Hi all,
Dd2 on her way home, I am gonna spend the night in Atlanta since she gets in early tomorrow morning. Probably going to head out early and do some hiking on the way.Dd1 is upset about her tv and wanting a new one.Says all the ports are messing up. Not sure if I believe her or not, think she just wants one with more hdmi ports, her and her roomies play games like crazy all the time..she lies about stuff being broken sometimes to get something else so I will have to investigate....ugh, Liz, having to go to work as soon as you got back? Hope the jet lag doesn't last long.....waves to Paulie, Nora and Rusty....

Poor Rome. Are they going to switch his antibiotics?

I agree with the long ass week comment.

Pauly, poor Romeo! It's hard on everyone when the little ones are grumpy. Sorry it's been such a long week for. I don't even know what day it is anymore. Happy Anniversary! Did you guys go out and celebrate?

BIrd, does your daughter want you to purchase the new tv? Have fun hiking!

Nora, how are you feeling? Any improvement yet? I'm a little worried about you NoraC. How is little Savannah doing? Got up a little later this morning, I guess I'm getting over the jet lag. So now I have a sore throat! That's what I get for going on vacation!

RUsty, how is your work week going? How is your mom doing?

Had a lot of fun with Logan today. It's pretty warm here the past two days so we let him play in the yard with water. He had a blast. Took him to my mom this afternoon. He's so good with her. Its still hard to go home (by mom) without daddy there, sigh. I had to run to the farmers market real quick today across the street from my house. As I was walking in a man was walking out and I immediately recognized him as a the addiction counsellor I had about 2 years ago. I think he recognized me too but we just walked past each other, awkward!
Anyway, hope you all have a great AF night.

Re: One Step at a Time - June 2019

Good Morning, Dear Friends!

I am at home but swamped with work tasks and a plan to take my first walk on the lake path because it will be warm and sunny today. Then dinner tonight with my dear friend at my favorite waterfront restaurant. :-)
Lizann! You are home! We missed you SO SO much! The pictures of Italy were breathtaking and NO, you didn't post too many! Mark looks like he's having a ball in London. Good for him. You and hubs have raised a fine son. Logan is so cute and animated...loved the outdoor water pictures.

Ooohh...running into your addiction counselor...yes, awkward. I have a story to share. It will make you feel better...haha! Sooo….I have known, Ann, a local psychiatrist who treats people with addictions, since 1997. I was in a pre-law school class with her husband. Anxiety stricken-she prescribed an anti-anxiety drug for me so I wouldn't wig out while taking the LSAT. Since she was so nice to me, I went back to her as I was mourning the loss of my best friend and I needed a prescription. One day, I showed up at her office, drunk. She made me call a friend to pick me up. I was so embarrassed!!! I wrote an apologetic letter to her but I was so ashamed because she lives nearby and I run into her at the grocery store all the time. She told me that she is not allowed to acknowledge me, by law, for privacy reasons, since I had been one of her patients unless I acknowledge her first. THEN, to make matters even more awkward, she belongs to my health club and I see her quite often. We just say hello to each other and smile, but really, I wish I didn't bump into her all the time. She is a bitter reminder of a very sad time in my life. Oddly enough, several years ago, when I ran into her at the health club, I asked about her husband's law practice and she said she didn't know...he had left her for a much younger woman and they had moved to Texas. See, don't you feel better?

NoraC-how is your pain today? Can the doctor prescribe something else?

bird-your girls keep you busy and you do an amazing job of keeping up.

paulywogg-Happy Anniversary to you and hubs. Adorable pictures on FB. So sorry to hear about Rome>

Hi to sweet Glass Half Empty! Glassy... We miss you!

Hello to all other friends, visitors and occasional lurkers. You know who you are! Hahahah!

Happy AF Friday.

Morning friends, Rome's face is better thank goodness! They gave him a different antibiotic when he developed the rash,Lou's allergic to penicillin and I'm wondering if Romeo is developing an allergy to it too? Rusty, that is a cringeworthy story, aah,I went to my docs drunk a million times, even once had an open beer in my purse that I dropped on the floor in the lobby! Why did we think we were fooling anyone? I guess maybe I might of cuz nobody ever said anything but maybe it's written in my chart I don't blame you for not wanting to bump into her cuz it's a reminder of terrible times in your life,Liz,glad you got to spend time with Logan I'll bet he missed you tons Bird, how's your cravings been? Mine were outrageous yesterday! I think just the long feeling week, stressful people, etc were wearing me down,I just bided my time til I could go to bed but the feeling was very uncomfortable Nora,I worry about you too like Liz said, seems like you're just a little down or maybe overwhelmed with all that's going on,I hope things will be better with your pain, hubs' pain and your mom soon, waves to Glassy, wishes for a happy and healthy AF Friday!!!!

Happy Friday! Rusty, oh yeah I feel better after your story! I didn't know they aren't allowed to acknowledge you, that makes me feel better too. I'm doing much better without him for sure. But I don't want to talk about it. Glad you're enjoying your lake walks again. I love that the days are longer now, too. paulywogg, I have to agree with you, who did we think we were kidding?

PAuly, glad Romeo is doing better. Those kind of allergies do tend to run in families.
bird, I'm sure you're off enjoying your weekend. Can't wait to hear about it.

Nora, Glassy and anyone else who might be lurking, hope you're enjoying your Friday!
Anyone doing anything fun?

I went to help set up for our annual church garage sale. Spent most of the day there and I'm exhausted. It's pretty much ready to go for next weekend. Tomorrow my sisters and I are going to moms house and wash her windows. She said not to, but we are insisting. We know how much dirty Windows bother her. Hoping even though it's manual labor we will have some laughs. Still dealing with a cough and sore throat and I'm just so darn tired, so I'm headed to bed early. Wishing you all a great AF night!

Hi all
Welcome home Liz, I'm really glad to see that you're adjusting to your new role as an empty nester parent so well.

Nora, Bird and Pauly - I hope your respective: daughters; granddaughters; and grandsons are all doing OK!

Rusty - you're so sweet. I wondered the other day do you have to physically travel so much? Is there no way you could technology for what you do?

Hi all,
Dd2 is home and brought me some stuff, olive oil, soap and a rock. Something else she said she will give me later. She put a fb post up about a mile long. Talked all the way home and very very tired....so while I was waiting at the airport there was a violinist playing. I watched awhile, there was a guy kinda dressed like a thug, he was dancing and very happy about her playing. I thought he might have been drinking. Then he talked to her a bit, she started playing again and he sang. What a voice! I was shocked!....still raining here, I have tomatoes like crazy I will have to do something with them today....so dd1 is going to save her money and buy the tv herself since she doesn't want the old tv I offered hehe.....Liz, you have a market across the street? I am jealous. Have fun washing windows....Rusty, glad you are getting to walk the lake. Dinner with the friend sounds fab......Nora, I had been thinking you might be a bit down too, or maybe just quiet. So much going on in your life, how is Savannah doing?......Paulie, I have been having bad cravings too. Glad Roms face is better. I don't think I ever put a beer in my purse, but I used to pour them into empty pop cans and drink at work....lazy day here, I love the rain...Glassie it is good to see you....

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening, Friends!

It's a beautiful day here and I am just getting ready to go for my walk after sleeping in this morning. I had a nice time with my friend at dinner....ran out of time to walk on the lake path yesterday but will do so today. I have today all to myself so it will be exercise, paperwork and maybe I will be washing windows, too. They are so dirty. I keep forgetting to mention that two people I thought would never stop drinking (they are moderate drinkers) stopped drinking completely and do not miss it.:welldone: One person is my client, the CEO of a company of 200 people. She's 63, and was a wine collector for many years. She used to tell me how much she looked forward to her wine at the end of a long day at work. When I saw her in April, she looked amazing...she had lost 20 lbs. and her face just glowed. She told me that over the years, she had put on 70 lbs. and decided last October she had to stop drinking. She does not miss it. She is fine with water. I was shocked! The other person is a close childhood friend who did not have a problem with drinking, but who had gone to a couple of birthday celebrations and had overdone it on the booze. She stopped drinking altogether and she does not miss it, either. She is happy with water.
bird-that is so cool that dd got to sing at the airport. Wow...your kids are rock stars. Sorry about the cravings. Can you get some vitamin supplements? They usually help.
Glass Half Empty, Dear Glassy:
Rusty - you're so sweet. I wondered the other day do you have to physically travel so much? Is there no way you could technology for what you do?
No, Glassy, I have to be there in person for my job. I can't do it through technology.
Lizann-dirty windows used to drive my mom crazy, too. Hope the church garage sale is successful.
NoraC-how are you feeling? You have been awfully quiet.
paulywogg, Pauly-I hope you are feeling well today so you can enjoy the weekend after work today.

Well, I am off so big hellos to everyone else! Happy AF Saturday!

Hello everyone! Rusty, hope you got to walk around the lake today. I slept in too. Interesting about your friends. Italy is a lot about the wine, but I didn't miss it. First of all because a lot of it was red and the sparkling water they served there was so good. They are served in these really cool bottles. I enjoyed it! bird, I love olive oil and brought some home from Italy. Nice of your daughter to bring you things. The music/entertainment sounds lovely. We see that a lot around the city.

GLassie, so nice you popped in? How are you feeling?

Beautiful day here too. Walked this morning on a local bike path. I happened upon a woman who had fallen off her bike and thought she fractured her shoulder. People were there tending to her, calling her husband and calling 911. She was in a lot of pain. Kinda shook me up a little. Washing windows at moms was done quickly. My nephew came along too. We had a good time while working up a sweat. Nothing else new here. Looking forward to relaxing a little now before bed.
Wishing you all a great AF night!
