ps
I've never understood the attachment to dogs - till now.
My Rosie is the light of our lives - asleep here beside me.
Mr S said yesterday - who didn't want a dog at all - "what did we do before Rosie" ?

She's more loyal than me. She sleeps on the spare bed with him when he's in there sometimes (has to be done 'cos of the twitching he does with his dodgy knee) :haha: and I have work next day
If they want to keep you, they will probably consider your request regardless of age. They said that they would rather have me 3 days than none and I didnt disabuse them of that thought.

Animals grab your heart and do not let go. I am privileged to have learned that at an early age and been able to benefit from it all my life. Heartbreaking at times but my absolute go to on a daily basis to keep me grounded.

.
There were 10 of us on part time hours and they took us all back in full time 2 years ago. My problem is that by job is only 10 mins away. A longer commute could negate reduced hours. What your company do is sensible and logical.

I remember about three years ago he announced on FB that he had three years sober and the stream of his so-called mates trying to get him to have a few pints. I don't normally 'expose' for want of a better word myself on FB as an alkie but I got angry with them so banged out a post about my not drinking and how very proud I was of him and to take no heed of the ignoramusses.
To me he's a star.
Good read JC, they both look like lovely wholesome people :happy2:
Sometimes I wonder about the kids of people like me, had I continued to drink. Or even a notch or 2 down. Regular parents who hold down decent jobs, keep fit, eat well, but drink every night and suffer the effects most days. Daily drinking is normal. the fridge has milk and wine in equal measures.. This wasnt the case in the 60s, 70s and 80s, and we are a product of those decades.
Then again, theres a big culture shift with the young ones these days, they are all into fitness and clean eating.

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Yes I am only 10 or less mins away too. Its the exhaustion for me. I just felt so old and knackered. If you are set on doing it, I would recommend just having an off the record chat with your boss and get a feel for their thoughts. I did that and then put in a formal request. It was out of respect really to them

Evening folks and the answer is I wanna grow one of these : Gunnera manicata, Giant rhubarb : buy Gunnera manicata, Giant rhubarb / Gunnera manicata

So I built a bog garden.

I agree Mary there has been a shift back with the current generation as far as I can see. Looking after your health or watching you levels of drinking was seen as almost a weakness when I was in my 20s, as far as I could tell with my peers.
Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB)...........I love rhubarb. Our feeble efforts ended up with two stalks and have a ton of roots.
abcowboy....bless your heart ......Its all a bit commercialised for me these days........I pine for the cards the kids made when they were at school.

Line of Duty a must see. x 5

Another link.......Nearly 3% of young people in England do not drink, study finds | Society | The Guardian

Fiddling with the clocks overnight has left me a tad jet-lagged.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Cowboy - that's like saying that Canada is part of the United States :egad:
We're the green part - we gave away the 6 northern counties in a compromise & the UK won't give it back - hence 'the Northern Ireland troubles' for decades ......
A lot of folk want a United Ireland. If they want to stay as British let them I say.
Though I'd say a lot are running to get Irish passports with the shenanigans over in UK & leaving Europe.....
