Re: November 2019: International Army
Arvo all, nice to see such a busy thread !
I have the week off work as was going to have my eye surgery. Now because they need to order a special lens for one eye it will take 6 weeks which is a bit or a lot gutting. I have a short eye apparently. Who knew....
Spent last weekend with Oney in Bath which was amazing. Laughed till my guts hurt and was lovely to catch up.
Oh and I am 7 months off the pills! Absolutely delighted with that. 6 weeks off the sauce too. This is it for me know and at last have regained my certainty about it. Taken me 5 years but recent events and my success with the pills have reinforced how I do not want substances in my life any more. Its a great relief and so lovely to be back in that mindset again.
|Sorry you are feeling blue Molls. Guess the gloomy weather not helping. Hope work is not too awful.

Re: November 2019: International Army
Evening everyone. Good to hear from you Starty and well done. It has been a challenging year and it is great to see you so positive. Hopefully this will see an end to your medical problems. Glad you enjoyed meet up. You cannot beat a good laugh. How are you today JC? Hope you got to see your pal. Is this a new thing with work colleague Molly? You normally sound as if you love your job.
Finished work week. Back at Pilates this evening so need to grab some food. Waves to everyone else.

Re: November 2019: International Army
Evening,
Shagging Bonfire night. Don't know why we're still celebrating the death of someone who tried to blow up parliament 500 years ago.......... he'd be given a medal these days. I've always loathed fireworks and who on earth can afford them these days.
Luckily Bess has had her xanax and she's as deaf as a post these days so she's in a very happy and relaxed place.
starty............I was just thinking about you and here you are. Sounding good yourself barring the eyeball situation.
mollyka.............get it off your chest here. Better out than in.
Can't believe it was April I last saw my pal. He's been having family problems. He's ended up looking after his ex-wife's son. He sounds like a decent kid with a mass of problems one being his real dad's inside for manslaughter.
Mr JC's got a whole two days off work and we're finally choosing the flooring for the kitchen. There was a fault in one of the kitchen tops and that's being put right on Friday...........we're nearly there. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: November 2019: International Army
Hello everybodeee.
Hiya Starty that is brilliant news (minus the short eye). It's such a bonus when you are doing this because you want to rather than under sufferance. Hope Mr Starty is right there with you on this. So glad you are still in contact with Oney, assuming she met you there from Ireland? - thought she was Dubbers.
One of the big boring ahole tasks is finally done for work this year. I hate projects with tiny little arduous processing parts to them. They drive me mental.
Also got the satisfaction of seeing one of the more buttoned up colleagues make herself look like a goose today. She 'replied all' to an invitation email saying "Sorry X, I can't possibly make it! One of my PhDs is presenting his stalk that day!" I could hear the hoots and roars coming out of offices all the way up the corridor.
So nice to see the thread so active. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: November 2019: International Army
Thanks all,
Yes Bridge, she came over from Dub and we picked her up at Bristol airport and drove on to Bath. Stayed in a lovely quirky guesthouse run by a couple of gay guys. Yep Mr S is like a changed man, said he has not been this happy for a loooooong time which is wonderful.
Your colleague blunder made me laugh. My job is going through changes too. The girl who I job share with is resigning so who knows what the future holds there!
Your house is going to be a show place soon Jax!

Re: November 2019: International Army
Proper good morning now.
The fireworks were still going off at 11pm. Again I wish someone would just get rid of every single one. They're a complete waste of money, they aren't the old fashioned quick whizz, bang and if I meet the person who was about a street away I shall show them exactly where I'd like to put them.
NoraC................I adore Winnie the Pooh and his friends.
Mr JC off for a couple of days using the last of this year's holiday entitlement. Trouble is he wants to seven thousand things and that's just this morning. It could be worse, I could be filing.

It also has to be said that 'Reply All' is the most dangerous Outlook function of all. Oh, I could tell you some stories...
Looks like Mr JC is going to take over where the other tradies left off, JC. I suppose you were hoping for a couple of days' peace? Oh well...
I'm off to beddles. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
