Re: February 2019 Army Manoeuvres

Evening all
MrS is driving me MAD.
When both of us are at home all day it's hell :egad:

Where you going ?: what did you buy that for ?: TWO hours in the shops ? how much was THAT ?: where will I put this ? ( I won't answer that one)
Sign in my porch never said a truer word :

Morning all. Week from hell here for one reason or another. Hospital appt which was painful but luckily all is good. Now I have a cold which has me on my knees. I never get colds but this one has really floored me. Still no news and I am getting rather pissed off. My bro says I should tell them to sort it out or I leave. Hoping against hope I hear today.

Welcome Minstar, there are some very wise ladies here to support you.

Satz I am reading an amazing book written by a dog trainer that I have trained with. Its called Easy Peasy Puppy Squeazy by Steve Mann. He is my absolute idol and I wish I had this book when mine were young. I am sure it will give you loads of information for Rosie and I really recommend you get it. Its on Amazon.

Happy Friday all. Limping into the weekend here

Morning,
They're taking the p*** now, Starty, love. They've had a bucketload of time to sort this. I'm with your brother on this. Although as Mr. JC and I tick along nicely on one salary its easy for me to say.

You should see the hotel that they've picked for the S&H's stag do. Am I naive in thinking it would be some kind of grotty B&B.........its fecking 4 starred. :egad:

Off to work.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: February 2019 Army Manoeuvres

They have confirmed!!! Start first or second week of March for a 6 month trial to make sure it all works. I am happy with that as trials work both ways. Just the finer details to work out eg like how it is going to work re training, splitting work etc. Relieved and the final touches next week

The stag do should go off with a bang ! I hate stuff like that but sure he will have a ball

Re: February 2019 Army Manoeuvres

We lived on 1 salary as well for a number of years. As Mr S is older now I dont really want to put that pressure on him plus I do quite enjoy many aspects of my work but do not enjoy the relentless long days and exhausting weeks. I think this solution will be ideal (I hope)

Evening everyone. Oh Starty I am made up for you and am sure you will love it. :welldone::welldone:

The younger generation are very good to themselves JC, No making do if they can help it. My roofers are very much alive and multiplying in numbers. Can’t wait to see the back of them. Keep finding more things to do but at this stage I have called a halt. No more money, end of

Delighted regarding young Satz, it means he has not given up trying and one of these days it will stick. Storm Eric promised, ugh. We were meant to be going up Howth head tomorrow but postponed.

Mr. JC's 4 years younger than me so I'll keep him on the treadmill for a while.
Ma and Pa in law been married 63 years this week. They must be quite fond of each other.
Right off to do a bit of late night grocery shopping. Blooming wedding in the middle of nowhere tomorrow and an empty fridge.

Evening all ....
Quick pop in to say goodnight.
Long day today with hospital, shopping, gym and ferrying YS to his gym ( he has a 2 year driving ban)-
Told him this was a once off - that these are the consequences for him of drinking alcohol. I gave him lock for his bike

Hi all, still have rotten cold but managed a 5 mile walk this morning in the gale. Was lovely. All very excited about my new life and semi retirement. Just need to ensure that I do not let my mind wander into dangerous territory.

Hope the wedding is OK jax.

Minstar I feel your pain about not sleeping. Since I hit menopause my sleep is not so good and am often tossing and turning in the night and waking up tired. Not good for the head. Can you have a nana nap to recover?

Hey starty
Well done on your 5 mile walk. I should take a nap now as kids and hubby are out but I’m perusing this site. Not a bad thing, as I would have had a drink by now. I’ve spent some time reading people’s stories. Trying to work on tactics to not let the evil anxiety kick in around this time.
Keep your mind strong

Minstar you are doing exactly the right thing. Surround yourself with sobriety stories, podcasts and literature. Almost brainwash yourself with it. Take other options off the table and make a decision that you are a non drinker and therefore need to find other methods to ease anxiety. They will come given time. If you google Hip Sobriety they are currently offering a free course on overcoming cravings. I have signed up for it and will do it later. You can do this you know. Alcohol exacerbates anxiety in the long run but I am sure you know this already.
