Re: September Army Thread

Evening and morning to our Bridgeeeeeeeeeeee,

byebyebridgetjones.......that made me snort laughing. :harhar:......eek...not yer woman .........I have an image of a dishevelled super-woman in mind for that.....the time and date thing.
I think I heard of Bunnings on Neighbours. It was our first day-time soap over here 33 years ago and as a very new mother was a live saver. Jenny's got a doll called Charlene.

IamMary...juat had a proper look at that photo. Good god.
I used to pride myself that I never drank and drove.......meaning way back in the day if I was the designated driver for that night I sit with a face like last week's milk but how many times did I drive when I had a hangover. Thousands. The amount I drank the alcohol would have been swirling not just the next day but round for a fortniight. Makes me wonder if they breathalysed a school run how many would be clear.

rustop59...........its proper Autumn and I love it for one thing I know what clothes to wear.

stirly-girly..........I've got Jenny & the DIL on for a cheap flight to Athens. They're both geniuses at finding deals.

mollyka..........I always got the snots after a flight...........all those germs floating around the cabin.

satz123..........bon voyage and enjoy.

tonyniceday............now then, give us a wave. Every single one of us here were serial relapsers (that may be an assumption so I apolgise) We know how it feels.......... that never leaves . Let us help.

I'll leave the library thing 'til tomorrw. I'm in my jammies so feeling mellow.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning all.

Jax, defo tell your neighbour to get her hip done. So much better than daily pain!

Sorry you have a cold molls. Miserable and IT issues. Double miserable.

It is such a gorgeous day so off with the pooches for some fun by some water. Perfect. Even more perfect is I am not back to work until 30/09 so planning on some walking some weeding and going to the cinema to watch Downton.

My walking buddy is off to Barbados for 2 months so will definitely miss her but I have a couple of busy months coming up including a visit from Oney in October so hoping not to feel too lonely.

Hope you all have a fab day !

Well, here’s a topic: do either of you knit continental (left handed) and if so, HOW DO YOU DO IT? I learned English style and apparently am addicted to it with really STRONG neural pathways. I have a repetitive use problem on my right hand so have been trying to switch but man, it is HARD - especially purling. I keep telling myself that this is good brain exercise...

Afternoon all.

I crochet NoSugar but do not knit. Think Molly might be a knitter, JC Crochet’s, not sure about the knitting. Am sure someone will be able to give advice. Great to see you back Starty and sounding so good, how is Mr S? ‘‘Tis the time for colds, daughter just had one but thankfully I did not catch it. Another fabulous day so I am off out to the garden again.

That is absolutely hilarious. Only time I ever watched it was on BBC twice a day when I was homesick.

Quick fly through tonight as I'm late late late. A very productive and busy day, but nice busy. Very pleasantly tired.
Right babbling, so I'm off and back in the morning when I can make sense.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Well I do knit NS -- but.. gawd this is goin to sound a bit stoopid -- errmmm -- I use both hands:happy2: I'm guessing you mean the yarn over needle hand sort of thingy... that's deffo right-handed... I think..

LOVED Neighbours - my wee boys had just started school when that came out and I used to watch it at 1.30 and then SHOOT out the door to pick them up from school!

Tired and still snotting so will say goodnight all!!

NoSugar.......I do knit the English way........ we tuck our needles under our arms so in the interest of knitting......and just baby clothes, teddies, and scarves. so on the interest science had a look at continental knitting. TBH never seen the continetal way. How do they do it??? Looks awfully complicated.
rustop59.........I'm still just doing squares..........didn't do my rant about libraries yesterday but they've cancelled adult learning because of their shorter hours and lack of funds.

byebyebridgetjones........wish we'd captured on video camera...........Daphne's birth scene as done by Jenny (Daphne) and the little girl next door under the slide in the garden. They were both three years old.
Charlene (the doll) stilll lives in her old bedroom.

starty.......re the woman next door. Her younger sister is getting hers done with no qualms but she's terrified as their mother died on the table from an aneurysm on the table having hers done...........its going to take some work. I used to work with a bloke that had his done using an epidural because of heart problems........can you imagine :egad:

Waves to all.

Quick check in, one of those busy weeks here.
Ages since I knit, sounds like your trying to do it with opposite hands NS! My thing was sewing Im afraid. And baking. Could bake all day long, but we would all be 20 stone here
Blackberry's are out now and we do make a healthy berry crumble (oats, almond, any berry's/fruit and just a bit of honey to sweeten).

So SAtz, Starty AND Bridge are off this week!!
Well its beautiful weather here too, so you picked a good one.

Me too on the driving JackieClaire.. never god behind the wheel with fresh booze, but had some pretty shaky mornings that I was not proud of.

5 weeks training left :egad:

Night all X

Crack me up about using both hands, Molly :haha:. It means the hand that holds and manipulates the yarn.
Here is an amazing video of a guy purling continental: Ergonomic Continental Purling - YouTube

Morning,
Watched some of the clip............ and I'm now overthinking knitting :egad:
Rugby World cup starts today and I'm thrilled. :heartbeat: Rugby much better than namby pampy soccer.
And I'm polishing my halo as I've recorded the opening ceremony for Mr JC. I even looked at the instruction book.

Goodness me. Continental purling. I'm scared.

Another relaxing but productive pottering day here. I will really miss this lifestyle on return to the work treadmill next week. I've accomplished about half of my ambitious list but who cares.

I had actually taken my tracky dacks off and made an effort with myself too, Mr G.

Good Lord JC It was years and years of material there. Amazing the actors whose bios reveal thattheir careers started with Neighbours or Home and Away. Sends me into a fit of giggles.

Ran across a season of Intervention on Netflix last night. It's an old season but let's face it nothing much changes with addiction. I could barely sit on my seat with discomfort at times. Cringe.

Starty, are you still in contact with Oney? How fantastic! I hope all of the various ailments are on the move. SOmetimes it really does feel like one thing after the other.
Hope you had a great time in the garden Rustop. Pottering is an amazingly under-rated passtime.

Hope the snots move along, Mols.

I hope Madam Satz is enjoying the adventure.
