Re: October Army Thread 2019

Evening everyone. Nothing much happening here either. Had a nice walk on promenade with the doggies after work. Food for the soul. Hope you are soon feeling better JC.

Pity about Gardeners World but glad your brother is out of hospital Bridget. Night everyone.

byebyebridgetjones..............its been so long since I've taken anti-biotics I'd forgotten about the probiotics. Himself is running to get me some. Just taken the last one. I actually feel human today and got a few little niggly little jobs done.
Sleep tight and mind the bugs don't bite to the early to bed bodies.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Jacks why do you feel you have to do those niggly jobs ?
Relax , take it easy - the jobs will still be there later in the week... ( unless it's jobs like washing yourself) :haha:

Greek yogurt is great as a probiotic. Get the real one - not "Greek Style" ( usually has loads of sugar )
It's thick & creamy, Eat as the greeks do and with fruit, nuts & honey ----- SCRUMMY.

I remember my first experience with Amoxicillin when YS was a baby. It was DISGUSTING. White drops that smelt like cats' pee - yuk !
Doesn't surprise me it smashes everything in it path ......

Morning,
satz123..............they were the kind of niggly jobs I could do sitting down. I had a few texts and messages I needed to reply to. One or two thing to order online.
Even managed a shower yesterday.
Bless his heart Mr JC came in from work and went straight out and got some probiotics for me.
Just awaiting the arrival of the decorator.
IamMary...............New York as in the Big Apple....:egad:.......if so jealous beyond words.

A trip to New York! Fantastic Mary, what's the occasion?

The yoghurt doesn't work for me Satz. I need a higher probiotic count to work but I'll have the fruit and nuts any day.

JC I have a course of probiotics regularly. I think they are amazing for digestive systems.

Thrilled to bits with my new greenhouse and considering upgrading to a big walk in number. It's too hot for glass here but there are other materials that would suit. Everything in the small one with the mister system has gone troppo. Can't wait to plant it out and go again.

Sounds like a lovely walk there Rustop. Thanks to the big fella/girlie upstairs that we've got our lives and hobbies back.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Biddie - what way does it affect you when you don't take them? Apparently most of the Serotonin ( happy stuff) is made in our gut :egad:
So makes sense to keep it healthy.
Image the state of our guts when we were drinking every day .....

It's just so wonderful to 'see' how grateful you are to be sober Bridge - you just got on with it with no moaning or 'poor me'. I'm not sure you even found it that difficult this time - once you'd set your mind to it.?
I'm sure that's a help to anyone starting out ..... you tried both sides in the past 12 months & decided life is so much better without alcohol.

Suggestions for colours to go with Frosty Steel ( a sort of greyish white) walls and seal grey carpet welcome............but not red/crimson/ burgandy or brown or green or although perhaps greenish. Help!!!!
Why don't they just put the simple names on paint charts?

I've got a new flu jab appointment made.
The decorator is babysitting Bess so I can get my nails done tomorrow.
Shall I make chocolate brownies?

Re: October Army Thread 2019

Hello Ladies!!

I'm on antibiotics myself at the moment and hate them. Makes me a different person the first few days - actually affects me psychologically FFS. Makes me very irritable and cant' get along even with myself. I eat a few tablespoons of yoghurt with each capsule to avoid getting thrush. Got it once from antib's and it wasn't nice. Former Mr. Stirly got it too - in his mouth - and had all the skin peel off the inside of his mouth. Don't much like medication of any type. Only take my high BP's because I have to. Mind you, since quitting AL my BP has been a touch on the low side and very stable.

Bridge - any chance of you posting some pics of the greenhouse? I would love to have my own house and property big enough to do something like that. I do have window planters but their nothing compared to a real garden you can potter in.

Jacks - glad to hear you're feeling better.

Satzy - I eat only goat's milk or sheep's milk yoghurt anymore and always with honey in it. Love it - so much better than the processed stuff they sell.

Okay - here's something that I could use some input about - that is if anyone of you have ever heard of such a thing. Older son's older daughter - she turns 6 next month apparently has no sense of smell. Jaysus. Only found out about it today. They've had her tested for brain tumour and the likes and all is clear but the wee lass can't smell anything. Anyone ever heard of something like this? They're taking her to a specialist in northern Greece next week who apparently has a machine to test your sense of smell. Seems there's just one thing after another. And this is the wee one who was born with no fingers on her right hand. Like that isn't enough for them to deal with!! I was wondering if it could be something psychological but would never go so far as to suggest that. Anyway, if any of you have ever heard of something similar, I'd love your input. Thanks in advance.

Another lovely summer-into-fall day here in Stirly World. Love this time of year - warm days, cool nights.

Waving to anyone I've not mentioned! Wish those Army lads would show their noses.....

I am gagging for something sweet right and trying not to indulge but warm brownies with a cup of tea I would definitely gobble down.

What about a soft teal colour for your curtains. Not really blue, not really green. Would go lovely with the grey shades. Or a soft rose colour. Just saying....
