Re: December 2019: International Army
Morning and waves to the undies.
Mr. JC going into work today...............they're closed but he's going in for a tidy of his desk. Which means I'll prolly not see him 'til February. I'm going to hitch a lift into town and see what I can spend my Chrimbo money on and dog chews. I know that I'll come home with some custard doughnuts from M&S.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: December 2019: International Army
Morning Jacks and Mary last night..have you loads of lolly to spend ? Couldn't face shops yet..for anything. I'm off today - had leave I had to take..no plans tho.
The boy who didn't get the plane to Spain saga continues..he's in a very bad way. Joe reckons he's suicidal. He spent yesterday with him and is going down in a bit..it's scary tho. He told Joe he can't face me.. that I wouldn't understand..why?? Bit at sea at the minute!!Last edited by mollyka; December 30, 2019, 04:08 AM.Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: December 2019: International Army
God love him, Molls. Its trying to get him sober enough to explain we know exactly where we were, how we felt and what he's going through.
We're not sitting in judgment.
Its more the pet shop and getting out than anything else. Didn't get a lot but its mine
I'll have a wander today proper look next week when all the schools and people are back to work and its quiet.............. I just need to get out of the house. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: December 2019: International Army
Good morning JC and Molly and everyone else. Feeling the need to get out too. Thinking of a beach walk but with 3 doggies and one pup I need help so waiting for himself to get up. Beautiful morning here, sitting looking up at Sugarloaf, if I take out binoculars I might see Mary climbing it. Great climb for kids and lovely views from top on clear day so hope it keeps fine for Mary. Started watch You on Netflix so binging this morning.

Re: December 2019: International Army
Good morning Army from a wet and cold Athens. A mere 4C and rainy! Rained all night and the wind blew like crazy. Freezing cold I am and with two aircons on heat in the store.
Sounds like everyone had a lovely Christmas as did we. Went to a mountain north of the city yesterday - there was snow, so I wanted to have a wee drive out into the country. Then a hot choccie to warm us up. Back home for pizza and a movie. I finally bought a TV after almost 2 years without one. Netflix here I come!!!
Molly - Liam knows you understand his drinking - he also knows you can see through any excuse he may have for continuing. Also, he knows how strong you are so he may be a bit daunted by you and that's why he says he can't face you. Huge congrats on 8 years sober. A great accomplishment and one I am looking forward to matching. As for the cigs - why bother? It would just put you back at day 1.
Looking forward to the New Year. 2019 has been profitable for our business but so many ups and downs in our personal lives. Hopefully things will ease off as we enter a new year and a new decade.
Back to work - catch up again later, hopefully.
Hope you're all having a great day!!!
For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: December 2019: International Army
The town was empty when Mr. JC dropped me off just after 10 am.............and PTL I had the sense to get out quick. By the time I went for the bus home
Just some of Bess's venison sausage chews (she's a proper snobby Labrador), some wool and couple of magazines..............heaving when I left at 11:30.
Nobody but here but me and Bess. Prolly mentioned that Mr. JC's gone to work to get set up for his first day back on Thursday..................he'll be full of joie de vivre for about 20 minutes.
stirly-girly......a balmy 9C here. A TV ..................we'll have you on Amazon watching box-sets next
Forgot to say that Buddy the Beagle chewed the arm of my glasses on St. Stephen's day............not the whole arm but I'll have to take them back to the optician to be fixed. I'm having to wear those over the counter crap ones.It could be worse, I could be filing.

We all know how manipulative us addicts are - so Joe is still sympathetic and not asking him to do anything MAD - like stop drinking :egad:
YS did the same until he ran out of people. Runs a mile from his sister because she will call him out every time.Last edited by satz123; December 30, 2019, 11:57 AM.

Re: December 2019: International Army
Thanks for your input folks - and Hey Stirly - nice to see you pop in... and yeah - it's well warmer here although cold! think it was 12 degrees in the car this morn..
It's really sad what's happening with Liam - I think he probably has wet brain.. he repeats himself endlessly - drunk or sober.. he seems to have no day or night - just drinks till he conks out and then off again.
In fairness to Joe he's not taking any shite from him.. he asked Joe to bring him to buy a new phone today (he lost his own. thinks it's been stolen???) Joe said he wouldn't go anywhere with him till he showered and shaved because he now even smells.... this is a man who was very high up in the civil service - one of the ministers advisors... and this is where he's at... he went himself to the phone shop yesterday and whatever state he was in they told him to leave... it's really really sad.. and his family just don't want to know anymore - can't blame themContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: December 2019: International Army
Hi Army!
I've fallen deep into a cleaning frenzy here. Having a ball with it! Still a way to go but it is so therapeutic, cleaning your environment to usher in a new year.
Also did an ALDI run yesterday but this time I was ready for them. Card tucked into my bra, I ducked stealthily around the customer in front of me and waited at the end of the checkout ready to push my trolley into place for the onslaught. Such a feeling of smug satisfaction when the young pup looked around wildly for his next customer and I was already in place with a look a grim determination on my face.
Tomorrow I'm going clothing shopping and the first time someone gives me a stock standard positive comment about what I've got on I'm going to position myself an inch from their face and in a menacing tone say "No it's not. It's a shit colour on me"
Retail can be fun!
Reading back!If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: December 2019: International Army
That cracked me up Bridge!
Thats very sad Molly, poor man has fallen so far. Fair play to Joe for being there.
Beautiful part of the country rustop59. The views were great today, but its was so busy, we were tripping over each other! Handy one for the kids. My sister has the flu and is floored so I took hers too.
Just home from a lovely meal with Mr M and friends of ours. NO ONE drank!! We had great craic and I dont think anyone missed it at all. No need for his booze business anymore..AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: December 2019: International Army
Good morning Army folks, the beach is calling for me and dogface and despite it being cold and damp it will no doubt be still be quite busy with dogs taking their owners for a walk. Time of the year when people start to focus on a healthier self I guess.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
