They never cease to amaze us. They can finish the Times crossword while the toast is browning but they're as stubborn as mules at times.
Anyway, Pa-in-law is 90 this weekend and we've arranged a big lunch for him. So my job is to find a helium balloon for him.
starty..........Mr JC's scar is so tiny now you wonder how on earth they managed to get a whole hip in there. Got to say I nearly fainted when I saw it the first time the dressing came off. I'd never make a nurse.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Night all from a very tired recruit. Packing for holidays so if I am off the radar you will know that I am just up some mountain. Not sure what the WiFi will be like if at all. Catch up when I get back.

Have a great time Rustop! Enjoy the break.

Is your scar impressive Starty?

JC I'm glad pa and ma JC are at least starting to think through their options and do a bit of planning.

Awoke with a good old cold and sinusitis this morning so that will explain the tiredness last night. It's a good dinner and into bed early again with me.

Safe travel's Rustop! Check in when you can..

Lunch sounds gorgeous JackieClaire.

In the supermarket earlier and it occurred to me how the booze aisle means nothing to me anymore. Before, it was a strong magnet, no trolly complete without a blanket of wine. Now, it means nothing, its (dramatic music) dead to me

Poor you Bridge

How are you doing starty??

Morning all,

Have a fab trip Rustop!

Sorry about your cold and sinus issues Bridge. Get some rest and hope you feel well soon.

My scar is like a big smile right across my arse Today I have walked both dogs (separately) for the first since pre op. I cannot tell you how happy that makes me. They were so good and gentle. And considering they love to try and chase cats and squirrels they did brilliantly today focussing on me. Must say we looked liked the oldest of the old walking round the village

Morning,
Got my aging hippie outfit on..........think a Chrissie Hynde/Blondie cross and I'm going to Aldi.
Just a couple of Bridzilla's
"I've been getting my teeth whitened and got a money off token...........do you want it?"
"Did you know the mother of the bride has to wear the bigger hat?"
My cousin's husband is Jewish and only eats kosher and no seafood at all. So cousin has put him down for vegetarian to save them faffing on at the wedding breakfast.
"Will he eat chicken?" was the text just last week.
Tbh I feel a bit bitchy and they have made me smile rather than want to strangle her and the chicken idid make me laugh out loud.
byebyebridgetjones.......hope you've been taking care of yourself.
starty........reportage please.

Evening all,
Starty you are doing seriously well there. Some breeds just have a feel for these things. My Golden Retriever has never been around very small children before but she has been brilliant with my neice. Fancy them chaperoning you through the village.

What did you get at ALDI yer old hippie? Was it gardening clogs from Italy?

Right I'm off to stream something nice for an hour then off to nod.

I now have a mental image of a smiley face on your bum starty! The dogs must have intuitively known not to go nuts. We watched that new series on Netflix a while back, Our Planet, and Im still in awe of how animals intuitively know and act on stuff. They communicate on an entirely different level.

Good night and good morning

Morning all
Animals never cease to amaze me Mary. They are incredible in what the understand and what the tell us if we listen. When i was first back both dogs did not leave my side taking turns in laying next to me on the bed and always so careful to avoid my leg. This in itself is unusual as the big retriever is a leg humper bybtrade and the lurcher is a leggy lunatic.

Bridge my GR has never been keen on kids either. They always want to stroke him and he is very deft at sidestepping their advances :haha:

Jax your meal sounds like it will be fab are things better with Mr?

That's how I turned from "animals - pah !!" - to loving them to bits. To me now they are little souls - and I believe sometimes that their 'level' is higher than ours.
Humans have lost all links to intuition & instinct.
We have to be taught everything - even a basic thing to survive, walking ..... then when we manage that we naturally want to run everywhere ... but we are told to stop in case we fall
And we are the higher intelligence ? I dunno ...........
