stirly-girly...........I hadn't forgotten your errrrrrrrrm awkward DIL.............that was me being polite............I'll bet you've wanted to throttle her many, many times.
If I get five minutes in town there's a curtain maker near the nail place will grab some samples if I've got time. Think its going to be a dusty pink or grey.
Wish the decorator would hurry up. Bess has had her xanax so she'll just snooze all morning. It could be worse, I could be filing.

It's just so wonderful to 'see' how grateful you are to be sober Bridge - you just got on with it with no moaning or 'poor me'. I'm not sure you even found it that difficult this time - once you'd set your mind to it.?
I'm sure that's a help to anyone starting out ..... you tried both sides in the past 12 months & decided life is so much better without alcohol.
You know what, Satz? I got away with murder this time-and this will be the last. I have to drive past the bottle shop on the way home from work and haven't even looked once or thought about it. I did have good habits in place for a long time before so I can draw on those but I have strenuously avoided any of my known triggers - people, places, events. I don't want to go out anyway so I'm not missing out and that can be ongoing as far as I am concerned. Being happily sober and busy, looking at what you've gained in gratitude will do it. But thanks

Bridge - any chance of you posting some pics of the greenhouse? I would love to have my own house and property big enough to do something like that. I do have window planters but their nothing compared to a real garden you can potter in.
I will certainly do that. It's only tiny which is why I want the upgrade but even something that size, it's amazing what you can do with it.
Okay - here's something that I could use some input about - that is if anyone of you have ever heard of such a thing. Older son's older daughter - she turns 6 next month apparently has no sense of smell. Jaysus. Only found out about it today. They've had her tested for brain tumour and the likes and all is clear but the wee lass can't smell anything. Anyone ever heard of something like this? They're taking her to a specialist in northern Greece next week who apparently has a machine to test your sense of smell. Seems there's just one thing after another. And this is the wee one who was born with no fingers on her right hand. Like that isn't enough for them to deal with!! I was wondering if it could be something psychological but would never go so far as to suggest that. Anyway, if any of you have ever heard of something similar, I'd love your input. Thanks in advance.
.....If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Decorating! Squeal! I'm going white white white with strategically placed blue and white. I want simple, fresh, clean and light. Pinterest!! I'm mad about it.
No sugar, those paint colours are gorgeous. I love Oxford Blue.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: October Army Thread 2019
Ok, England ARMY. I just watched a show on Netflix about a set of English identical twins, one of whom lost all of his memory at age 18 and how his twin gave him a revised version of the life they had shared until then. It is called "Tell Me Who I Am" and is about the injured twin's quest to find out what really had gone on when he was a boy. Was this a Big Story when it first came out?? The documentary is amazing and an interview I heard on BBC Outlook last weekend fills in some gaps. If you don't mind watching Tough Stuff, this is a really fascinating documentary.

Night everyone. Have not heard of that one No Sugar, must check it out. You still hiding Molly, lucky you being able to get away. When himself embarks on a DIY job I’m usually roped in to help, give me, get me etc, thankfully it does not happen very often.

Morning,
Today may just be the last day for the decorator.........I live in hope. I'm escaping up tje high street for a couple of hours.
The living room and dining room can wait 'til next spring. I've never been this tired since I was pregnant 33 years ago. I'm not even sure what day of the week it is at the moment.
mollyka......which babe were you babysitting? It could be worse, I could be filing.

Hello Ladies. I went to say good morning thinking it was still morning your time and then saw what time it is here. Good grief. The morning and half the afternoon has gone without me realizing it.Originally posted by JackieClaire View PostMorning,

mollyka..........I take it you've got two references, seen at least his last two years bank statements and a police report on this young man
stirly-girly...........he's not finished. Tomorrow..........he's a bit of a perfectionist so takes his time. Walls are done just the final coat on the bannister, bit of woodwork and skirting boards .........and have to say its looks fabulous.
He adores Bess and brings her biscuits.....so he's a good man in my eyes.
He'll be back in the Spring to do the living room and dining room.
Its just climbing over him and his ladders to get into the bathroom.
Add the anit-biotics onto my wariness (think that's a nice way of putting my absolute hatred of strangers in the house) has left me tired.
Never mind its Christmas soonIt could be worse, I could be filing.

Night everyone. Hope you are feeling better soon JC. Has he decided to do the landing too Molly? I too keep well out of the love lives, safer.
How do you feel about the marathon now Mary? Think the weather is going to be ok. Good luck. Off to a walking festival for the weekend. Don’t know if I am fully prepared but will downgrade walks if I feel like it.
