Hi all,
Nora, I didn't know about the Joshua tree! I did see a grass hut down at the mounds the other day but not sure how it got that way. Sad stuff. I had forgotten about unpickled!. Good stuff. Glad the hospice is staying....Paulie, Happy birthday to Romeo, the little cutie!..back later, waves to Liz, Techie, Rusty and all others passing through

Re: One Step at a Time - January 2019
Hope everyone had a good Wednesday. Pauly, happy birthday to Romeo! That sure went quick! I wouldn't be waiting around until 9 pm for cake, either. I'd just have my daughter bring me some leftovers the next day. bird, I'm so done with this government shut down! Somethings got to give. Our mail carrier swears things are slow at the post office because of it too.
NOra, glad hospice is staying. I'm glad your guys are still able to manage with your mom. It's hard to watch the decline. Ts and I weren't able to see it as much as BS with my dad. She didn't see him as regularly as we did. It's honestly amazing how your brain can kick into safe mode during these tough times. That's the only way I can explain how we managed to get through. Hiw is Molly BTW?
Techie, I rarely suffer from the "itis" these days. I switched jobs about a year and a half ago and it's made a huge difference.
Rusty, hope you're not too busy working!
Have a great AF Wednesday night!

Good Morning and Cheers from Idaho Falls!
techie...no, I did not have Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday "itis" :-)
Lizann, you seem so happy since you left that job...can't believe it's been a year and a half. WOW! So glad the gov't shutdown did not affect my travel plans.
paulywogg, Pauly-Romeo looked so cute at his b-day party! Can't believe he's a year old already.
Hello to everyone else...I will post later and address everyone. Off to work and happy AF Thursday!

Pauly - I can't even believe that Romeo is one year old already! He is such a cutie pie. You are so right about Latino parties. So many of my friends are like that with not starting the party until later. Really cuts into my bedtime. LOL
Bird - did you do any walking today? You are so good at keeping that up and you find such great places to walk. I'm glad that you liked that unpickled post. I thought it was good.
Liz - I'm so glad that you don't get 'itis' days very often. That is really great.
You are so right about the brain switching into safe mode. You just do what you have to do.
Techie - really happy to see you here. You are missed when you are away.
Nothing much going on here. Mom has had a better day today. Had a little conversation with me (as best as she can) and understood what I meant when I said I been to the Doctor. She even asked me why!
I went to the dermatologist today to have that place on my nose checked. It's been over a year since he cut out the cancer so it's just a recheck. But, I had to go to a different Doctor at a different facility. Of course, I don't have any of my records. So, this Dr is talking and he said something about how do I feel about them just doing their own biopsy. I said well I would prefer not to!!! So, he said they would request the records first. Gee whiz - I would hope so!"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Nora, ugh,I'd hate to have to go through that biopsy again, hope they get your records haha,Rusty,I'll bet it's cold up there? Liz,great you rarely have "itis" some days I think work is going great, other days I just don't know,I just don't like other people's bad attitudes affecting me ya know? The girl I work with mostly is always complaining about something, mopes around and it sucks the life out of me sometimes,I don't wanna be that kind of person! Bird, what adventure is planned for today? Romeo opened a few things but was over it,he was overly tired cuz I couldn't get him to nap,I'll just save his other things for Sunday at other grammas house, wishing us all a peaceful productive AF Thursday!I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Honey - I'm home...................
I think we are at the tail end of all of the rain. We're not used to that around here. And we sure do have some stinky dogs. :turd2::dog: (Cowboy - I started laughing as I searched so hard to find these.) They go outside and of course get soaking wet, manage to find a little mud, walk thru a few puddles and then they come in to sit by Mommy.
What is everyone up to? Any big plans for the weekend? Nothing going on here.
Does anyone take Magnesium Glycinate? My nieces husband hurt his back and the Dr suggested that he take this. She told me about it because she read it could help with fibromyalgia. Sounds interesting.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful Thursday and here's to a wonderful AF Friday.

Oh - Pauly - I meant to tell you! I completely understand what you mean about people's attitudes affecting you. I try so hard not to let it affect me but sometimes it's just too much. Actually, sometimes my boss's mood affects the whole office."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: One Step at a Time - January 2019
Sounds like everyone had a good Thursday!
PAuly, I've worked with complainers too and I get it . I made a conscious effort years ago to keep my complaining to a minimum (at least at work). The newest medical assistant at work even commented on the fact that she was glad I was so even tempered and calm. It just makes it better for everyone. Logan pooped out at his 1st birthday party too. They don't know what's going on really. Does Romeo wear Louie's hand me downs?
Nora, I'm glad it was a good day for your mom today. Enjoy those smelly pets. I miss mine. I was going through my basket on the window sill and found the card with Lucy's last paw print and a bit of her hair. I'm tearing up again just typing this. Really, they want to re biopsy your nose? I would be hesitant too.
Rusty, I am happier at work now. It's a much slower pace and I actually look forward to going.
Bird, what were you up to today? Are you still making jewelry?
We are expecting a pretty rough weekend weather wise. Snow tonight and then another big storm Saturday into Sunday. They are predicting a major ice event into Monday. I worry about the ice more than anything. I know mom is worried too. She does have someone lined up to dig her out. I'm relieved I don't have to worry about my dad trying to dig out anymore. I wish I was in St Croix with CJ.
I hope everyone has a good AF night!Last edited by Lizann; January 17, 2019, 10:08 PM.

Re: One Step at a Time - January 2019
Hi all,
Nothing happening here. Been doing a 30 day yoga thing on prime. I think I'm on day 7. I forgot how good it feels. DD2 coming over in a bit, something about that audition, which I still don't know what it is. Saw this link on wfs, 60 best sober blogs...Top 6 Living Sober Blogs and Websites To Follow in 219 | Sobriety Blogs some good ones in there. Weather moving in tomorrow, gonna rain and be 70 degrees then down in the 20s hahaha......Nora, I take magnesium, heard it is good for foot cramps which I get not sure if it works well or not. Good your mom got a little conversation in. Your dog story reminded me of my dad wiping the cat paws when he would come in from the rain......Liz, I want a job like that, one that I want to go to and enjoy......Rusty, glad tsa didn't have a big line. ...Pauly, it is hard to deal with someone complaining all the time. I used to do that, then read some book and got out of the habit. Can't remember what it was.....later
