takes a big slice of bread. I may get a new kitchen this year so I'm already accessorizing it

Good for you JC and good to see you Pauly.:hug: Satz, don’t know how you put up with it. Nothing too exciting happening here. Nice walk, big dinner and crap tv but it is normal every day living and healthy. Alcohol does not play a role.

Now that's just not true. Your signature line alone is one of my main motivators as well...
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Nothing exciting here either.. That's an awful existence Satz.. terrible to watch

Sisters kids here. Its a sea of whispers and muffled giggles upstairs, then its stops suddenly when they here me creep out.

Profound apologies for the B word! JackieClaire :hopelessness:

I bought a new hob to oven shallow casserole dish.......not the posh Crueset........we got one for a wedding present. That's still going strong after 33 years wed but now there's just the two of us these days and its too big.......can I hear a sad violin playing somewhere in the background

It is a fab signature line, Pauly. Note to self will read more signature lines.

IamMary.........forgiven.

Good morning from a dark frosty Emerald (covered in a white frost) isle. Keeping busy with a lot of odds jobs around the place so I am.
'A mans work is never done' hahaha.

I'd love your insights as YS is still in the depths of addiction to alcohol.
His life is almost at rock bottom. No job, no relationship, no prospects. At age 37.
His beloved Liverpool Football Team that he has supported all his life from age 2 were playing the other night.
He watched the first half - then presumably went upstairs for a swig - & conked out.
Sounds trivial but I NEVER thought I'd see the day he's miss a game.
Thanks Benji, thankfully I am not struggling but I can still see that very dark place of which you speak. One of the saddest things of all is, as we know, the only person that can turn on the light to find the way out is us ourselves.

Ah our dogs enrich our lives so much and ask for so little in return. Honestly mine who have come and gone are still remembered so fondly.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Morning,
Does anyone else have conversations with their printer? Just tried to print off a recipe and ran out of paper and the usual rigmarole..........you're out of paper........no I'm not.........yes you are......oops so I am.......put paper in.........you're out of paper..........I've just put it in.....honestly........paper drawer not closed..........yes it fecking is.........oops no its not....slam drawer shut....sorry and then 4 copies of recipe comes out???

Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB).........dogs are family. My children have grown up with dogs. We've had Bess 12 years (rescued at 2 years old) and she still behaves like a puppy at times. Should have seen her raking round her toy box last night. Digging around until she got the mankiest bit of bone ever seen.

Its a beautiful winter morning and plenty of light. I take the VitD supplement and will be having the odd sunbed now and then. I'm not baking myself by any means and read somewhere it helps with VitD.

That dark place is just one drink away from all of us.

Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Good Morning Lovely People,

Waves to all. I just want to make a quick comment on "if you have time to lurk, then you have time to post." I don't entirely agree. In my case, I lurk so I can read back over people's posts so that I may address EVERYONE correctly if I have time to post. I don't want to leave anyone out. If you've ever seen my posts, they are usually quite lengthy and usually I comment on everyone's posts on our thread. I don't want to just pop on here and just say hello and not thank someone for a particularly thoughtful post or offer helpful feedback if someone is struggling, sad, angry, etc. I think sometimes people overthink the "like" and the "thank" buttons. I don't read too much into them.
paulywogg-I am sorry if you felt like you were talking to yourself sometimes on our little thread. It was certainly not done on purpose. I think it was just purely timing and the other HUGE demands placed on people like NoraC, who works full-time and has to take care of her husband and her mother. I don't know how she does it. I hope the other threads really help you. You are a dear person and we miss you.

I am off to take my mother to church and other errands.

I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday! :-)

Evening everyone and hi Rusty, good to see you and agree regarding the like and thank you buttons. Hope you are not still fighting with the printer JC. Lovely to see you back Tabs, hope you are getting lots of good walks in with this beautiful weather with your doggy.

Took the tree down today and will gradually put the stuff away. Place looks so bare. Guess the kids are back at school tomorrow Mary so everything will be back to normal. I take it you did not give in regarding puppy? Need to get food, back in a bit.

Was talking to a visitor to the NH today.
He told me this HORROR story.

He was at the supermarket today and all the Christmas Cakes & puddings were reduced to clear quickly. Happy days.
but ......
He then as he moved along he had to do a double take as there across the aisle were >>>>>>>>>>>>>>

EASTER EGGS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FFS !!

Tree came down here too. the water it stood in stank! We never had that before. Lunches made and everyone moaned going to bed .
There's still an occasional dog conversation, but the push is really for a couple of cats.. Hours of research going on here.

Laughed at you and the printer JackieClaire! I tend to talk to the cooker/food apparently 'pop you in there, 35 mins, whats the time now, you are looking good....'
