Re: May 2019 Army Thread 2019

Delighted the procedure went so well starty and delighted the snore strips works for Mr JC JackieClaire! never heard of them. Let us know how night 2 goes (now you know they wont kill him )
I think I'm a bit like Rustop, as long as I get to sleep before the heavy stuff starts, Im grand. Its a kind of train track rhythm then and I dont seem to notice it. But a whisper from one of the kids and Im up like a bullet. Although recently, they do need to whisper a bit louder, apparently.

Horrible wet dull day but apparently we're getting a heatwave next week :radiate:. Apparently.

Late night check-in.

starty........can't believe its working already. How fab is that?
IamMary..........night two of the no snoring strips.......I'll be starting a SHOUTY thread when he gets a week
I got him to iron a couple of his work shirts.......told him it was good physio for his leg.

12 weeks to go 'til the wedding. Going to Debenhams tomorrow to destroy another couple of hat stands.

Nighty night, lovelies.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good morning everyone. Awake bright and early. Delighted it has worked for Mr S Starty. Oh heatwave Mary, fingers crossed. 12 weeks JC, you will never feel it. Isn’t it wonderful to be so established in your sobriety. I’m assuming the whole socializing isn’t an issue for you? Although family events bring their own pressures. I have crochet this morning, happy days. Did I mention 6 of us are going to Spain for 6 nights in 3 weeks and bringing our wool! Our teacher has a place over there. We have such a laugh in class, hopefully it will work out.

Morning,
rustop59.........how good is that. Spanish crocheting. Hope there's air-con.
I have my limits..........when it gets too rowdy I come home.........at the wedding we've got a room booked so I can just slink off there when it gets to silly drinking time. I've developed an instinct for homing in on the non-drinkers and the what I used to call the 'lightweights'.
Mr JC has promised not to roll up his trouser legs and do the Angus Young dance from ACDC's to Whole Lot of Rosie as well.
Off into town for eyebrows. Bacinabit.

Morning all! glad the snoring tape worked. I fear Mr S is too far gone, need separate rooms with shut doors in between us!

That trip sounds fab Rustop, I am sure you will have a great laff

DOne a lovely little 5k round the reseviour with one dogger and now off for a 7k with another one. Love the fact I can get out so often these days. I cannot wait to be able to do it without pain tho!

How many hats do you need :haha:

starty........they're honestly worth a try. I'm amazed........but its only day 2 of no snoring. So I'm trying not to get too excited.

Many hats have been tried on and discarded. The only one I've liked was navy blue and I'm wearing pinks & greys. I could knit one of my beanies and stick a flower in it

What about getting an interesting hair piece made JackieClaire? At least your hair wont get flattened!
rustop59, that sounds like the makings of a memorable weekend! The mental image is making me laugh! how will you navigate the bottles of wine?

Baking all evening, family communion tomorrow, so Im on the (celiac friendly) cake.
Zonked and ready for bed.

Anyone remember how we managed all of this back in the drinking days?

Good morning everyone. Nice and bright and at least not raining. My friend is working so I won’t get a long hike but will walk the doggies. Enjoy the communion Mary. Not worried about the drinking with this group, two don’t drink at all due medical issues and all our socializing so far has been without alcohol. The plan is crocheting, long walks, reading and eating. Must get the name of those strips JC, might make a good Fathers Day present. Enjoy your walks Starty. Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

Morning,
Day three of NS (not No Sugar although it would be nice to see her). Mr JC went next door for a couple of beers last night (usually a cue for immense snorting) and still not a peep.
We're so impressed he's off to buy some more. rustop59.........we'll see how it goes while we're away and I'll give a proper assessment.
I know there might be some think its trivial but the rows we've had over the last couple of weeks have been awful.
In the HALT thing, I was definitely Angry and Tired and tbh a tad Lonely...........that kind of lonely when you're a bystander and can't do anything to help...........hope that makes sense. Not good omens for an alkie.
I've popped my crochet away for a bit......I was getting very achy hands and joints. So I'm back to cross-stitching.

Lovely walks today and met up with some nice people and their dogs. I am quite sociable it seems :haha: Already done my tesco shopping at 6 so the rest of the day will be.......housework. Has to be done and I am trying to make friends with it albeit slowly. I do miss my cleaning lady very much :egad:

I wish I knew........the snoring hasn't helped.
It was just such a shock. I've been having to bully him into moving..........I know its frightened the life out of him but he's got to move or he'll end up using a stick for ever more and he's been very resentful. I felt/feel like Nurse Ratchet out of One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest.
Its not the Mr JC I know.
Anyway, these few days away will do us the world of good.

Evening,
Is this all going on since he dislocated the hip JC? That hes not moving as much as before?
Are you getting a good nights sleep now? I know lack of sleep amplifies absolutely everything, so that wouldnt have helped.

Thats great rustop59, you will have a ball with that lot :happy2: It must be a great comfort to know that drink is not going to be an issue. Often its just the build up to an event that I would get anxious about.. will everyone be drinking, will I feel the pressure, etc etc. 10/10 times its never the case, but my brain is a bit slow sometimes.
Communion was lovely, very laid back. Much more not drinking than drinking and I think thats the reality now, which is great.
Ate my weight in deserts so feel slightly queasy now.

Wave to byebyebridgetjones, hope you doing ok.
