Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Morning,
IamMary...........I'm actually going for my induction at Barnados this morning not sure if that's a :egad: or a :happy2:. Got stomach churning nerves.
It was the early 2000s can't remember the exact dates.

starty........I'm sure Bess rolls her eyes at Mr JC when its walkie time.........kind of thinking I'd better talk the big man out for a stroll. He seems to need it...I'm quite happy taking up most of the settee in the warm.

Oddly enough Mr JC's away on the stag weekend for my big anniversary. Exactly the same dates as when I decided to do away with myself. Its all in the tell us your story section.

Must get dressed.........big girls pants on and all that and get up there and do this thing. Gulp.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good luck JC - sure you're grand - no bother to you
I heard yesterday that the nervy feeling we get- and think is anxiety - is a lot of the time EXCITEMENT.....
Excitement at new beginnings - new people to meet etc.

Get going :llama:

I have not hated every minute at all, and have been very proud of what I have achieved, but with it comes much stress and the choice I am making is to reduce that so that I can be mentally healthy and have time to improve my physical health.
Starty I can totally get this - you are proud of your achievements and rightly so. You seem to be well appreciated & you do not want to to lose that.
You've worked hard to get where you are and it's totally understandable that you do not want to just let that go.

But thinking logically, if it means taking pills & alcohol to get you through the day you need to decide if it's still worth it ?

BTW driving under the influence of pills over here is now the same as driving under the influence of alcohol .... a ban & fine.

ps Be careful if they offer you Part-Time. Check the hours and how the workload will be changed. I've seen full-time work being crammed into part-time hours and in that case you may as well stay full-time for a while longer ?

Also be careful with job share - unless both parties are well matched you will end up doing all the work.
With kids comes sudden illness & time off for trips to the doctor etc. Baby takes priority over work I'm afraid. Working in HR I've seen this lots of times.

Here endeth Sermon No. 2

Love the sermon
Yep driving under the influence of these tablets here too is an offence. They even have that warning on the pack. Very scary

I have asked for 3 consecutive full days per week (24 hours per week) . I have given them a solution to me remaining in my current role with support and I also have experience of managing other areas too so said I could make a valuable contribution elsewhere if they felt my role needed me there 5 days. I have been told today that they think I will like what they are going to offer me but wont tell me what it is yet :egad: I have worked with the girl I am likely to share with before. She is great.....when she is in :haha: However, I am also prepared to leave if this does not work out. I think it will as they have always been good to me. I just need the opportunity to get the ball rolling with changes in smallish increments. I would not like to leave straight off. And you are right, it is not worth taking pills and booze to get through the day but I had to find a solution for myself to make the change. I promised myself that I would not put this in motion until I was clean. It turns out I couldnt wait that long and asked for it in November. Went straight into the Managing Directors office and sat down with him to tell him. Totally bypassed HR and any procedure that is in place. My immediate boss was not too impressed but she has forgiven me now I think. When I want something I will do what I need to get it.

How did your meeting go today Jax?

starty........ I was just googling to see if it was illegal.

Yep, talk to the head, not the tail.
satz123......It was grand. Remind me to wear a bigger jumper as its a bit chilly..........I like it so much I'm going back on Tuesday.........read half of the manual and bless the manager's heart she said I could finish it off next week and I've got to watch a safety video zzzzzzzzzzzzz then I got to sort and tag some stuff..........not sure when I'll get to the tills or the big steamy thing that cleans the stuff.

Got a man that can coming to give us a quote for a new kitchen on Monday. Its an employee of one of the S&H's best mates. Told him we just want none of the endless spiel and us sitting until midnight promising our first grandchild and whats left in the pension until he fecks off ...........just a straightforward best price quote.

Evening

Glad you had a good intro day at Barnardo's JackieClaire.

Liking the sermons ladies! And good to see you here Mr G, as ever.

So... signed up to marathon.... flights booked. Probably the most underprepared marathon i ever did. My brother reckons it'll take us 5 hours cos it's so muddy :egad:
satz123 - ooh, like that idea that anxiety is/can be excitement... like Starty's excitement with trepidation mixed in.

Right gonna clean me kit hen cos it's a tip, then to bed for a loooooong run tomorrow. First friday (at home) in a while when I aint had a couple o' beers before bed.

Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Good afternoon from the lounge!
My absence is 100% attributable to Marie Kondo who I happenstanced upon 2 days ago and have been binging ever since. Then I found Alejandra TV on YouTube and buggered off down to 24 hour Kmart to buy out their organisation section and was up until all hours last night asking my belongings if they 'sparked me with joy' and 'using vertical space'. I believe I have a new addiction. Do you know you can actually sit on YouTube and watch people clean all day?

How weird that is it snowing in Athens and I can't get out from in front of the air conditioner here?

Well done to Startypants on everything, including going after what you want unapologetically.
Glad you are feeling better Satzy. I used to love nurophen plus, for all the wrong reasons of course. It's no longer over the counter here so I guess a lot of people were using it as a mother's helper also.

I'm off to do some folding and 'file' some Tshirts. Pmsl. A girl at work was also at Kmart last night for exactly the same reason so we are going to compare photos and I am competitive.

Hey Bridgeypoo. I have seen her. Might have to give her another go. I love stuff like that. Plus with all my new found time organised will now be my middle name

Yep NP is my nemesis. We can still buy it here. I was taking 32+ per day at my worst. Horrific. I so wish they would not sell it. I could go to 3 different chemists in the same day to stock up. I know all chemists within a 10 mile radius so no one was suspicious. Full time job really keeping up that habit

Good morning everyone. Just a quick check in as have a full house. Himself was 60 yesterday so cooked nice Birthday dinner for him and we had cake etc. Going out to restaurant tonight, will be waddling by end of weekend.

God that must have been exhausting Starty. I was stocking up on flu stuff on Christmas Eve as 3 of them were sick and I got interrogated by chemist :eek-new: good to have it behind you and think how much you are saving.

starty - did you take the whole tabs - I see that people split them to get only the Codeine ? Would all that Ibuprofen not be really bad?
Sorry for all the questions but MrS has some NP and YS has been at them when sober :egad:

Hate to throw out good clothes - that I've sweated over to get a bargain .... on line mainly, in sales but never really go opportunity to wear.
I have 12 coats :egad:
- but too lazy to go to a charity shop but want my beloved clothes to go to happy homes. Would like to vet the homes

Think I may have an addiction ?

I took the lot. Couldnt be bothered to extract. It did affect my kidneys badly and stomach as the ibup causes ulcers. Very very dangerous drugs and I cannot tell you how addictive they are. They are so much harder than booze to quit for me. I would hide the NP from YS although he could easily buy his own I suppose. I would take 8 at a time at my worst as the tolerance buids up quickly
