Yep be proud, Starty. Never give up on giving up. Have you written a list where you think you went wrong last time? It helped me.

I've heard of that woman and seen a bit on the TV. Tbh found her a bit bizarre but curiosity will get the best of me and I'll have another look.

Oh and I've got a free to good home a 3 year old gas cooker. Looking to flog the dishwasher, its only 6 months old.

Getting my locks cut after work. Just as well the hairdresser is two doors down from the shop I'm in.
Ohh whats your gas cooker like Jax. We could do with a new one. Ours is rubbish

I have a diary where I log stuff. I know exactly where I went wrong. I let stress build and build and get too tired for life. I also get the I deserve it feelings. All of a sudden my whole mind set changes and it is relentless.

I am going to watch her. I LOVE decluttering but sometimes end up chucking stuff that I miss years later

Just a quick run in to wave - I was a member years ago and it's awesome to see so many of the same folks still in this thread. Was on my way to work the other day and for some reason thought of this thread and wanted to stop by and see how everyone's getting on

Great to see you back SiC (you pre date me :happy2.

Havnt watched that de-cluttering program yet. Like Rustop, I seem to be constantly getting rid of clothes! I have become better at downgrading though - wore my Christmas dress into work today (wasn't a hohoho one).

Interesting thoughts about relapse starty. The more we know, the better equipped we can be. I remember you said it was just a run of the mill day, out for a walk and you fancied a beer? Had you any previous thoughts before that?

Very late check-in.
Blame the hairdresser........ended up having my usual post-hair-do marathon nana nap. I'll be up 'til 4am.

SiC..........well I never did. How the devil are you??

starty.its a Zanussi free-standing double gas oven (I'm so with the jargon these days). Apart from the fact, I keep calling the plinth lights .........landing lights. We'll never get the jet in the kitchen.

All of our town's post-Christmas de-cluttering clothes, bric-a-brac, shoes, unwanted Chrimbo presents are in the teeny weeny back room at the new place I'm in. Luckily today someone donated a beautiful diamante handbag........perfect for a wedding I'm going to in August The boss is going to price it up and I'll buy it Friday.

What we need are good old fashioned rag and bone men. I'm sure you used to be offered a goldfish if the stuff was half decent. I'll ask my MIL.
The skip we got in February will be repeated in July, very cathartic.

Night night, lovelies. Mind the bugs don't bite.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Arvo All,
One and the same Arsey. There are others on youtube. Amazing. That's how I spent my long weekend and it's better than sex. I'm even devising my own methods of draw division - which is disturbing, I concur.
The heat is still relentless, and even the young skinny types are over it. Record temperatures for January pretty much country-wide.
The brother keeps turning up on my lounge. Other people let him into the house. Satz, I think you and I really need get the bikers onto our house guests and scare them off permanently.
I've seen some great movies lately. I loved The Favourite and Green Book, but especially The Favourite. It was truly clever. Reminded me of Dangerous Liaisons, which was very deft indeed.
OK I'm off to declutter.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good morning all. Must check out those movies Bridget. According to this lady once you have decluttered using her method you live like that, hmmm will finish the book and see! Got a skip last summer and one coming now for the roofing stuff. Job has now expanded to re-roofing the whole back of the house. They are grand as have been outside the whole time. Need to get up in attic today so things may change. Snow promised but hopefully will stay in West, really don’t want a repeat of last year.

SiC : Is that you Inchydonney ???

Just checked I had the right person - your last post was 2014 ? - Jesus that time flew.
How has life been treating you?

IamMary well done on the downgrading of 'good' clothes.
In my job I make sure I dress up and look presentable. ( started to drift to jeans & trainers - had to stop that.)
But there are certain things one wouldn't wear so they sit waiting for an 'occasion' or till I lose 14 pounds.

As I don't go 'out out' much these days they gather dust. I often thought I'd love to own a 'pre-loved' clothes shop. I'd get enough from you lot to stock it.
With a little coffee dock & reading area ..... all comfy-like.

But time to start 'downgrading'.
Off to see the twins today - so will dress up to the nines

Morning,
satz123............we used to have a pre-loved shop. Took on the good stuff and sold them on and gave a percentage of the price paid to the donor.
When I lost a mountain of weight last year I found the wee alteration shop down the road, I've taken a few of my good stuff there get altered and I'm deliberately wearing it........says she who just chucked a sweat-shirt on over her pyjamas on Monday. I'm blaming the cold weather and sticking by that excuse.
The bags and bags of stuff that went to charity shamed me.........some with their original price tags on.:egad:
My drawers open without fuss, I can put stuff in the wardrobe without breaking into a sweat and there'll be another chuck-out in May/June.
Enjoy the twins.

rustop59......is it making you anxious? I can feel mine growing daily.

Waves to Bridgee. I'm catching up on Vikings and SVUs at the moment.

Don't get anxious trying to be normal & keeping the house normal for the few weeks.
Get dressed up & go for cheap & cheerful dinners each evening. Tell MrJC to add that on to the cost.

We had a great time. Housework was futile ... couldn't cook .... so just accepted it & headed out.
YOU are the one having your day interrupted not MrJC - so he must bring you out at the end of the day.
The End.

UK 'Drama' channel has Silent Witness from the beginning starting again soon. I've loved it ..... ringing the changes in hairstyles & clothes - as well as the gorey stuff

That's on the list and some xanax for Bess and if push comes to shove I'll move in next door. I've got plans in place to remove myself into the back bedroom. Its got a TV and a sofa bed.
Silent Witness........its good. Last night's episode was thrilling.

Mr JC's just taken his Pa for a CT scan. 7:15pm too late for an old man and not much better for his dad

Evening again

@Satz I had no it'd been that long, I thought about 2 years haha, my how the time flies

So five years on - I have my own flat now, I'm learning to drive (and I've booked my test), gone back to working in pharmacy, cut my lunatic family out of my life, broke up with my partner, changed degree twice (then quit all together, that's a long story haha) and a lot more besides. Never a dull moment with me.

How is everyone doing? anyone else of the circa-2015 crew still around or all migrated? I thought this forum had closed down to be honest, otherwise I would've swung by before half a decade had passed xD

Good morning all and welcome Sic. Don’t think I remember you, did you have a different username? Baltic here with a light dusting of snow. Don’t envy the guys on my roof. Not really bothering me as they are mainly outside. Dogs walked, fire down, think it might be a crochet day

All well here Chez Satz
Methinks the weather guys are 'crying wolf'

The weather is really not that bad - it cold - it's wet - but nothing like they were forecasting....
It seems to me that they love to get people all riled up and excited about the weather or football, rugby or anything at all really to take our minds of the policical shite going on both domestically & accross the water in the 'United' Kingdom. ( what a joke)

Ahh the weather. Have you noticed the news talks in centimetres when for years it was inches.........10cms sounds like a wall of snow, not a couple of inches. Its bitter cold and I've got a big coat and heating.

Trying to ignore the fecking mess over here but the majority has spoken. I am now a minority.

We heard this man speak at Jenny's graduation. He'd have been in his 80s. Spell bounding, inspirational and entertaining. Started out as a brick-layer when he was 16. He had us enthralled and made me fill up. I'll never forget him.
