You're going through a period of transition its bound to be a bit uncomfortable and at times exciting..........roll with the changes. Don't think about being older........think of it as being wiser............says she who got a pink flamingo watering can for her birthday along with a squeeky chicken and a hedgehog that lights up when its dark.........and I'm thrilled.

Again thank you for the birthday wishes a splendid day was had.........I shall @ you all tomorrow as Mr. JC's just walked in with a curry.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JC! A tad belated but heartfelt!
I think reflecting on the year that has been and is coming - is the perfect way to celebrate another year of your life passing. Maybe we should all treat our birthdays as a day of sumation.

Starty, it's early days love. You've probably forgotten how to appreciate having enough time, like we all have. There are a lot of things I like about living in this era but we don't have enough time to just think. So much for the digital age giving us more time back. I don't think so.

I'll be in the garden with KTAB (in spirit). In my garden anyway. Looking forward toa good productive Easter break. I'll be getting back into the Marie Kondo-ing as well Rustop. The charity shops must be full to the brim these days.

Off with another bloke already i see Jonesy. Gardening = mindulness = in the moment, so no suffering for that/them moments. With daily practice, living in the moment for 2 seconds without thought can be increased to 5 secs, 60 secs, 5 minutes, 30 etc etc. When i'm living sober i am a happy chappy even with life's stresses.

I was in rehearsal with a big hairy drummer yesterday (think muppet show = exact image!) and talk turned to Marie Kondo. Well, this bloke went off! He had photo's on his phone of his underwear, shirt, jean draws and how he could easily fit in triple via Marie's folding methods. He was a big rap for her. Then they gave me a band t-shirt and i asked him to demonstrate his new found folding skills. I was impressed. He's a good catch for someone......just remind me not to room with him on the road. lol.

No indeed Mr G. We can't have an enormous hairy biker/drummer folding your knickers into neat parcels and standing them on end, ordered by colour.

Yes when I heard about your Brazillian chica I draughted KTAB in as my revenge gardening buddy affair.

I have given up on any structured plan for today. I've decided the odd load of washing while lounging on the deck is the way to go. And I won't allow self to feel guilty about it.

Thanks guys you are all spot on. Transition, gentleness and acceptance all need to feature heavily in my thinking.

Mr G Love that Image of the kondo drummer :haha: I need to kondo my knickers I think. Fed up with the jumbled pile that awaits me each morning.

Bridge, enjoy your down time and do whatever floats your boat.

Today off to London to see about Mr S cataracts. Cannot wait to get that sorted as he has not been happy not seeing well. Understandably. Tomorrow the familam are visiting and Sat we are off to Norfolk for a week. All very exciting and I think my lowish mood is down to a really difficult few days in the workhouse and pain in my hip. Have made another appt to see the consultant as it does seem to have deteriorated over the last couple of years. Constant pain and discomfort is wearing.

Laughed at Mr G’s story about the drummer. That’s the part of my new system Hubby finds difficult, need to give him some lessons. Garden is calling, catch up later.

Went into town this morning to meet a pal. We had mahoosive ice cream sundaes and I got huge sugar rush..........my house isn't half tidy now.
and you're never going to believe this, bumped into the moaning bloke from SMART. Don't know what's happened..........could have been a good bit of being sober and clean.......but he looked well and full of praise for the drug services etc.

Night Bridge..
Off now until Wednesday. Conversation came up in work today about drinking and a colleague asked me what I drank, I said I dont, and this ping ponged on for a while, nothing at all?, not even a glass of wine? blah blah. Hes a really nice guy but I think he was so shocked that he blurted out (on front of 2 others), are you a recovering alcoholic or something! I said no (sorry self) no, just happier not to do hangovers etc etc. They had many questions

Socks are the biggest issue in my house. There could be up close to 100 in the unmatched basket :egad:
My friend recently counted 337 in hers, so Im actually not too bad!

Morning All!
How weird about moany SMART guy JC....we were only just talking about him. Interesting that his head space has turned around so abruptly. Sober time will do that.

Can't believe people and their attitude to drinking, Mary. For God's sake, grog is not a food group. No wonder people struggle to stay sober with all that pressure and expectation. Would they insist on someone with anaphylaxis eating seafood that could kill them? Nuts? Gotta have them because everyone should eat nuts?
I think I mentioned that a group of friends and I get together on Friday nights. One of them came out and said weeks ago that she is recovering and has been dry 14 months. Well last week she walked in with a bottle of wine because she'd had a shit week. I'm afraid I took it and hid it. Childish I know but I just couldn't stand the thought of it. You should have heard the carry on. One woman, who admits that her husband is an alcoholic and who should know better, went on and on about this woman's right to have a drink as an adult. I could have slapped her. Anyway, as far as I know she didn't drink. Why can't people just bloody well be supportive of people's personal choices to improve themselves?

Right I'm off to do a read through and thence to the garden.

Morning folks, a very belated happy birthday to our beloved JC.

On the day I wish someone had of done that for me Bridgeypoos, though at the time it wouldn’t have stopped me. The next day however I would have been so relieved knowing the pain it would cause going forward into groundhog day. Thankfully I have managed to break the cycle again.
I couldn’t agree more about people’s attitude to AL, never once has someone forced me to smoke cause I don’t or shoved a Big Mac down my throat because I don’t eat meat. Yet say I don’t want AL and it can be taken as an affront, a personal slight.

Good morning everyone. Totally agree Tabs and Bridget, especially in this country. Not going away for Easter �� so going to enjoy the garden, the weather is promised lovely. Might get a few nice hikes in too. Simple pleasures but so much better than poisoning myself.
