Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Morning,
Fingers drumming on the table. Kitchen fitter was due here at 9:30am now just after 10am.
IamMary..........scooted over to ASOS........nice. Just had a rummage round the back of the wardrobe and lo and behold a pair of black boots I got donkey's years ago. If all else fails I'll get them heeled and wear them.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: January 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Morning all. Hope they turn up soon Jax.

Rustop, that sounds a perfect arrangement. The girl coming back from mat is going to appeal the decision to job share. She really wants her old job back supervising another team. But wants it on her terms ie 3-4 days per week. The business dont want that and also they have a great person already in there who covered and they want to keep it that way. So we shall see what happens next in the saga of me trying to change my life :haha:

Mary and RC heating is always on here. Wouldnt want my boys to be chilly when I am at work !

Got the boots at Office.......a shop I wouldn't dream of going into. £58 reduced from £110ish. Very dark grey, flat with a cosy lining.
starty.........I thought when you went on maternity leave you had to come back and do the same job and hours etc. They're creating a whole new job for her, I'm puzzled.

Fitter turned up about 10 mins after I posted. First two days they gut, plaster and remove all debris. Last three days install and make sure its working.........sounds simple.

Nice work on the boots Jax. Sounds lovely.

Re mat leave or anything really. Yes, if you come back on the same hours you are entitled to your job back. She has applied to come back 3 days per week so technically not the same as when she went away. By law anyone can apply for flexible working but they do not have to give it if there is a reason why not. In her job, they need someone full time. Same as my job but i have offered to consider other positions plus given them an alternative if they want me to stay in my job. All very complex and they could still turn around to me and say no. However they have said they would rather have me 3 days than none. So that is what I am banking on really.

Been out for a lovely walk this morning and done some odd jobs which I am impressed about as I was soooooo knackered yest

Kitchens ARE hell - unless you get the lovely Terry - who whistled through his day and was a pleasure to have here
Of course kitchen installation coincided with my getting sober - so I was still floating around on my pink cloud when Terry was here :haha:.

Rosie continues to be the light of our lives at the moment.
Mr S is infatuated and takes off every day to walk & show her off. Her tail doesn't wag - her whole body does
Not surprisingly I scored 8 / 8 on this test ....

satz123....100%.....happily guilty on all charges.

Poor Bess has a swollen ear flap. From extensive googling its a hematoma.......Doesn't seem to be bothering her but a trip to the vets if the swelling hasn't gone down in a couple of days.

We've got a Toby........hope he's as good as a Terry.

starty........crikey its all very complicated. Does anyone on the planet work 9 'til 5 anymore?

starty - please tell me you don't leave the heating on all day for the dogs ? :egad:
That is why they have fur - to keep them warm .... even outside.

Rosie is being trained to go outside more often now - she'll spend a lot of time out there when Summer comes. I going to get her a kennel.
I really don't think it's right for her to be inside all the time.

me, but Id prefer not to. 30 hour a week would be just lovely.. I can dream.
I can see where they are going with it for Mat girl starty. I think thats fair enough, shes getting either her old job back as she left it or the alternative part time gig if thats more suited to her life right now.

Lots of driving and plumbers assistant today (aka flushing the toilet for Mr M).

Night all X

Ha, you have clearly not had experience of a lurcher Mine does not have much fur and is a total drama queen. For example if he is cold, the whole house is not allowed to sleep until he is made warm and comfy :haha: My house is a cold house, built over a well or something and the temp drops to around 17c in the winter so its more economical to leave it on low for all our benefits.

I would be careful about leaving Rosie outside unsupervised, I hear alot about dog thefts from gardens. Stolen dogs are used for baiting, breeding or other unscrupulous activities and the thought of that happening to any dog is unthinkable but it does happen time and time again. Totally agree that the fresh air is good for them, our door is always open when we are there and they are in and out with infuriating regularity :haha:

You used to work part time didnt you Mary? What made you change back to full? I totally agree with what they are saying re her return. None of us are indespensible and the business needs do have to be met. That is why I gave them an alternative option for me. Less chance of them saying no too!

What are you having done with plumbing?

That's exactly what I was going to say. There's also the trend that these gangs leave some kind of mark on a door, gate , drive or fence to let others know there's an unattended dog in the garden. In my naivety I thought it was a thing of the past but its still going on.

Good morning all. That would be my worst nightmare, somebody taking them and not knowing where they were. Our little rescue has a blanket and she gets in under it and wraps herself up so she is lovely and warm. I do confess to having the heat come on around 3.30 pm on the days I work to keep them warm and also it’s lovely to come into warm house at 5.

Two airport runs today so better get a move on. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Jesus - if my doggie was stolen I'd be devestated.
MrS would be inconsolable .....

This may sound odd & I've told my kids.
But not having grandkids yet is what made me broody. ( I'm harbouring the thoughts of a companion for Rosie when she's older - with manners) :egad:
My family, even my mother, are aghast by the change in me towards dogs ..... mouths are literally wide open...
We shower ( spoil) Rosie with all the love a baby would get and that our kids as babies didn't get because we were too busy 'doing the right thing'. e.g. In the bed at 4am, brought everywhere, constant attention, sleeping on laps, treats.
Which is how I assume grandparents treat their kid's kids.

Ah ha ! A lurcher - I've heard they are great pets to have. Happy for a little exercise and then just plonk on the sofa.
