Lovely car rustop59, will it be a dogmobile too or do you mostly just walk them locally?

byebyebridgetjones, Did you get out in your garden much this weekend?

Agree with you on the shame side of things starty. But remember YS didnt want to move into Satz's mothers house because there was family close by and would probably drop in unannounced (always had me on edge), so he must still feel ashamed.
Would any of us be here now if we could keep drinking in a room with noone to bother or judge us (except those who already know)?

Cleaning, feeding, laundry and ferrying the kids about (got a parkrun in first, priorities :happy2

Goodnight all.

Thanks for huggles JC, I can always count on you. It's one of those moods that everyone gets and you just have to snap out of it.
I like the sound of a little Cleo there Rustop. Don't understand large cars with the price of fuel.

Not much gardening Mers. It's still bloody hot here. I'm sure we got up to 30 degrees today and it's supposed to be Autumn - my favourite season.
We went out for lunch with the youngn' and his girlfriend for her birthday today. Her family came along, Spanish they are. Nice meal was had. To be honest she's very quiet around me and I've been struggling to understand the relationship a bit. But as we were pulling out of the restaurant carpark she put the car window down and drunkenly screamed 'muchas gracias fuckers' to her family. So now I know.

I had an enormous amount of fun watching After Life last night. Ricky Gervais. Language warning.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good morning everyone. Hope the cold is a bit better today JC and that you are feeling less blue Bridget. Did the 4 hour hike yesterday and we were very lucky with the weather. Tired after it but still awake early this morning. Doggies will be coming in new car but are relegated to boot. Woods are only 5 minutes away and they have my present car destroyed. Have to travel in boot of his lordships car and are used to it. On long journeys I will put their beds on back seat.

Morning.
Someone have a word with the powers that be that its Spring. Bit of snow, a bit of hail, biting wind.....I'm cold.

Been up for ages but faffing about......found a website that does free cross-stitch patterns so printed a few off. Finished Minnie the Mouse cushion cover.....found a lady who will turn that one and the Micky one into cushions....so need something for idle hands. Think I was getting reptitive strain with the crochet so put that aside for a few weeks.......my thumb is very achy.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning, well if we could just trade a bit of Bridge's heat for this wind JC, Id be happy! Im in the car watching sons match afraid I'll blow away if i get out. We just had a mini hailstone storm! But the sun us shining now, so its nice wrapped up in the car

Happy travelling rustop59. Were you tempted to go electric? I went half way with a hybrid and its proving to be very economical. When Im in a position to get a smaller car (Vs family model), I'll definitely go all electric.

That was an eye opening observation Bridge! No love lost there so.. is she 'the one' do you think? Are any of yours married yet?

Bracing the wind now.. get the spare room ready JackieClaire, I may get blown over..

My sentiments exactly.

It's feckin freezings here. Tried a wee run earlier. Just got wet.

Good to read peeps' posts about their AL journey - much rings true here too. It was the nightly consumption, hardly ever a night off (to the extent that I could not remember the last time I'd had a night off booze before logging onto MWO). But I have to give us all credit that we have had the intelligence and self-realisation to see our problem and try to deal with it. Which makes me think of YS satz123 - It's like there's two brains in his head: the one that is aware of the reality he is living and the other that is not. And ne'er the twain have met. I think the AL brain has the ability to turn off that part of us that realises that what we do is so damaging. Like it tries to make us believe what we do is ok, or at least that there is valid excuse for doing it. When there isn't.

Hope you're all having a super Sunday. I'm off for a late shower... Big waves all

IamMary, stay indoors just turned the TV over for the rugby and saw the weather over your way.......:egad:
And in the time its taken me to write that sentence you've now got sleet.........such fun.
We're having it easy with just high winds and rain.
RunningCourage........There must be two brains...........no-one in their right mind would set out to drink themselves to death or look for a cure. Sure there's a load of science somewhere.
Oh, the sun's out now.

It is bloody freeeeeeeeeezing...not enjoying this weather at all at all.

Bridge has your melon collie garn away yet? I loathe that feeling and it can and does visit me from time to time.

I think we all have two brains. Like the 2 wolves, good and evil. Sometimes one takes over and sometimes the other....very tiring for the poor sap trying to live with them.

Busy weekend here and now sitting down to watch after life. Love Ricky G. He was superb in Derek that I have watched a number of times. Got my housework done at 7am just to ensure I did it before I went back to work :haha:

Funny you should say that RC. That is exactly the logic he used the other night when he drank. "Yeah I've had a drink but .... "I've done nothing wrong"

I remember standing with one hand on hip, chin out, waving a glass of wine and saying 'Don't you judge me'.

Just finished watching The Knight's Tale. The Heath Ledger one.........laughed and cried. How did I miss this over the years its been shown on TV? Fabulous.

Evening All.
Too true there Satz. Goes for a lot of things, where-ever you put the energy and all that. Starting to sound like The Secret now, but it's just true.

I might apply that energy to the doldrums. Thanks Dr S!

I don't mind the GF Mary. The family laughed their heads off, so was all OK. But I went to buy her a birthday present and was lost - indicating that I don't know her at all. So I must address that. I think I like her a lot actually.

I loved Derek, Starty, and was going to try to get the full thing to watch soon. Look at you having some spare time, eh? This week you'll be able to really get into it. God that would be nice.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

I SOBBED through the last parts of After Life. Honestly it was the best series I have seen in a long time. Dark humour, stuff to relate to and finally lots of hope. Wonderful.

I remember battling not to slur my words or breathe booze over people.....and to not be too much of a dick. Exhausting

I think I have started a trend. Met with 2 ladies yesterday who are also on their knees with the work situation. After our coffee meet both are putting longer term plans in place so they can leave or work less. Both said they dont care if they earn a bit less and have the pressure reduced. Gawd, what a way to live eh? Horrible how the need to eat and have a roof over your head can make you feel like you have sold your soul to the devil trying to earn a crust. Grateful.com here

Very quiet. I hope all are tickety boo?

Evening all. Wild and windy here. Had to chauffeur just after getting in from work so only getting fed now. I’m in the middle of After Life and really enjoying it. Is Derek on Netflix? Must check it out. The electric cars are crazy prices. There is a Renault Zoe but it was €27k so would need to come down a lot before I would consider one.Hope all are doing well.
