Re: One Step at a Time - February 2019
Hi all
Nora, I will have to check the weather. My cousins live in Valencia, I bet they would like some snow. ...Liz, glad you got the paint finished. The moulding sounds like a pain. I know when I was welding and had to cut angle iron I had to be so careful not to cut the angles backwards hahaha......Not many people at the play last, and yes dd1s 1st time as stage manager. It was good, and will go again Saturday with dd2.....I have been wanting to go to the beach, but it is 3 hours away at least, Savannah and then some. It is nice in winter as nobody is there and the motels are cheap. I could go and back in the same day, but is tiring. Looking spring like out today, will do something....have a good Friday all....b

Re: One Step at a Time - February 2019
Hi and happy Friday. Long tough day at the office. Computers were acting up just for a change. Now I'm off to this coffe house entertainment thing that I really have no desire to attend at church. Really just want to go to bed? How was everyone else's Friday?

Re: One Step at a Time - February 2019
Hi all
Thank you so much for all the shout outs.
Well, I needn't have worried how I'd spend my time - I've hardly stopped for the last couple of weeks. Work has been crazy and I’ve been playing catch-ups with a few things. Also, as some of you know, I'm a bit of a minimalist clean freak, and I thought my home was looking pretty good, but it's amazing how many more things you can find to clear out or clean when you have the time. I've also been having fun turning my office from a utilitarian study space covered in academic paperwork, into a lovely study that I can use for my personal stuff.
Nora – I hope your Mom’s ok. I’ve had the Samsung 8 for a year or so, so if you need any help let me know.
Liz – I hope you’re feeling better after feeling so down on Valentine’s Day.
Rusty – I might not hear for 5 months, so it’s just a waiting game now. But I’m also waiting for a review of the final journal article I need to have published, so that may also take a while.
Hello to Pauly, Bird, Minstar – I hope I haven’t missed anyone.

Re: One Step at a Time - February 2019
Good Morning, Dear Friends!
Glass Half Empty-SO great to hear from you. It must feel so good to reorganize and create a space that is not overwhelmed by academic materials. Ah...just a personal and peaceful sanctuary...a respite after all these years of hard work. Fingers crossed that your article will be published.
Lizann-tomorrow is a big day for you...a milestone. :sohappy: Please let us know if we should NOT advertise through a thread, etc. I know you are a very private person and the last thing I or we want to do is embarrass you or make you anxious. I bet your living room looks amazing. Yes, ditto what everyone says...get new chairs....it's too expensive to reupholster. How was the event at church last night?
paulywogg, Pauly-I loved the pic of Lou in his karate uniform. I took Tae Kwon Do for two years in high school and I got very close to earning my black belt. I quit because I was afraid of the flying moves I would have to perform. I was a chicken sh@t-I was too afraid of getting hurt. It gave me a lot of confidence, though. Snow in Vegas? Wow!
NoraC-so glad you got to visit with Savannah. How old is she now? How is your Mom doing? Is there anyway you could drive to the mountains to see the snow?
bird-congratulations on dd1's success as a Stage Manager! How exciting for her. I have spoken to A LOT of welders over the years in my career. I always admired their attention to detail and having the talent to just work off a blueprint.
Exercise, paperwork, cleaning...that is my Saturday. I work locally all week and then leave for Canada (Again! :-() on Sunday. So sick of traveling.
Big hellos to techie, NoSugar, abcowboy and anyone I missed...Happy AF Saturday!

Rusty, lol, how did you remember my milestone? You are something else. Thanks for remembering, you are so sweet! Advertise away, I really don't mind one way or the other. I am proud of myself in one respect, but in another this is the way it should always have been. Can't believe how fast it went! I love you for your support, your the best:love:
Glassy how fun you're redoing your study! Sounds like your enjoying a different focus right now. Just thinking today how different redoing our living room is now compared to 30 years ago! I went on line tonight and scrolled through numerous websites for new arm chairs. I did find the perfect ones and ordered them right here while wearing sweatpants and slippers! I have a cramp in my finger from all that scrolling
Bird, Nora, Pauly, hope you guys had a good day. MInStar, how are you doing over there?
Have a great AF night!Last edited by Lizann; February 23, 2019, 08:25 PM.

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Re: One Step at a Time - February 2019
Hello everyone. Wow, quiet here today. Everyone must be celebrating Liz's big day. Another great big CONGRATULATIONS to you, Liz. Huge achievement. :heartbeat:
Pauly - poor Romeo. I just hate it when our little ones are sick. I remember that they had talked about it might coming to that with Casey too. Luckily we didn't have to.
Cowboy - beautiful cake your brought for the party.
Bird - I hope you are feeling better. Was it the stomach flu?
Glassie - well, I guess it was wishful thinking that you would have to worry about filling your time. Ha, ha. Glad that you are geting your study into a 'you' space. I need to dig into my mound of junk again. I'll never be able to have a really minimalist home like you. But, I certainly can start trying. Ha, ha
How is the pregnancy going? How is she feeling?
Rusty - Sorry you have to travel again. How many more years are you planning on working? Just curious if you can start cutting back to only local clients in a few years.
Anybody watching the oscars? I haven't been watching but I know that it's on. I'm going to say goodnight. Have to get up early. Doing an e-mail switch over at work tomorrow. I feel like I'm doomed before it's even started. My boss has gone on & on about how is it going to look, etc. It's something that we have to do whether it all looks exactly the way she wants or not. She has made this a very difficult project but that is that usual way it is.
So, I am off to have sweet dreams and will greet the morning with a great big smile. I hope everyone else does too."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett
