Re: November 2019: International Army
Good morning and well done JC, fantastic start. Looking forward to seeing our friends across the water. Jeez Mary, you can’t please them. It’s only when they have grown up that they will look back and appreciate what you gave them. Good few fireworks going off around here last night, kept the doggies inside as much as possible.
Short walk this morning and then crochet class.

Re: November 2019: International Army
Morning ALL!! And I mean all!! Let's not forget we are the lucky ones...Joe's pal was back drinking like a mad fella within a week of coming out of treatment...I gather he doesn't even have electricity in his house now...he's about to get a huge pension and lump sum from his job so I can only see one direction from here...we REALLY are the lucky ones -so many never come out the other end..so sadContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: November 2019: International Army
What a nice welcoming-to-all thread! I usually send this type of thing directly to satz123 but in this open spirit, I'll put it here.
I love listening to Ivor's accent and wonder if that is how your husband sounds, Satz. He is pretty amazing - he's an engineer who was put all of his 'root causes' expertise into figuring out and fixing his health issues. Now he is hooked up with an Irish group with the mission of eliminating heart disease. Anyway, his posts and podcasts are really interesting and informative.
I hope all the time zones get active and this becomes a 24/7 thread -- because we are 24/7 AF people!
Have a good weekend, all. And those of us in the US need to remember to move our clocks to different time zone Saturday night...

Re: November 2019: International Army
Hello everyone - Happy November!
Thank you for the very warm welcome everyone. :yay:
I agree we are the lucky ones. Sad story about Joe's friend Molly. I can see myself falling down that same hole if I ever decide to have just one drink again. So, I'm very happy to have this home base to check in to remind me that one is too many."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Re: November 2019: International Army
Got my the flu jab...........don't touch my left arm......its a tad sore.
Had a lovely surprise this morning........the S&H turned up with his dad's electric drill. Bit of a surprise as I thought it was in the garage.............the drill not the son.
Sending the curtains back and getting blinds. We've got some lovely prints and photos to go on the walls and the curtains would make it fussy.
Lovely to see everyone embracing the global theme. :hug:It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: November 2019: International Army
About time too. I've been hearing about the possibility of a global thread for years. Oprah, Ellen, Gayle King, Pat Kenny have all hinted at this, tantalizing the masses but no one's been able to confirm the rumour.......until now!
Saludos desde Australia. Have a beaut weekend friends.

I can't believe I've never heard of this guy - but he talks a lot of sense and I'll enjoy the podcasts.
Yeah NoSugar I suppose he does sound like MrS and most East Coast Irish men !!! Dublin - if I was to hazard a guess.Last edited by satz123; November 1, 2019, 05:22 PM.
